The silver ring represents your eternal love and affection, a symbol of your unending partnership with Apple. The ring cannot be reassigned to anyone else, of course.

Nah, the silver ring is not related to the red back. It comes with the white bezel. But then you knew that already, eh?

Wait a minute...

The gold iPhone has a gold ring right? And so on?

Yes, that's right.
Red is special - but then you knew that already. White front with a red ring... Now that would look goofy.
You could always paint the ring red yourself. Good luck with that. :D

Yeah actually a red ring wouldn't look good IMO. Glad they did silver.

What a bizarre thread, and what a sense of brittle masculinity....

But then, it is a thread started by the OP, who has started several unusual threads.

However, a reminder in the form of a historical foot-note might be worth mentioning: In the 19th century, cultural constructs meant that dashing red was regarded as a 'masculine' colour, while tranquil blue was deemed 'feminine'.

I'm late on reading and commenting past this post so forgive me if this has already been stated; opinion.

I think you/said-guy needs to check about themselve first and foremost of what they like, what their comforable with, and what their comfortable/happy in choosing their choices and disregard what others think. You cannot change their opinions, only show them another opinion and hope they may agree or respect it. It's all about you - without needing to be disrespectful about others. You do you ... let them be them!

When all else fails ... co-ordinate and have fun with it:
Suit ... red tie and hankerchief
street ... red Kobe XI's and T and cap or Jordan 6's and the same.
Bonus if you're a bright headed ginger, spike the hair if you can.
red ferrari gloves if you're driving in any above scenario.
Thunderstorm date ... red topped umbrella,
you get the idea!

Do you .... but if you feel it's not up to fashion par ... do it in your own style ... this way you're always comfortable :D
Red is not limited to any gender. It is the most stunning eye catching and attention getter color in the color world. I love my red iPhone as it is the most beautiful gorgeous iPhone color ever made and keeps getting attention all the time as I love to have all attention I can get :)

Don't ever let the opinion of others prevent you from enjoying the things you enjoy. My only caveat: if your enjoyment comes from the suffering of others - then seek mental help.

Liking the color Red and wanting a red phone shouldn't be an issue. If a girl doesn't like you because you have a red phone then she's not the girl for you and the sex would suck if you tried.

Rid the world of these stereotypes by doing what you like and not what you think other people will think of you for your decision.

Red iPhone goes beautifully with a black case. It just shows enough of the red to accent the edges of the phone

Agreed. Black is a man's color. OK ok ok.... black is my favorite color. lol. Red with a black case... yeah that's awesome. Had a classmate with this exact setup and had to say it looked NICE. Yes, he was a guy.

What I can’t believe is, this has gone on for 5 pages.

Makes at least two of us :).
