I feel a bit cheated since i bought the 7 last year, expecting the 7s to come out this year with the same design because i upgrade every time a new design comes out. after looking at the specs of the 8, i'm sticking with the 7. wireless charging is nice, but it's not that much more convenient than just plugging in my phone. it's a fad IMO. Not to mention the 8 also brought a price increase of $50 so they expect me to pay $150 extra for basically just wireless charging? nope, not worth it at all. The x, i really would like to have but i don't get the point of the curved screen corners. videos, photos, etc are rectangle, not rounded and this is either going to create black boxes like on old school TVs or it will cut off parts of what you can see in full on a rectangular display. The only thing i'm at all interested in is the OLED display, which is nothing new, androids have had these for years. heck even my dad's moto g 4 has one. Overall, very disappointed in both IOS 11 and the new iPhones. I'm also pretty sad black is gone again, so i'll stick with my matte black 7 for a while longer.

edit: furthermore, $1000 for a cell phone is ridiculous, i don't care how much money is in your wallet. That's ridiculous and i refuse to buy into apple's greed. $650 for a phone is even too much in my opinion especially when everyone has a smartphone these days. I paid less that $1000 for the gaming PC i'm typing this on. I'm in college and $1000 is just ridiculous. But i'm sure you guys will buy into the hype and let apple continue to charge outrageous prices like this.
If you don't care about os then note 8 is great with great trade in.

with the bunny ear chin wraparound display? Not possible with LED, LED you get a rectangular display

With OLED, it can be shaped and shifted to however the manufacturer prefers it to be
I mean all the sensors and cameras that were in the top notch. I don’t care about the notch design itself.

Even so, cost prohibiting for the 8 and 8 plus

And no way apple will allow their 10th anniversary flagship to be dwarfed by a ”7s” that has Touch ID + Face ID

That would make no business sense

No i just mean theres nothing in ios 11 that makes me want to update. When ios 8 came out it added quick reply which was enough for me to update. ios 9 added low power mode, again worth updating for. IOS 10 came pre installed on my 7 but it was worth updating for the improved lock screen with widgets. Now what does ios 11 bring to the table? the new CC is a lot better design wise, but it looks like crap graphics wise. the new icons are ugly and don't fit in with the hardware as well. nothing else is really unmentionable. NC being gone sucks, i like it the old way better.

Nope, not at all. iPhone X will be an amazing phone with the best performance, screen, security, and OS out there. Pricey yes, but it's not for everyone.

If I got an iPhone X, I would 100% sell it WAY early before X2 in 2018 and revert to my SE or 7Plus if I still had it, in between

Resell value will not be pretty on those, this time next year

I see. It has great features ipad lines.

Face id like most technology in the first stages looks to be slow, and I’m not a fan of ditching the home button. Also, releasing the X so late in the year could turn out to be a bad move. Most people won’t have them until 2018. This is the first keynote where I think I’m going to stay put for awhile with my 7 plus or at the least possibly get an 8 instead. Not to mention the hiking of prices. I make good money but goodness, it will cost my wife and I a fortune to upgrade.

One more year with my 6, and TouchID is embedded in LCD.

Not only is the ip8 really just as 7s...but there's a small price increase to boot.

But hey...it's only money, right? :)

I think it’s ridiculous that Apple is charging almost $100 over the exchange rate here in Canada for the iPhone 8. Exchange rate works out to being $851, iPhone 8 is $929...... Almost $1000 for the base model. That’s crazy!!! Also, the X is $1319.....

I think I am just on the cusp of millenial at 32, but I have no issue paying for something if I can afford it. Not sure exactly what you mean.
Millennial pricing is describing people who is willing to shell out money regardless of price. For example: would you buy future iphone for 2000 usd and up as base price?

So...is it buy or no buy?

After seeing both new phones unveiled I don't think price is the major stumbling block for me anymore. It's more the fact I can't see anything in the X that I need over what the 8 offers. The price just confirms the decision for many I think. I was expecting a bit more after all the hype. Overall though I was happy with what I saw going forward, apart from the shyte wireless charging mat lol. My iPhone and AW dock does pretty much the same thing even if it takes 2.37 seconds longer to place the devices on top of it.

They could have done it for the 8/8 Plus and kept roughly the same price point. They just want to milk more money from those that will pay for the X. Unfortunately the portrait selfie cam/face ID isn’t worth the additional $300 because you’re paying for the OLED display.

No, but then I don't use most of the bells and whistles anyway. I'm happy with what I have and it works fine. It would being even more amazing if I bothered to fiddle around more.

I think if the complainers were interviewed they'd probably have the same usage as you do. People want the most highest specced product and end up mostly using social media apps, email and the web browser.

I'm just pissed that Apple pulled the same crap this year with giving AT&T and T-Mobile the inferior modem. Ugh.

They got rid of TouchID and the price is too high. If I was a couple generations back the 8 or 8+ might interest me, but phones have gotten to the point where there is no need to upgrade every year or even every other year so since I have a 7+ I wouldn't trade it in.

What does interest me is the cellular on the watch. If that eventually gets to the point where I can buy a pair of airpods for phone calls that aren't on speaker, that might be tempting enough to get me to ditch the phone and actually buy a watch.
