A little bit. I have an iPhone 4, and my contract is up, but...I don't see many new features that are all that important to me.

nope. it's basically a iphone 4s xl.

I've anxiously awaited a new iPhone as I'm out of contract and the iPhone 4 is feeling very slow these days. On the other hand the keynote will have to wow me as the leaks are certainly lending an air of incremental improvements only.

The fact is the new Nokia 920 has a wow factor that the latest iPhones have lacked, and so again, I'll need some convincing to stick with Apple this time around. I wont go Android since its just an iOS knock off.

Considering disappointment with iPhone 4S and iOS 6...yes because hopefully Apple is saving the best for last and no because most people probably have too high expectations for it.

What disappointment? I am happy with my 4s and am looking forward to iOS 6.

Oh. You meant YOUR disappointment. Thought you were blindly speaking on behalf of everybody.

Have you ever used a android phone ?! iOS and android are 2 different worlds lol a knock off ? Get a grip man and go to a store and try it again :p

You allready using ios6 :) the updates are pretty minor really, dont know why people make a big deal out of the new map app for example.

Don't get me wrong I will be getting one on launch day (as long as I can have it shipped). This year I am feeling a wee bit more enthused then the 4s. Bigger screen has been a long time coming, and seems to be the only big feature.

Over all though I'm just feeling a bit... I don't know "meh" I guess about the whole thing.

For the 1st iphone through the 4th I was foaming at the mouth, checking gizmodo every 15 seconds excited. I practically bit open the box when I got it home to get to my precious. This time I'm pretty ambivalent.

I guess it is just a side effect of years of having essentially the same smartphone. I don't really even know what feature would get my heart pumping in a new phone again. My 4s takes more consistently great shots then my highend point and shoot, the screen is like looking out a window, and hspa+ is faster then my home Internet was 5 years ago.

I guess some kinda hologram screen with a naked fortune telling Siri, 10 gigs of ram, and thinner then a credit card phone would have me standing in line.

Oh well I'm sure come the 12th, Timmy and the boys will probably light a spark, in my lump of coal, jaded heart. Then sell me on why I should be pumped for my now with slightly longer screen iPhone 5.

At least my apple stock will go up again lol.

What feature are you counting the seconds for?

Actually, it is quite exciting for me, because I'm on Verizon and having had LTE phones, the iPHone 4S sorely needs faster connectivity and phone + web simultaneous usage.

I'm also on unlimited so I can look forward to Skyping and Facetiming without worry.

iOS 6 is pretty meh, in general, but that's because iOS 5 already does so many things right. They're mostly just refinements.

One REALLY big feature to iOS 6 is iMessage universal integration, so Mountain Lion will also be able to receive at a phone number. Text messaging when at home or at a computer will be awesome.

LOL, that's like saying the iPHone 3G was just a slightly faster iPhone 1.

iPHone 5's new core capabilities with LTE are absolutely huge. In fact, if iPhone 5 didn't have LTE, I would absolutely be ditching my iPHone 4S for a Lumia.

I wasn't excited and in fact I went out and got myself and HTC one X to give android another try (previously tried a galaxy sII). I thought ICS would give me a better experience and tempt me to keep the one X over getting the new iPhone. My first couple days with the phone I was 80% sure I was keeping it, it was really impressing me and has a lot of features that I like. Over the next few days though I keep running into issues that are swaying me. I am now at about 80% sure I am just going to get the new iPhone instead.

I really thought I wanted a phone I could tinker with and get just the way I want, but it is starting to look like I just want a phone that works and is integrated into the way I keep up with everything (iCloud, iTunes, etc) so now I am really excited for Wednesday because I will be replacing my 4S/ one X with the iPhone 5!

I am :) I'm torn between the 4S and the 'iPhone 5', just going to wait and see the difference. If it's significant, I'll go for it!

People used to say want "redesign" iPhone few years back. The next gonna be a completely new iPhone compare to last 5 iPhones i.e. screen size.

