Been slow for me all evening, thought it was just my temp internet, but other sites load quickly.

Starting to show intermittent slowness to me now. Earlier I was fine all along while on my office fiber. Now I'm on my Sprint MiFi and I see the difference.

I'm confident once they get through the upgrade and server work all will be fine again.

It's been intermittently slow for me, too. Things zip along for a minute or two, then slows way down for several minutes at a time.

I've made some adjustments just now.

So let me know how it goes.

Hi,
just out of curiosity (and ignorance on my part), how did you change your profile page to red?
Are you stalking me? That's OK, I like it. :p

See here....

Edit: Oh, that's right, it's part of the "contributor's perks"
so i guess it's safe to say that i paid for it :)

Yep. Graduated from Сталкер - Академия in 1997 or 1979.

Hmm, as you seem to be able to use HEX numbers for colours, I could get orange. Does the whole forum appear in red for you or only your profile page?

if you have a color in your user name it changes it to that. :p

Then mine should be bright as that spinning binary star system in Cepheus.

I'll look into the timg thing.

The forums were loading images off of the forum servers rather than our image server, resulting in dozens of extra http requests from the forum servers than necessary. It's possible these extra calls may have overloaded the forum servers, especially since we are down one server at the moment. I've moved them off to our image server again which is optimized to deliver static content.

Thanks.

Does that mean, if one hosts images, one links to via IMG or TIMG tag, on external servers (Tinypic, Flickr, ...), it would not reduce the load?

Nah, these are vbulletin images and scripts. So they load on every page.

Hmmm... it sped up for a while, but it's back to being dog-slow for me (there are worse things; I love my dogs ;) )

Other sites remain zippy.

Well, the forums are very responsive now. So maybe it is load-related; fewer people are viewing right now.

For me, it works perfectly fine in terms of speed, but I do get the occasional complete grind to a halt, but it's probably my Internet connection as it doesn't happen very often.

Seems fine for me.

Not a big deal, but when I click a "Edit Post" button, it won't load on the first time, so I have to click it again, and then it goes to the Advanced Edit. Might be my computer, but it just started happening today....
