Yea I’m upgrading from a 7 Plus to the iPhone X, the screen size is bigger than the Plus at 5.8” however the device itself will be smaller than the 7 Plus due to the very slim bezel.

When a company lists the screen size of any device, they are listing the diagonal of the screen. Regarding the iphone X, the screen is actually smaller than the plus models. The width of the display is the EXACT same size as the width of all 4.7” models.

Nope. The screen is too small. I will wait for the iPhone XS Plus starting at only 1.499€ for 32 GB next year

I agree I would like the larger form factor next year as well, but I don't believe Apple will offer anything under 64 GB with the iPhone X next year. 32 GB will likely be phased out all together.

after looking into things a little more I'm not so sure I want the X anymore, the only upgrade I see is the silly animal emoji guys and a screen that may have burn in issues. I'm lost....

Not according to Rene at iMore who had hands on with the iPhone X, he states that "It's about the size of an iPhone 7 or iPhone 8, but it has a screen bigger than iPhone 7 Plus or iPhone 8 Plus." https://www.imore.com/iphone-x

I will be definitely! Camera alone = top notch on the iPhone X. The iPhone 8 Plus which my friend has I've been testing it and is way better than the 7 Plus so definitely the X will have some nice improvements.

As for the notch, I'll get used to it very quickly. Most of the time I use my phone in portrait, with that kind of size ratio 18:9? or something. it's not wise to use landscape due to the larger ratio integer alone so it's okay. For landscape I prefer my iPad, much more manageable size.

Price wise, I'm still debating between 64 and 256GB. 1579/1829AUD is hefty at first especially the top tier model, but if my friend is able to I want to get them to bring me one from Japan, it's so much cheaper there, w/o tax I think it's almost 1479AUD which is so much cheaper :(. I don't really do video recording often, maybe just a bit for fun and I export into dropbox immediately to save iCloud space... So I'm more inclined towards 64GB since I use maybe 10-15 actual apps frequently with the others in and out (the other 10). Hardly store videos in my phone that long, maybe I will upload 2-4 to watch via iTunes sync, and delete/remove it after finishing so it's about 5-10GB or so+ [30 minutes each at 1080p resolution]...

Only reason I'm contemplating waiting for my friend to get it for me at Japan is because I don't really need Applecare, 300AUD is absurd and that doesn't even factor in the actual repair costs (battery change, glass change, new device , I'll have a case on it on day 1 with probably a glass screen protector. so technically I have not needed applecare since the 2015 iPhones+ A case will do fine. Plus I'm a sucker for ocd so I like my glass clean and safe, a csae will do that. one fumble is all it takes to send your repair costs sky high... [eg broken glass]

I am kinda sick of the 7 Plus size ratio now after awhile and , the iPhone X will be a great addition. <3 At first I liked bigger phones but due to the bigger bezel I'm kinda looking for a newer design so this fits the bill since I want a more manageable size and the iPhone 8 isn't that.

Face ID i'm willing to learn through it easily, I will manage it easily. As long as you know the tech, you'll adapt quickly and you don't complain. That is normally how I roll. Sure I will miss TouchID but I like something new I guess. Plus I'm still quite fond of the 4 pin digit code haha so that can work in my favor one way or another.

Animojis look fun but definitely not the dealbreaker as it is. It's a nice touch, but it isn't essential but to me more of a gimmick... personally.

I guess it’s just what the market here was doing. Love that apple resale value. :)

I had the box headphones and black silicone apple case. I did have apple care plus though. Honestly I just chucked it on craigslist for what I thought it would sell for, got the highest offer after it was on for two weeks.

Ya I had mine on craigslist for almost a week and all I got was low ball offers. In my area if I asked more then 600 they would say Oh I can spend the extra cash for a 8. So I had to take less but I also had the box and all of the cables, headphones and apple care + too. Also I had the Jet Black 7+ so everyone would try to get the price down and then say sorry I don't like Jet Black.

Better be, apps are getting larger and the apps easily take up a solid 10GB already [considering 25-30 of them+ including documents and data]... so essentially left with ~18GB or so which is not much for music videos etc.

Yes, but we will also lose a bit of width.

To be honest, the 7 Plus width was starting to get to me... Used to like it first year upon getting, but now i think it is a bit too fat. Put on a durable case [not a thick shock resistant one] and it gets even harder :p

Again is all personal tastes, some will like 7 Plus due to the big size irregardless of the fat bezels but some will welcome that change of a lesser bezel look for easier manageability. I think, one handed usage will become more obvious with the X as far as the hands on reviews are concerned.

Can't wait for the X. Higher resolution screen, smaller form factor, Face ID, and gesture based UI. The top and bottom chins on the 8 look terrible compared to the X.
