End of off topic

Please quote my wild assumptions.

You were the first to go off topic here by claiming certain people would automatically complain about weight of the device.

We already have a topic how heavy the pro series are...
So, apple should go back in time, and make the iphone 4 again, no camera bump, lighter phone...but but, people will start to complain about, camera is garbage, display is too small, battery life is worse than ever and so on...
This topics should not exists...people that are never happy
This topic can be closed since everybody can see how big is the camera bump...and who doesnt see it, then those people are blind, so they cant read this topic either

It’s a discussion forum where people who are enthusiastic about the brand discuss the things they like and dislike. You are free to not read the topics that are of no interest to you.

I get a little anxiety when I see the camera layout on current iPhones. Feels like I'm being watched and every pore on my skin is being examined.

If Steve Jobs was alive, he would have worried for all of us. For us who are blinded by the Brand, we don't see any issues.

I don’t have a problem with the size of the sensors given the performance of the cameras, but I haven’t been a fan of the layout with the 3 lenses in a triangle. Think it’s a huge eye sore. They should be 3 across the top, in line with one another. But I’m sure there’s some benefit to them being as close to each other as possible in terms of weaving the 3 pictures together or something.

Coming to the iPhone 13 pro max from a XS max and the camera size is taking some getting used to.

I have my phone in the apple leather case. Will the lenses scratch being put down on tables etc? Am I better putting the phone face down?

Yeah it’s kinda unfortunate that the big screen iPhone has morphed into an iCamera when all some people want is just a big screen without all that heavy crap protruding off the rear

You do make a point - as good as it is, for the average iPhone user, the camera is probably a little bit overkill.

The lenses are some sort Saphire crystal and should be well protected against scratches.

Get a better case.

I think whichever way you put them they’re going to be an eyesore. The annoyance I have with them is, owing to their size, I’m finding it hard to avoid smudging them, with my fingers, when removing the phone from my trouser pocket. As ever, I guess I will adapt & perfect my trouser pocket removal technique.

I just upgraded from an iPhone XS to 13 Pro and didn’t realize how big of a camera bump this is until using it for a day. With my XS in a case, the camera bump was entirely gone and the phone lays completely flat on the table or on any number of my wireless chargers. Now with my 13 Pro in a case, the camera lip is massive and it doesn’t lay flat on any of my wireless chargers. I have to make sure it’s positioned correctly so it’s still charging. I’m contemplating going back to my XS and waiting for the 14 since one of the rumors is that the camera bump will be gone. Am I crazy?
It’s a camera with a phone rather than phone with camera. Lol. I feel you, but have to accept it as I already invested too much on Apple devices. Putting in the case is not also really solving the problem as your phone now become thick and uncomfortable to hold.

When the bump is so large the iPhone Pro no longer fits on Apple’s own wireless charger you know they’ve gone too far.

While we're likely just six days away from Apple unveiling the iPhone 13 lineup at its confirmed September 14 event, leaker Jon Prosser has shared alleged details about next year's iPhone 14 on his Front Page Tech website.

iphone-14-render-jon-prosser.jpg

Prosser's information comes specifically from the "iPhone 14 Pro Max" model, and key features based on renders created by Ian Zelbo include:
  • No notch, with a hole-punch front camera instead, in line with information shared by analyst Ming-Chi Kuo
  • A thicker chassis allowing for no rear camera bump, with the lenses, LED flash, and LiDAR Scanner sitting flush with the rear glass
  • A titanium frame
  • Round volume buttons that look similar to those on older iPhone 4 and iPhone 5 models
  • Redesigned speaker and microphone grilles with elongated mesh cutouts instead of individual holes on the bottom of the device
  • Lightning connector remains on at least some iPhone 14 models
Prosser provided a closer look at the iPhone 14 renders on his YouTube channel:

Prosser said that while some aspects of the iPhone 14's design and dimensions could change between now and the device's likely release in September 2022, he is confident that the overall design will remain largely the same when mass production begins.

Prosser was recently accurate about Apple launching a colorful new iMac, and he revealed the design of the AirTag prior to its release, but he has been wrong about the launch timing and pricing of some other Apple products.

Every year for the last 10 years, iPhone lenses have for the most part gotten bigger and bigger and bigger. There’s zero reason to expect that the iPhone 14 pro models won’t have large lenses protruding out of the back too just like the 13. Camera improvement is the main selling point on every new iPhone model.
If the case was extended to reach out to the lip of the lenses, the phone would be massive- like a brick. So that’ll never happen either.
Like it or not — large extruding lenses bulging out of the back of a pro iPhone are here forever.
I wouldn’t say no reason, even if it is highly improbable rumors have a slight possibility of coming true, and if there was no reason why would MacRumors write an article about the possibility?

doesn’t bother me enough for it to be an issue. Case takes care of most of the wobble by I rarely use my phone on a flat surface anyways. If a large camera bump enables a better camera I would be fine with making it thicker still.

if those rumours will become true, i bet you will complain about how thick and heavy the pro models will be, and will be not just you...but the whole world...for the camera to be flush in todays camera lenses and all the tech, think about an iphone 14 pro max around 11mm in thickness and an smartphone with around 300 grams.. for compromises...no wonder everybody is doing the s

I don’t use my phone to stare at the back of it. When I’m using my phone, I see the back of my phone 0% of the time. No, it doesn’t bother me lol.

I think it looks better, actually. Plus, it shows more of this GLORIOUS Sierra Blue color with my case on.

I fully agree with you, the pro needs a redesign as the camera protruding is fugly and it’s also too heavy..

perhaps the pro moniker was all about ‘protruding’

I haven't seen the new phones yet but while I'm no fan of the aesthetics of the protruding lenses I do want my phone camera to be as good as it can be and what's tempting me to buy the 13 Pro (or even 13 Pro Max) is the camera improvement (I'm on an XS at the moment) so complaining about the bump being bigger would be a bit daft really.

I am definitely not a fan of it. It feels very awkward when fitted in Apple’s leather case. Compared to last years iPhone 12 Pro that I had, I don’t notice anything different. Hoping once I take pictures that that will be more improved.
