Well I for a fact could care lesser and lesser about the watch anymore day by day. Sure I was excited about the watch and Lord knows yall know that in here... lulz. but then I realized there's the iPhone 6S plus and iPad mini 4 I could look forward to this year and it's right around the corner. iPhone still trumps everything.

Anyways, I'm starting to see more and more people losing interest with the watch or they are finding out the reality of the use or lack thereof the watch. Surely there's buyers remorse going on right now. Who's planning to return their watches? Discuss.

Hmm, not me. I've only had mine for two days but I love it. It's not fair to compare it to the iPhone and iPad as it's a companion device. It's not perfect but then nor was the first generation iPhone and iPad.

It's definitely not for everyone. It's a device that enriches the user experience but doesn't add many necessities. That said, I used it for directions yesterday and it was just truly amazing to get the taptic feedback to tell me when to turn etc.

Not a chance I'll be returning it.:D

That's awesome... More will follow suit.

Why is it awesome? I'm indifferent about another person's choice on a gadget. If you don't want the watch then that's perfectly OK. What's your agenda?

Not for me

I've been watching the forums for the last six months or so. Ordered the watch at 8:01am UK time on the 10th and received my watch on 24th.

For me, it's great. I realise people's views differ. And that's fine. However, I posted before it's release the following. I thought I had understood how the watch would work and, thankfully, all of what I said, has come true.

Since Friday I have used my iPhone 6 less and watch more. And at the end of each day I am finding the watch has c. 30 - 40% battery life (which is what I expected, given the amount of notifications I receive, the 1.5 hour walk with the dog, the at least 30 minute treadmill work-out) and the iPhone 6 battery has increased to at least 50% at the end of the day. On average I get up at 7am and go to bed at 12am.

What I said in March....

"My view is this will be useful for me. And I realise it will not be useful to everyone.

Why?

1. Because I want something small that I can use to count my steps (I try and do 10,000 a day) and the watch will tell me this. I will not need to take my iPhone out with me for the steps to be counted. I do not need to know where I have been (therefore I do not need GPS on the watch) as I will have just been there. I realise some people DO want to know where they have been on a map and that is fine. But for me, it is about how far I have walked / calories burnt etc not the route I have taken. I did once have a GPS watch but found it more useful for measuring how far I'd walked not WHERE I'd walked.

2. I want to listen to music during my walk with the dog and having the storage referred to gives me 200+ tunes to listen to with bluetooth earphones. More than enough for 10,000 steps.

3. I always wear a watch for telling me the time / date. Tick.

4. I actually do not think the watch I will purchase (£339) is expensive compared to some models of watches I own. And given what I have said above, the Watch will do much more that will prove to be useful. Would I pay £600+ for a watch? Probably not but hey - I don't have to.

5. In addition, I work from home and having the watch with me instead of carrying around my phone in my pocket, whether upstairs, in the garden etc, will be very useful. Including for counting my steps, answering messages, quick calls etc.

6. I sometimes use the treadmill in the house and at the moment to count my steps I have to carry my phone. Now I can leave it downstairs and use the watch, whilst still listening to music through bluetooth headphones (and of course still receive notifications).

7. I like the idea of directions when walking on the watch - when we travel I will be able to use directions on the watch, and keep my phone in my bag instead of carrying it in my hand which sometimes isn't a great thing for security reasons. Again I will also be able to receive notifications without taking the phone out of the bag.

I consider the watch will allow me to use the phone less and less.

So for my money the watch works a treat.

Just my two pence worth.

Shawn"

His agenda is to put down the watch, and people who own theirs cause Apple did not deliver it on the 24th

https://forums.macrumors.com/threads/1871344/

His gone from a huge fan to trolling posts, and having digs at apple and this launch. He says he will wait for the delivery, wasting everyone's time and take it back to apple to return it, cause it was not here on Friday. Beware.

Nice, is that a Casio?

:p

I don't know about Casio, but I know for a fact that Seiko makes dozens that look just like that, in automatic, quartz and kinetic. The one I used to have was automatic and cost under $200.

Personally, I'm over that that look, it's been way overdone. I also hate those clunky, vulgar (yet useless) bezels.

Just saying, carry on...

lol sorry if I want something I buy it because I want to play with it asap. I'm not paying, not to mention expensive, for me to suffer, get mad and angry. Not trying to spark anything I'm just saying.

Ok, just cancel your order so I and several others can get ours faster.

So, having read all the posts in this odd thread, my take is that the honeymoon generally is not over for those who have received the watch. For those of us not in the race because we feel we can't yet justify the cost and are still neutral, we seem to be following the early adopters with interest.

Yes, for all the thousands of people who find it too difficult, tiring or time consuming to take a few seconds and take their iPhone out to check a message or an email notification...Life changing!

Seems like Apple stockholders reply a lot nowadays. Praising any and every Apple product.
And what's so hard about taking out your iPhone to read a message? With the watch you first check your watch and then get a message to please continue reading on your iPhone ><
And if you get a bunch of unwanted Facebook or Mac rumors messages you clearly haven't set up those websites properly. That hardly has anything to do with needing an Apple Watch.
I'm still waiting for someone to justify having to wait a second before it shows the time....

My sentiments exactly.

