I’d ask Apple Intelligence what to do, but we all know it’d just suggest I buy more Apple products.
Honestly, these tariffs are just a high-stakes game of chicken—nobody really wants to crash, so a deal will get done.
In the meantime, I’m enjoying the market turbulence. I make money when things go down, too.

i upgraded a week ago to the 16 Pro max as i got it on sale and from the rumors I dont see anything super major coming from Apple.

He's been in office less than 100 days. I think if his policies work it will indeed lead to a new era of American prosperity. But it will take much more than 100 days to know. I think it will work. Companies want American dollars, and with tariffs now on the table - the only way to realistically get them is to do business in America. That means more money for the USA. Cheap offshoring is no longer an option.

As far as the federal government yes more than 50% of it could go away tomorrow and nobody would ever know the difference unless they were a federal employee, or on the dole. Just don't listen to the CNN FUD and you'll be fine.

So are the Americans, who have been and born bred to idealize white collar values and aspire to being business owners and entrepreneurs--suddenly going to decide to go back to being factory workers? I really do not think any American is willing to work in even doubly as good as the conditions that Chinese factory workers are willing to work.

Offshoring is a symptom, not a cause.

Your ideal of American prosperity is either a 14hr factory shift in grueling conditions, or a $3,000 iPhone.

Only one thing is certain - prices aren’t going down. If someone is planning on a new device this year, now is the time to get it - especially if it’s a custom built Mac, because those ship direct from China.

Prices will increase in the US, but probably not elsewhere. As a consequence, buying (almost) any product will be cheaper outside of the US.

You are lucky to have excess cash. When you retire things are a bit different. Count yourself among the rich that don't mind plunging retirement accounts.

As horrible as Apple's software has been lately, if they have the gall to raise prices I'll just keep what I have all the while longer. They've been selling the same iPhone for like 6 years now, maybe they'll actually innovate again to justify the higher prices. Making bigger camera bumps and bigger notches obviously won't get me to upgrade.
The “gall to raise prices” because of something not under their control? Huh?

I am hoping that Tim Crook will not put the price up everywhere to offset this bullet … As I am buying my products in the uk … Otherwise I will upgrade my 13Pro to a 15Pro refurb …
Regarding what Trump as done, I can’t blame truthfully but could have given time to negotiate before shooting …

I don’t think iPhone manufacturing is coming to the U.S. and China might strike a deal well before iPhone 17, but it won’t happen overnight. Alternatively, Apple could ramp up production in India, should the admin make a deal with India first. However, is India ready? I don’t know.
India may not yet be in the cards due to quality control issues, at least from what I have read. I've heard similar complaints from industry professionals whose production lines were moved to India. Awful quality control overall.

Nintendo will lose a lot of money if the tariffs stick and they can’t sell in the US.
I think it's unlikely they won't be able to sell in the US at all, the issue is having to charge a much higher price. It'll be annoying for them if they have to, but it'll be equally bad for all their competitors, and I'm pretty sure they'll have a lot of buyers in the rest of the world (I literally just preordered a Switch 2 myself).

That's something Siri would like to aspire to doing. It can barely address questions regarding basic product use. It continues to trip over the bar of mediocrity it has set for itself.
