i don't know if this is in my head or if the keyboard is already starting to give out. the keys suddenly got 'mushy' and less responsive.....
sigh, god i hope this is in my head and i've just been typing too long on it and not the keyboard actually faltering. for the first week i loved this keyboard, it felt amazing, but i know everyone said it doesn't last, and wow i didn't think it would start to degrade within weeks of purchasing the damn thing.
is it possible or is this in my head?
In my unit I have seen following things.
Within first couple of weeks I had S key getting stuck few times but it came back after hitting it several times. It happened few times but then I haven't had issues with it for over a month now.
Then my I key has been acting up and even some keys around it also feel a bit different at times. The problem with I key was that it got stuck in up position and when using a bit more force I could hit it down and it make loudish clicking sound and then hitting it several times again it was working ok. Later on I noticed that while I key worked it make very loud sound compared to the keys next to it, even when pressing it lightly it was like two times louder! Again it was fixed by hitting the key with varying force for like 20 times. I also tilted the machine while hitting the key and tried some compressed air in case there was some debris (I never eat around the machine, so unlikely but just in case I tried). Then I key was again functioning as usual and it made similar sound as surrounding keys. But that has happened again maybe 3-4 times after that, usually after when machine has been running very got. I got it working with the same procedure as before. It think it is heat related issue, maybe this new nylon material acts different way under high heat than the previous silicone they used, since I had no issues with my Air 2018 keyboard never.
Lately all the keys have been working pretty well and I think they are getting somewhat more "loose", so maybe they just need some break-in.
Also the trackpad seem to react to heat somewhat minimal way.