Ahah, I see. I've had a look through his posts and I see what you mean. Thanks for the heads up.

I don't think I've seen a clearer case of sour grapes before in my life. You don't get it on launch day and now you hate it and want it to fail. How old are you again?

well this sour grape had his watch on launch day. I tried to appreciate my $700 purchase but in the end it just wasn't there. $700 is a lot of money for something that will have horrible resale value in a year.

At the end of the day, I still find the Apple Watch Venture... very interesting no matter if the watch suits me or not.

The dynamics are immense, Apples hanging it all out, spending vast amounts. The twelve page glossy center of the magazine Vogue ad, alone, is proof positive of Apples burning desire to obtain acceptance in the fashion industry.

Yet in big headlines today in The Verge and other articles already Jony Ive is backing up fast...

Changing his tune, now claiming Apple doesn't want to be in fashion. See the article it's a good read.

Respectfully...

Perhaps you don't know Apple as well as you think. I said back down, I didn't say cut out the hype.

But Apples tradition of calling things like the iPad during its launch "Magical & Revolutionary" was a bit much.

That Verge article needed a good editor. If Singleton published that without consulting one, he's a lousy writer.

If he consulted one, their editors suck.

Anyway...all companies hype product. There's no law in the tech world that says they have to back up their flowery marketing language. They're selling consumer tech, not pharmaceuticals.

Apple Watch is an amazing product and it has already changed lives.

BUT I think it's a failure as a fashion product. I think Apple really messed up in trying to market the $550+ products as high-end fashion.

Anyway, the Apple Watch Sport is amazing and worth every penny. What an amazing product.

I don't think they intended to sell many Edition models. And if people see celebrities wearing a 17k Apple Edition, many of them will run out and buy an Apple Watch or Apple Sport because that is what they can afford.

And what Apple expect to sell the most.

I'm on day 4 with my watch and I think I'm finally using it the way it's meant to be used. It hasn't changed my life dramatically. However, it has saved me time that I would have wasted on my phone because when I look at my phone for a notification I spend way more time on it than necessary. I knew anything important would come through on my watch, and I'm glad it's weaning me off unnecessary phone time. I can see the benefits for anyone who spends a little too much time staring at their phone and not enough time doing things, as well as the people who can't easily access notifications on their phone because it's not always handy.

At first, I wished the native apps on the watch could do more. Now I'm glad they don't, although there are a few things I still hope for, such as replying to emails. I think my $399 watch would have been better at $299, at that price point there would be a lot more people buying one in the upcoming months which would make it more fun for those who have a watch. Overall, I like it a lot and it's making my life more convenient, like the iPhone and iPad did.

I think it's true that many people were expecting a tiny iPhone. At first, I noticed a lot of things that were missing from the watch that I could do on the iPhone. Now that I can stop playing around with it, I'm more able to see the bigger picture of what the watch will do for me and why the things I thought were missing are not needed. It has a tiny screen, if I have the opportunity to be browsing anything I can get my phone out. I find that my interactions last a few seconds each, and that's what the watch is for. Living life (hopefully more meaningfully without looking at phone all day) and doing some things that need to get done asap without breaking your stride.

I'm loving my watch!!! I have had it since Friday and although it hasn't changed my life and I may not necessarily need it I still highly enjoy it. With the capabilities and the look of it makes it a great buy!

HMMM. Well it is clear that the Watch is NOT for people who only want it IF they can show off that they got it on Day 1 and that's the only reason they wanted it. Once they lost their brag factor where they clearly seemed to want to just run around showing off how important they are because they have one.

Now that they lost that they just seem to want to come here and say how superior they are because they are too smart to get the watch.

The rest of us who like the look and the functionality are quite fine in our happiness to have and use the product. I like it a lot more than my Pebble. I have found it is so nice to use it for most of my texting and I have learned new tricks with Siri that I love. On Friday I actually only had to say "Hey Siri, when I arrive at Costco remind me to buy cat food". I forgot all about that (and the cat food) until I drove into the Costco parking lot and it gave me the reminder. LOVED THAT.

Awwww, poor little baby didn't get his order. Grow up. You're post history is you just complaining over and over about not having

Move on

:rolleyes::rolleyes: some notification I got that a box is coming tomorrow....:rolleyes::rolleyes:

LOL good point.. I approve

YAYYYY I'm so excited... someone please contain my excitement. LMFAO

Part of my buying experience is my excitement to get the item on time and be able to play with it when it arrives. That's clearly not the case here. The honeymoon is fading, I'm already losing interest. It looks like people are posting more and more issues here too.

You could have something there - thought about cancelling today for the first time. I get caught up in the hype with these things and now the hype has escaped me as I sit and watch the Processing status go on and on.........

:rolleyes::rolleyes: some notification I got that a box is coming tomorrow....:rolleyes::rolleyes:

Hate this launch date... I hope more people would start returning their stupid late watches.

You going to follow up with this? God. I'd be surprised if you're a day over 13.

..[snip].. $700 is a lot of money for something that will have horrible resale value in a year.
Life isn't a zero sum game to everyone. You have to pay to play and you can't take it with you. My money is spent and I don't plan on seeing it again. IF I see part of it some day, then that is extra beer money.
