I am. Just cannot decide on storage size for the X.

:apple:

How much storage are you currently using? I thought I was using a lot more than I really was (using a 128GB 7 Plus), but with nearly everything being able to be offloaded to iCloud my storage needs have decreased significantly. Currently I have 10GB worth of pictures on my phone, HAD 9GB of music on my phone before offloading that, have 10GB worth of messages on my phone (this will be offloaded when iMessage in iCloud comes back), and the rest taken up by apps.

All said and done I was using a little under 50GB, but after I offload everything I'll be using just above 25GB. That means a 64GB X will have more than enough space for me. I don't mind offloading everything cause I've got unlimited data with T-Mobile, so I don't have to deal with overages or anything. Much cheaper to buy 50-200GB of iCloud storage for $0.99-$2.99/month and offload everything to that than pay an additional $150 for the 256GB model. If offloading things to the cloud works for you, then you could definitely live with the base model.

I am pretty much in the same boat as you. Thought I was using way more storage than I actually was on the same size iPhone 7 Plus as you. I also offload much of my "stuff" to iCloud, so a 64gb should be sufficient for me. I just do not want to get a 64gb and have all these amazing ARkit apps come out and download a ton of them and use more space for Apps than I usually do. Probably will not happen, but that is just my one worry. 256gb will be absolute OVERKILL for me, that is why it is a shame Apple did not come out with either a 64-128-256 config, or a 128-256 config. More than likely 64gb for me.

Had briefly thought about downsizing to an 8 since I want a smaller form factory but I just really want an X and have no problem waiting.

Is anyone here upgrading from the 7 Plus to the X? Kinda feeling scared as reddit and some posts here are all warning me it’s a much smaller screen than my Plus but I really feel like handling that new tech so very conflicted whether to get this or get a Note 8 which has similar technology but without the screen size issue. Is anyone here making the jump? So I feel like i am not alone.:p
I went from 6s Plus to 7 and now to X. I don’t miss my Plus at all. The phone was too big to use comfortably. I look forward to embracing a new form factor and one handed size.

there was a good reason for not including the 128gb. More profit!! imagine most 128 users going to 256 and spending more money... Pissed that they are forcing us 128 guys to do this, but from a profit stand point, it is smart.

Obviously, I know what Apple was aiming to do which is what you pointed out. I am also just as pissed as you! Yes, from a profit aspect it is smart, however, I think if they did 64-128-256 they would have done just as well, or done 128-256-512, which that would be a little risky. I do not know how many people honestly need a 512gb iPhone, however, there is one thing I am sure of...people would buy a 512gb iPhone...just do not know if they would sell enough as most would go for 128 or 256. 64-128-256 would have been jackpot! Oh, I forgot...also the increased price of flash memory (which I think might be made up a little bit) is what is adding to the cost. Oh well, I am dishing out the cash to Apple heavy with buying the Apple Watch Series 3 LTE/GPS and another band in September, and then on October 27th pre-order a $1,000+ iPhone X.

ya, i also think the better the video and pic quality the more room we will need to store. But it also makes them more on there services dept cause now we will also need more icloud storage. in 5 years 512gb will be the norm... This whole thing is going to cost us more across the board. I wish i didn't want to use iphones anymore so i could tell them bye, but i am like you. stuck complaing on the front end, and taking it on the back end...lol.

Going from 7 plus to X, want the higher dot pitch and pixel resolution OLED. It'll be an adjustment, but its worth the upgrade.

I am. Not so patently waiting on a iPhone 4s to hold me over from my 7 Plus I sold. But can't wait for the X everything I want in a phone camera, form factor, oled, other advanced tech(FaceID, A11-AR). :)

I had an unlocked T-Mobile matte black 256 sold it for 720$ about 2 weeks ago. Stayed for sale at 750ish then got a good offer. Sold on craigslist although swappa might be more comfortable for some people.

Geez you got decent money for you 7+, I got 590 for mine when I sold it 2 weeks ago.

I was really keen on moving on from my 7+ to a X, but reading through this thread has opened my eyes to a few things. The screen is thinner and theres more of it, the overall size is smaller which leads me to believe it'll hold a smaller battery ( I haven't looked into this ) which got me thinking hows battery life going to be compared to a + size phone. now I'm sorta confused lol

It has a larger battery than the iPhone 8 Plus and has to do less work due to not having any downsampling

Yup bigger battery and will last 2 hours longer then the 8+ they say. The phone is more efficient specially the screen..

$720 Holy crap. That’s a 256 tho, did you have box and all cords even headphone adapter? I was hoping to get $600 for my 128 at least and craigslist is what I was thinking..Do you guys do a battery test to see how it is before you sell? I just did and mine is at 414 charging cycles out of 500. So it’s coming to the end of its life. Right when time to sell..lol

I guess it’s just what the market here was doing. Love that apple resale value. :)

I had the box headphones and black silicone apple case. I did have apple care plus though. Honestly I just chucked it on craigslist for what I thought it would sell for, got the highest offer after it was on for two weeks.
