wow, I went back and read my own post. I can haz grammour/spellink? haha

anyway, I agree with an earlier poster. I think anyone offended by the term "fan boy" or "fan girl" or "newb" is overtly sensitive if they find that to be an attack.

For a real example of a fanboy, you should check out the endless postings of "NonZealot" on ZDNet. A warning that more than a few reads of his/her posts over time can cause your blood pressure to elevate. :D

Haha, he's a legend. If you ever need to kill a few hours and brain cells, check out any blog post on ZDnet that has over 50 comments, it's inevitable a geeked out pissing contest, with NZ usually leading the pack.

EDIT: my $0.02 on the 'fanboy' issue - it's a simple ad hominem attack, nothing that any self confident person should let bother him or her, IMHO.

Edit 2: Just to throw it out there, I'm a proud fanboy of Apple, TiVo, Razer, Amazon, Kindle, ScotteVest, Blizzard, Plex, Monoprice, Tom Bihn, Merrell and Diet. Mt. Dew :)

i have to say that i have not been called a "fanboy" literally online in MR, but in real life, i've only been told that like 5 times ever when i got into a fight with a PC guy....:p

probably they call people fanboys, for those who know the tech aspects of their macbook straight out of their head.

:p
