There was the option to do so before (if you clicked on the very top where it said pre order from the web). Dont know if anyone got any orders to actually go through or not, but I was never able to. Now it just says problem connecting to the server and lets me make a reservation at the apple store.

The option is still there. It just times out faster than the website so people are thinking the app only allows reservations.
Since I was reluctant to 'trust' the iPhone app.....I went through AT&T website (finally it came back up)......got through the whole process. Even got the confirmation email from AT&T. It's going to be shipped to my house....screw it...I'll just work form home that day....
In the I/T industry if a web site is down for this long not allowing revenue someone should be fired!!!

Finally got my order placed from apple.com for delivery on the 24th. I have been at it for over 9 hours. lol
(Good thing I am the IT manager so it isn't odd for me to be on the computer all day)
got the order # (saved the "receipt" [web]page) and already been billed.
