Yeah what is wrong with a modest bump in width as well? I use my phone in portrait mode 95% of the time so the added height may end up being more of a liability, then benefit. If I had to choose I would have gone with a slightly squat wider phone.

Wish we had at least one or two more shapes to choose from.

Then you really need to move on and forget about an Apple phone, you are never going to get a choice of two or more shapes.

I might be the only one here but I'm genuinely excited that this will be the smaller iPhone ever by volume and probably also the smallest smartphone on the market. I really love the way an iPod Touch fits into my pocket and this iPhone is one step closer to my dream.

Totally agree. If there's anything to be excited about it's the anticipation as to whether the leaks were true. But as for the leaked design and taller screen, this is really disappointing.

Give me examples of what would make you excited for the device? :)

For me it would take:
1. a true 4 inch screen or
2. 720p resolution
3. No two tone back-prefer aluminum or some other non-glass material
4. stereo speakers (yes on a phone)

Id also like to see:
get rid of the aluminum band around the phone. Its a scratch and dent magnet
better home button-mine has broken way too often
no more oleophobic coating

Lol, as if 4" isn't somehow 4".

I think you mean to say a 4" screen with a 2:3 aspect ratio.

Oh, and NOBODY can tell 720p resolution @ 4".

Probably won't see a 2-tone back

Good points!

My friend has a Nexus and while we may not be able to tell true 720p it looks a lot clearer than my 4S. It could be gadget envy though ha!

It will sellout right away and will be biggest selling phone launch ever, but people have too high expectations for phones, what do you want it to include to get you foaming????

I will be buying one for sure, bigger screen is a huge selling point

I just feel like they could easily do SOOOO much more. It's not like they don't have the money...

Things/Features they could include or add:

- More "widgets" for Notification Center
- Turn the Home Screen Search Page into the "Dashboard" and allow widgets there
- LED indicator
- Multiple Sizes: 3.5", 4.0", and 4.5" or some other combination to cover a larger majority of people
- More Battery (Always more)
- More Ram
- On/Off toggle in Notification Center (LTE, BT, WiFi, GPS, HotSpot, Airplane), allows to stay in current app
- Reduce the unused space above the screen so it isn't so long and narrow looking with 16:9
- Change the home button slightly to reduce space below the screen
- 802.11n 5GHz
- Quad Core Processor
- Thats all I can think of at the moment

Things they will probably point out as "features":
- Unibody, thinner: This is not something that is a big deal for me, I would prefer more battery
- New dock adapter: I get why they are doing/need it, but it is not a feature for me. Even if it is USB 3.0, my MBP is one model back from the current, and it doesnt even have USB 3... In fact, it just means I have to spend more money and deal with adapters for my existing equipment.
- Turn by Turn, this is a feature I will enjoy, but we should have had it long ago.

I am not hating, I love my iPhone and plan to buy the new one, I am just saying that there are PLENTY of things they can add or do to make the iPhone family better and even more pressure on Android and WP.

They may incorporate some of those for all I know. I am excited for tomorrow.

Not excited per se, just hoping it's not just a stretched ip4s.

Same here, but I will buy it either way. I enjoy the GS3, but there are too many times where it frustrates me that it isn't my iPhone. So Android isn't for me.

Give me examples of what would make you excited for the device? :)

Listed above.

Hmmm... I'm not really sure.

I'm always excited about new Apple keynotes. You'll never know what they have in their sleeve.

However, I'm going to have a new phone. And im 90% it will be an iPhone 5. My old iPhone 4 is dying slowly :D

So, I'm gonna follow the keynote tomorrow with excitement!

Just wishing that all these leaks we've been seeing are for the new iPod and the new iPhone blows us all away.

Of course I'm just building up my hopes and I know I'll be crushed tomorrow when I watch the stream.

I'm not particularly excited about this one, since I probably won't get it (I got the 4s so I'm not due for an upgrade yet). The leaked taller form factor doesn't seem that appealing to me, and my phone internet is plenty fast for now. I doubt I'll ever get the 5 unless it offers 128gb storage, tactile feedback and free tethering.

I wonder if Tim Cook will be able to effectively sell LTE and the narrow screen as "magical" and "game-changing" and "the world will never be the same" etc..

if you mean LED alerts ios 5 has that feature i used it on my iphone 4 until i was in a lot a dark places and the light flashes were getting annoying

Wow, this thread.

Anyway, I'm genuinely excited. My first iPhone... 5 years of jealousy and crappy alternatives... two and a half contracts... never have found a good case for any phone I've had... zero residual value for any phone after 12-24 months... never have really used the music players much on any device... never had reliable cloud backup... never gotten anything on Day One...

I'm so excited :D

Meh....not really, but it could be I can't recall hearing about anything really revolutionary. I'm more intrigued by the Samsung Galaxy S3 and it's feather weight feel in my pocket.

I'm more interested in the new iOS for my 4s.

I want to follow the announcement tomorrow, but I'm praying that every single rumor and mockup in recent circulation turns out to be false. A taller iPhone, 4" display? Um...NO.

Same old shape. Same old limitations in customizing the OS with widgets. Same old tired ideas rehashed yet another time. I'll pass on that.

I'd be super excited if I were able to upgrade at the upgrade price without losing unlimited data. That ruined it for me. I will not be upgrading unfortunately.

Yes there is. It utilizes the back camera LED.

thats what its called in the settings, so that is what im calling it, but if you could please tell me what an LED alert so i can know next time I am asked about this subject

A real LED alert continues to stay lit or flash until you clear it by checking the message that set off the alert. What Apple has implemented may be using the same name, it's not the feature everyone is asking for. At least one of you knew that and your smart ass response was a waste of text.

it actually wasnt a samrtass remark, but have you seen the LED light on the back of the phone, would you want your pcoket glowing in a dark room like movie theater if they implemented small red LED on the front they stayed on i would like that, but as it stand LED alerts for the iphone are just the LED flashing for the pop up of a notification.

Didn't mean you. Other phones have LED alerts and they are not an issue in theatres. In fact, the crazy LED flash on the iPhone is FAR more disruptive. I know because I have it enabled.
