Thank you! And you do not have any issues anymore now? No pixel shift or brightness change after wake up? And how do you disable dynamic in Big Sur?

Just got a new M1 Mini. Everything works great, only Ultrafine 5k shows as 3840x2160 in About and also Display settings are weird, default res is lower.

On Intel MBP everything works fine.

Is there any solution for this?

What port are you connecting with, Thunderbolt or HDMI?

Thunderbolt. Same cable as with Macbook Pro.

Are both ports the same on the Mini?
The HDMI port on the m1 Mini supports only 4K.

I've heard that the LG 5K can be fussy about the cable. I'm using the cable supplied with the 5K, no problems.

Mine is working flawlessly now - cross fingers.

There was a bit of pixel displacement initially but that has gone now. I am using the supplied thunderbolt cable and really would not have thought of doing anything else. I leave the mac mini running and allow the monitor to sleep. It used to take a few seconds to come on again but that has been shortening to just a couple of seconds the last time. I assume that the computer and the monitor are doing the usual adjusting to each other routine.

Having issues with my new M1 Mac Mini and LG 5K. The monitor refuses to wake after Mac is in sleep. Also, it has the pixel shift issue.

Anyone having these issues had their Mac Mini replaced? What was the result with the new machine?

I'm considering demanding a replacement if I know there is a fair chance of the new machine having no similar issues.

no need for replacement ! it is surely a software or firmware problem the replacement will not change anything !
if you want to keep your equipment ! must continue to put pressure on Apple and LG

for Apple do a bug os x report
Good luck

Thanks for the reply.

If that's the case, my gut feeling would be to return for a full refund. From what I'm reading in the forums, these issues have been happening since the M1 was launched and have still not been addressed by Apple. Perhaps a spike in refunds might make them take more notice!

I use my LG Ultrafine 5K with both my M1 Mac and 16" MBP. Pixel shift seems to happen a whole lot more on the M1. BigSur 11.3 pretty much eliminated it for the 16" MBP but it still persists on my Mini for some reason idk of.

Using hot corners to turn off the display does help to solve it though.

Hello

Saturday I restored my Mac mini with Apple Configurator 2 DFU mode using another mac and an Apple USB-C cable with the Big sur 11.5 RC ipsw file .

for the moment everything is working correctly

Does anyone have this problem with their setup? I tried replacing the cable but it does not fix the problem. Do people seem to think this is a Mac Mini problem or an LG problem? FYI my Mac Mini M1 16GB was part of the first refurb available for it earlier this year.

Just installed 11.5 hoping this will work well for me too. Am really tired at this point of the constant need to restart my Mac Mini.

Sadly I can absolutely confirm this to be true. Changed Anker's Thunderbolt cable (which worked flawlessly with the same monitor and MacBook Pro 2020 i5) with original LG's cable and now the correct resolution shows in /about.

Can anyone running an M1 Mac Mini with the LG Ultrafine 5k confirm if upgrading to Monterey solves any of the known issues? Such as:
• when waking the monitor can be full brightness?
• taking 5+ seconds to wake from sleep?
• the pixel shifting issue in the middle of the screen?
• apps (including Safari) being resized as though they were on a smaller screen?

To recap, I also have a 15" MBP 2018 that shows none of these issues when used with the monitor. To be fair, since the latest Big Sur upgrade (11.6 / 20G165) I haven't had the pixel shifting issue.
I can't update for a week or so, but I'll report back if I find the brightness/resizing issue fixed...

The first two items are still present for me to some degree on an LG 5K and a Pro Display XDR.

I can confirm that nr. 1 still happens. Not always, but just yesterday morning I noticed it.

The rest never happened to me on Mini + LG5k combo.

I have a 16" M1 MacBook Pro and an LG 5K Ultrafine monitor. Once in a while I notice that the LG is noticeably dimmer than I had set it to previously.

In this example I had the LG set to full brightness but it seemed more dim than expected. Going to the brightness slider and interacting with it causes the screen to actually go back to full brightness.

Has anyone else experienced this? Is there a way to check the firmware on an M1 Mac? LG Screen Manager doesn't work.

Happens every time I wake my M1 Mac Mini from sleep. Monterey still hasn't fixed this..
