What is EXTREMELY disappointing beyond anything else is that $1000 gets you 64GB of storage. I STRONGLY feel at this price point the base storage should be 128GB
Yeah, ironically the top end X seems the least outrageously priced model/variant announced today - the 8s are a bad joke price wise and the 999 version seems stingy on storage...

I guess i the only one who wanted 512 GB. I had $1500 set aside for the 512 X and there isn’t even one. I have a 7 now with only 50 free GB. I go to a lot of concerts and my gf has a 7+ and her videos end uo so much better than mine, it’s embarassing. So with a 4k iphone X, it would gobble up the rest of my free space quickly. 64 GB is a joke with this phone.

I will probably wait until next year now.

From Apple, during a generation that is usually an S upgrade overall I'm impressed.

While the iPhone X looks cool I'm more impressed with the iPhone 8.

Comparing it to my 6S I get everything the X has minus FaceID and the screen. It has actual optical image stabilization, 1.8 ap sensor, True Tone screen tech, Wireless charging, 240fps 1080p slow mo, 60fps 4k, video based color gamut (p3), quad LED flash, BT 5.0, better battery, faster charging, etc etc....

And with a standard of 64gb its price is 50 dollars cheaper than I paid for my 6S (64gb was the second tier option).

Now I'll need to play with the iPhone X before I make a decision but the 8 seems like a nice upgrade for me.

Even though I read pretty much all leaks and rumours up to today, I still found the keynote to be enjoyable. The 8 Plus looks like a good upgrade for my 6 Plus work phone, and the X would be nice as a new personal phone, after selling my 7-month old 7 Plus, but...

I read a few posts on Twitter about Face ID, and it makes me think. Will it really be enough for anyone to shove your iPhone X into your face for it to unlock?! I'm thinking police search, thieves and such, and it makes me unsure if Face ID is indeed better than Touch ID. Then again, a thief could hold the sensor up to your finger, but this makes it seem, well, just too easy.

If there were a new Touch ID sensor on the lock button, working together with Face ID, I'd already be standing in line.

What do you guys think?

I'm loving my iPhone SE more now also. I still want to upgrade in 2018 though, just depends when apple will release another iPhone priced $499, maybe called SE 2 or something

Eh. There are definitely some cool new technologies and I’m always happy to see the latest and greatest, but it made me happy that I bought a 7 in December and didn’t wait for the X (like I was trying to do). Getting the X now would be me paying over a thousand dollars just for a better larger screen. Face ID just is a new way to do something I’m already doing (unlocking my phone). I doubt I’d use AR that often, if at all, and I already don’t take that many pictures. With the raised prices of the 8 and 8+, the high cost of the X, and the fact that my iPhone is still running as good as it did when I bought it, if not, better, makes me very happy with my current setup. I’m hoping to get another enjoyable 2 years out of the 7. Hopefully by then, the price of the X will be lowered, and maybe there will be an X+ so that they replace the current 8 and 8+ models.

im disappointed with the color options, only 64 for $1k and not being able to get one until November.

This release was the epitome of "we have goals we set, but we are unable to meet them fully due to tech limitations and time constraints, so here's the best we can do."

What they wanted: full screen "edge-to-edge" display

What they delivered: The Ears with a hole in every picture/video/app; AND STILL WITH A VERY SMALL BEZEL

What they wanted: TouchID under the glass; Virtual home button

What they delivered: FaceID; fragmented UI interface (swipe up to go home/exit apps)

If you have an iPad and an iPhone X, I guarantee you that you are going to mix up the gestures once in a while or pause to think about how to get to control center. This is VERY un-Apple like.

I think Apple should have took the Samsung idea by using the 3D touch-like home button under the screen. It works out well and it doesn't confuse you.

No, I'm happy with what I saw. The iPhone X isn't really what I'm interested in, I skipped the iPhone 7 Plus so the 8 Plus will be a nice upgrade for me. Maybe next year the OLED version will be worth it, but $1000 for "features" I really don't care about doesn't make sense for me.

Millennial pricing is describing people who is willing to shell out money regardless of price. For example: would you buy future iphone for 2000 usd and up as base price?

So...is it buy or no buy?

Oh okay. No, I wouldn’t pay $2,000 for a future iPhone. I do spend money on things that I want to purchase though, sometimes they are expensive. I guess you were right.

After seeing both new phones unveiled I don't think price is the major stumbling block for me anymore. It's more the fact I can't see anything in the X that I need over what the 8 offers. The price just confirms the decision for many I think. I was expecting a bit more after all the hype. Overall though I was happy with what I saw going forward, apart from the shyte wireless charging mat lol. My iPhone and AW dock does pretty much the same thing even if it takes 2.37 seconds longer to place the devices on top of it.

I think the screen, design, face ID, and processor are worth the upgrade from the 7 Plus in my eyes. It’ll cost me $6 more a month than I spend now.

I guess people have limits.

Nope, nobody else, just you! I'm completely OVERWHELMED by FaceID. This is basically a phone that is 5 years from the future, it has concepts and features that are just bonkers.
