Don't get me wrong I will be getting one on launch day (as long as I can have it shipped). This year I am feeling a wee bit more enthused then the 4s. Bigger screen has been a long time coming, and seems to be the only big feature.

Over all though I'm just feeling a bit... I don't know "meh" I guess about the whole thing.

For the 1st through the 4 I was foaming at the mouth, checking gizmodo every 15 seconds excited. I practically bit open the box when I got it home to get to my precious. This time I'm pretty ambivalent.

I guess it is just a side effect of years of having essentially the same smartphone. I don't really even know what feature would get my heart pumping in a new phone again. My 4s takes more consistently great shots then my highend point and shoot, the screen is like looking out a window, and hspa+ is faster then my home Internet was 5 years ago.

I guess some kinda hologram screen with a naked fortune telling Siri, 10 gigs of ram, and thinner then a credit card phone would have me standing in line.

Oh well I'm sure come the 12th, Timmy and the boys will probably light a spark, in my lump of coal, jaded heart. Then sell me on why I should be pumped for my now with slightly longer screen iPhone 5.

At least my apple stock will go up again lol.

What feature are you counting the seconds for?

Yes

Sadly not at all :(
Certainly looks like all the leaks are fairly legit and if that holds true I have no desire for the elongated skinny 4" display.

No, I'm not all that excited about it. Until now I'm not at all excited about the elongated screen. Maybe when I see it I'll change my mind. As of now I don't think I'll be buying it.

Have you seen the number of leaks we've had for this one? Part after part was up on Macrumors. Last year, there were no credible sources as far as design goes and just artists renditions, thats it.

Because most of the parts were identical.

We had tons go iPhone 4 parts leak, but they took a backseat to entire phones leaking. So now everyone thinks we have more leaks than the past 2 years when in the truth is, in previous years we knew more about the chips than we do this time.

Excited?

Nope.

If it turns out to be completely different?

Nope.

What will it take?

A change Apple seems to be afraid off, or too stubborn to make.

Never one to quit, I plan to keep using my 4S, and sit back and wait.

In the mean time I'll enjoy my new SGS III & my soon to be released Windows Phone 8.

See how easy that is... :D

You're probably right. I just found it interesting that companies were making cases for a phone that never came out. Apple usually introduces about 8 to 10 "main features" that make this iPhone "better" than any other phone. Maybe there are one or two things that were not part of all these leaks and rumors that they will call "revolutionary". Not making any promises though.

Yes. I'm still a Crapberry owner. It lags to the point that it takes up to 7 seconds sometimes to figure out the current time (i.e. stuck at the time it was when it went to "sleep").

How exactly do you know those chips?

Front glass is thinner and probably the LCD as well.

9to5mac reported pretty extensively on the new chips that Qualcomm introduced back in Feb 2011. The serial numbers have showed up in beta versions of iOS 6.

So the Qualcomm chips I can understand...not the rest. Nothing more than a guess.

When the iPhone 4 came out i was pumped, i went to the launch night and it was not a disappointment. Things have changed since then and there are now plenty of phones out there that not only match the iPhone but surpass it in almost every area. For many of us the number 1 thing that the new iphone has to have is a nice big screen but it seems apple are going for a taller design which is just a cop out imo. Not excited at all.

That's what I'm thinking. This should be a major revision year and I just don't see that wow factor with the current rumors.

Eh, this iPhone doesn't have me really excited for it the way the others have. I was hoping Apple would have something really cool to pull me back to the iPhone (after I switched when my 3GS died), but based on leaks and how minimal of an upgrade iOS 6 is, it looks like I'll be going with WP8 instead. At least I'll still have my iPad to give me my iOS fix.

I am because it's the first iPhone I'll be getting. I am a bit excited for the bigger screen, but that's not really a factor for me.

As much as we already know about it, there is just as much we don't yet know.

I'm interested in the storage, RAM, camera, any surprise features, etc.

Anything to do with the camera is a big factor with me.

i totally agree on the cop out. Apple seems to be afraid of taking chances and going with the same formula. It's fine that they made an attempt to bring a larger display but to only make it taller seems a way to silence the critics and pacify those of who are asking for a larger display.

From the leaks I wouldn't be surprised if the called it the iPhone 4S XL.

I am pretty excited. Gonna sell my 4 to a buddy and get the 5 with that cash. I think the taller screen is going to make a bigger difference than many people believe. Also, I still think Apple has something in store for us that we don't know about yet like a better camera or wireless charging, otherwise the Lumia 920 looks really attractive in comparison.

Wireless charging strikes me as a possibility across all their iDevices going forward. I think that could be what the small unknown circle on the lower part of the new iPod Touch is for.

The 3GS will be discontinued. The 4 as well.
The 4S will be replaced by the 4SL, that's the model we all know now. Will be sold middle-priced, with full iOS 6 support and new connector.
Nobody has yet seen the 5

well :D just trying to have some excitement for the last 3 next days
