Yes, in theory. In practice, however, it disappoints. And I'm not someone who needs to see new features for the sake of new features in an upgrade. I'd rather have an all maintenance under-the-hood upgrade and get fewer gimmicks.
I'm also not a huge fan of Sierra. It's beach-balling at me more than I'd like, so anytime High Sierra decides to grow up, I'd love to be back running it.
10.3.4 is in its late beta stages and should drop soon. I'd love to hear from the High Sierra crowd as to any positive changes that might be in the offing. I really loved the "Lock Screen" option in the Apple menu.

Nice set-up you got there.

So what glitches are you experiencing with High Sierra?
1. I am getting the occasional screen flicker to black for a brief second as if someone was logged into my computer via VPN or the graphic cards are switching back and forth due to load. I don’t think this is the hardware issue that some have brought up before as the defected graphic cards, but maybe it may. Seems to happen more with High Sierra. Noticed it occurs more frequently when Safari Browser is open in background. What I did which seems to minimize this (still happens at
Minimmal once a week) is set the power management to never sleep, unselect turned off display etc. (basically no power management) and also uncheck put hard drives to sleep etc. seem to help. I use FCPX almost daily for hours, so it is an occasional issue.
2. This issue could be the resent update to FCPX and High Sierra as it was not happening before:
After working for a few hours it seems like the timeline playback begins to shudder while playing, so I have to close out the program and then reopen. Then the timeline runs smooth again as if some graphic cache needed cleaning out...Did not have this playback issue with Sierra or with previous versions of High Sierra.
3. When selecting the “zoom in” keyboard command, FCPX closes out instantly -crashes. I have a logictech mouse program to zoom in to the timeline and this also crashes (thought it was the mouse but it also happened with the keyboard command (new Apple version keyboard). Both Apple keyboard and mouse cause FCPX to crash when selecting the zoom option. This does not happen when I select the “zoom in” option from the down drop menu by selecting, just the keyboard command and the physical mouse command. This started to happen “after” updating to the recent FCPX update and version along with the High Sierra’s last small update.
Tried solutions:
1. Deleted FCPX and reinstalled...still issues.
2. Restored from previous time machine - did not resolve.
3. A few months ago I wiped out High Sierra and went back to Sierra. No more issues with FCPX, but on occasion (but not as often - mimminal - screen flicker to black for a second. Installed High Sierra (tempted) again when .3 came out along with the updated FCPX version and issues began again...
I don’t want to wipe out and start from scratch to see if a fresh install will resolve the issues, but might when the next High Sierra version comes out.
FYI - I run SSDs external RAID (trimforce on) as my scratch for FCPX projects. Sierra - no issues with FCPX...High Sierra...acts high like it is smokin’ something.
I thought that since Apple still sells the Mac Pro 2013, things should work ok as they should be testing out FCPX on it before releasing versions of FCPX and High Sierra....guess my thing is just “high”.
