Indeed. Also, a lot of people are getting it with the false impression that this is going to be an iPhone on your wrist. Take the guy that said about Instagram above. Totally misses the point of the device.

Yeah. It's not designed for all that. Can you quickly scroll through Instagram on it, though? Yup.

I get my FB messenger notifications on it. Which has kept me off FB because if it's not important enough to pull out my phone, I can just disregard it and keep on trucking. ;)

I bought it for the things it can do right now. If they add more to it later via software and app updates? I'll use it for those things, too.

Apple won't let the honeymoon die. They've got too much on the line, if only their ego and propensity to brag. Always clever, they'll find lots of ways to buy success.

We'll see there's already a lot of buyers remorse, canceling and returning. It's comical. KARMA.

The only reason for me not to like it is disappointment. That's good enough. But I'm just saying, in general I've seen a lot of threads with negative input about the watch. Hmmmm.

----------

I checked on how many threads you have started and their nature. Wow. This watch is most definitely NOT for you. You would be absolutely foolish to have it. You will be knocking it even more than you are now.

I love my watch. I know what it can do and what it can't do. It's very obvious that many won't like it, mainly because they have unrealistic expectations. I'm not sure where you fall in this, but please, I beg of you, don't get this watch. You will be miserable and worse you will try to make those of us who love it as miserable as you will be with the watch. It won't work, but we won't enjoy watching you try to do it. Bye.

I officially divorced my Apple Watch today. I realized these things are way too damn expensive for what they are. I couldn't accept the fact that my $700 Apple Watch wouldn't be worth jack probably by this time next year. luckily I was able to sell it for a very impressive profit. I then went out and bought myself a sweet MacBook Air that was on a crazy Best Buy sale for just a tad bit more than what I spent on my Apple Watch.

I figure my MacBook will be a much better reseller down the line vs the watch.

That's awesome... More will follow suit.

I make every effort to not bash any company.

Nothing ventured nothing gained. They've got to start somewhere when entering a new product category.

Over fifteen years as a very satisfied, frequent Apple Laptop buyer /user/enthusiast, I appreciate what they've accomplished.

Yet I must say it would be nice if they'd back down on the hype. :)

Completely agree. One day before the 8th a square box would show up at my door and I would care less about it. Lol

This product is HUGE.

People are paying well above retail for them all over the world. I doubt Apple is being dealt a karmic blow just because your watch didn't ship on the first day of your 2-week delivery range.

Sounds good to me. I do have a feeling that the resell value on these will be worse than the average Apple product. I just can't see anyone paying even $400 for a year old $700 SS Apple Watch.

That's why I went with the Sport 42, and I may get rid of mine before the two week return window too.

I think that's because they can't find them in stores. Because Apple didn't send them out. Wouldn't count that as normal demand. This is the first Apple product in recent memory that you can't walk into a store and buy on day one.

The honeymoon will probably be over by the end of this week for those of us that got our watches on Friday.

Then a beautiful, long term, slow burning relationship will begin.

I don't really think that's an indicator. You couldn't preorder the iPhone 5s, and they had pretty much NO stock of silver or gold and a ton of space gray.

These things happen with new products, and the iPhone was well established.

When the first iPhone and first iPad were released, the sales figures were lower than with the Watch.

I know it's not for everyone, but it's hardly a Newton.

What company "backs down the hype" when they want to sell a product? That's not smart marketing.

I think it was 2 months after launch before I could walk into my Apple Store and get my iPhone 6 Plus with 128 Meg's.

At the end of the day, I still find the Apple Watch Venture... very interesting no matter if the watch suits me or not.

The dynamics are immense, Apples hanging it all out, spending vast amounts. The twelve page glossy center of the magazine Vogue ad, alone, is proof positive of Apples burning desire to obtain acceptance in the fashion industry.

Yet in big headlines today in The Verge and other articles already Jony Ive is backing up fast...

Changing his tune, now claiming Apple doesn't want to be in fashion. See the article it's a good read.

Respectfully...

Perhaps you don't know Apple as well as you think. I said back down, I didn't say cut out the hype.

But Apples tradition of calling things like the iPad during its launch "Magical & Revolutionary" was a bit much.

Apple Watch is an amazing product and it has already changed lives.

BUT I think it's a failure as a fashion product. I think Apple really messed up in trying to market the $550+ products as high-end fashion.

Anyway, the Apple Watch Sport is amazing and worth every penny. What an amazing product.

Just like any new toy. After a week... Honeymoon stage will be over.
Same thing happened to me with my pebble. But even tho honeymoon is over. I can't see myself without a smartwatch anymore. You will appreciate your watch again after you forget to wear your watch one day or you forget to charge it and battery dies in the middle of the day.

Yes, for all the thousands of people who find it too difficult, tiring or time consuming to take a few seconds and take their iPhone out to check a message or an email notification...Life changing!

Seems like Apple stockholders reply a lot nowadays. Praising any and every Apple product.
And what's so hard about taking out your iPhone to read a message? With the watch you first check your watch and then get a message to please continue reading on your iPhone ><
And if you get a bunch of unwanted Facebook or Mac rumors messages you clearly haven't set up those websites properly. That hardly has anything to do with needing an Apple Watch.
I'm still waiting for someone to justify having to wait a second before it shows the time....

I don't think I've seen a clearer case of sour grapes before in my life. You don't get it on launch day and now you hate it and want it to fail. How old are you again?