And now what? saying it's iPhone 4S XL?

This is going to be the biggest selling phone in history
What does this have to do with being excited about the next phone?
Justin Bieber outsells tons of other "artists". Doesnt mean hes the best or even close to the best. You get excited about a product based on how well you think it will sell? Perfect customer for Apple I suppose...
Certainly Apple makes about the best quality phone out there, but also, years ago, the Ford Torus was the best selling car in America. That doesn't mean it's the best of what's available.
That pretty much sums it up.
It's already projected Apple will move 10 million units the first week.
Again, what does this have to do with anything? Why do you, personally, care how much Apple sells? This isn't a question about Apple stock.

To the OP's question: I was really excited about the prospects of the new iPhone 4, until we actually saw what it turned out to be. Quite a let down, so I kept my aging 3GS. Was excited about the prospects of the 4S (unrealistically, as it turned out) and it was quite a dud as far as I was concerned so I skipped that one too.

Broke down and bought a used 4 to hold me over and it's been doing just fine. I would enjoy a faster phone with better camera, but a larger screen is also a requirement and that, Apple just isn't delivering on with the stretched thing.

iOS6 looks like a snoozer as well, so I'm not excited at all. Mildly interested might fit because it would be an improvement over what I have now. But then, so would about every other phone on the market.

Yes, I am very excited. I guess it because I haven't used an iPhone in over a month. I love my Nexus but I looove my iPhone. I cannot wait to have a bigger screen. This 4.65" screen has me spoiled. However, I'll take the 4" screen though.

Im airing on the side of caution this time. I love my iPhone4 but if the leaked case is anything to go by this is not a revolutionary new phone but just a taller iPhone4.

If the leaks are indeed true I can't believe that's all they've done for 2+yrs. But then I guess the focus has been the iPad mostly.

I don't doubt that the iPhone 5 will sell in massive numbers.

The real surprise I hope for, but do not expect at all unfortunately, is that everyone has got it wrong about the form factor of the iPhone 5 because, I have to say, I'm pretty disappointed that it's such a similar design to the previous two generations.

I expect more from a company that is known for its innovation in design of both hardware & software.

Agreed I would be so happy if the leaked case is a dud that apple sent out and the new phone is even thinner with a new form factor

But we can already do this right now. I've done it bunches of times using iMessage in Mountain Lion. I turn on my MBP and when I open iMessage all my conversations pop up and update with everything that's happened since I last used it. It's a seamless operation between my iPhone (on iOS 5) and my MBP.

Unless there's going to be MORE functionality with iOS 6 that I'm not aware of, this isn't anything we don't have already. (・・?)

Uh, no. You can't get an iMessage on your Mac if someone sends it to your PHONE number.

I have yet to not receive an iMessage on my Mac. So either they're sending the messages to my Apple ID or.....? IDK.

I have my phone setup to receive iMessages with either my phone number or my Apple ID. Would that make a difference? *shrug*

Explain how Apple wil shift, say 25 million units a quarter without excitement.

You don't get that many people to buy a product without high enthusiasm.

$5 bucks says that the taller iPhone that's being leaked to date is fake leaks, and that Apple blows the crap out of the market with a phone that is better than anything on the market for years to come.

I was genuinely excited until Nokia announced the Lumia 920. Now I'm not excited by any phone anymore, so hopefully this helps with the excitement for when it actually gets announced.

I am :) I'm torn between the 4S and the 'iPhone 5', just going to wait and see the difference. If it's significant, I'll go for it!

There are always people that complain, no exception.

Instead of shrugging, you could open up Mountain Lion iMessage and try receiving a text to your phone number from a friend.

Not all all. Seeing that Apple had over 2+ years to redesign the iPhone....they failed miserably by only increasing the size of the screen and adding LTE

I'm feeling the exact same thing. When most companies spend 2+years redesigning a product it has a dramatic change.
