I heard you can call the store (if you are picking up) and they can confirm you are on this list. I tried calling this morning....no awnser.
 
Well I just called my local Apple store to confirm my reservation and they said my reservation was canceled!!! I'm so angry right now and waiting for a call back from the store manager.
 
is there a way to give my pre-order away to be picked up by someone else?

I got one online and don't need my in store reservation anymore.

I was wondering the same thing. I was able to get one online yesterday, but also made the reservation for my wife. Now she wants to wait for the white phone.

Wasn't sure if I could let a friend use my reservation.
 
I should also mention that the woman I spoke with said that I wasn't the first person who called in that had this same issue!
 
I did and I let the woman on the phone know that. I'll let you guys know what happens when the manager calls me later today.

I have the same deal. Received a thanks for reserving iphone email. However, I was able to click the cancel reservation link in that email, it just takes you to a page where you can edit the reservation or cancel. And that worked just fine. This morning I get an error saying the server can't be found. Called the apple store I was picking up from to verify and they don't see me in the system. So waiting a call back from a manager. Hopefully they can manually put it in. Also the store app only shows they aren't taking reservations for iphone 4. So let us know what you find out.

I went through hell getting my 3G, i'd rather not do the same for this one as well. Might be my last if this keeps up.
 
I made my reservation through the Iphone App yesterday around 3.

I got a confirmation e-mail that only listed the model of iPhone 4 I ordered no info on my plan or anything. I checked in the iphone app and my reservation is listed but not on apples website. When I called the local apple store the Employee I spoke with said that if you got a reservation e-mail that the phone will be there on launch day. Hope that calms people down a little bit. Good luck and have fun on launch day. Now I just have to find a coffee shop thats open before 6:00 in Albany for launch day.
 
oh brother, this is not good. i'm going to call my store later. the biggest problem of not knowing if the reserve is there is which line to stand on the morning of the 24th! i don't want to get there at 3am, then get in line and be in the wrong line!
 
My mom thought she reserved one yesterday afternoon. When I came on here and saw that everyone who is worried about their reservations, I asked her if she received an e-mail confirmation and that she should call Apple just in case to verify.

She called the 1-800-MY-APPLE number and the lady told her that you will not receive an e-mail confirmation and that she has to go into the store that she picked between now and the 24th to pay for the phone. Then she can pick it up on the 24th. I told her that this is not true because they will not let you pay for it now - especially since after coming on here, I noticed that they were not really guaranteed. She fought me on the e-mail confirmation, but I told her repeatedly that I have seen them. However, she insisted that since the Apple lady told her, I was was incorrect.

I insisted that she still call the store before going down. She called and they were unable to find her reservation. The person she talked to did say that she should have received an e-mail confirmation though...

She then tried calling the other Apple store in our area just in case, and they had her on hold for 15 minutes before coming back and telling her they could not find it. The person told her that there was no e-mail confirmation, and that if you received the page saying to bring your id, then you are good and guaranteed a phone. My mom was telling her that she did not want to come down there for nothing, and the person insisted that as long as she received that page, she was good. (My mom did not print out the page though.)

After she hung up, I told her to pre-order it and have it delivered to guarantee her a phone since she has to wait on line regardless of reserving or not. I still went on about the e-mail, but again, I am in the wrong. I then told her that when she gets to the store, they are going to go by her apple id, so if they can not find the reservation now, then they are not going to be able to find it then. They are not going to care about that page you saw.

Long story short, I feel bad for people who believe that they reserved and actually have not. Unless you have an e-mail and can confirm with that Apple store, you are most likely not getting one. This is unfair because if people knew this at the time, they could have gotten their phones before the shipping date changed.
 
Is the reservation showing up on Apple website? Mines isn't. And I got the e-mail yesterday.

i know this b/c i ordered one, got the confirmation email. then ordered a 2nd one, never got the confirmation email. i called the apple store, they saw my name for 1st one, but not 2nd. re-did the reservation, got the confirmation email, called apple store and they saw the 2nd name.

thank god i got mine in on time... i'll be picking mine up launch day :)
 
Well I just got back from the Apple store and I spoke to the store manager. She said there was a glitch in their system and she is aware of it. She mentioned it has happened to a bunch of people already including a few store employees.

The manager was very nice and said she will be there at 5 am on the 24th and will honor ANYBODY who has a confirmation email of their reservation. She did, however, mention that I should try and get there by 10am as she can't guarantee there will be enough stock for everyone who did have a reservation.

Lastly, she said there will be two lines, one for people who reserved and one for everyone else. As long as you have your email (or you're in the system) you will be able to stay on the reserve line and you will get a phone from the reserve stock. Hope that helps.
 
I'm in the same situation as the last couple people on here. I checked my reservation through the Apple Store app and it gives me an error saying the server can't be found. The same when I click "cancel your reservation" at the bottom of the confirmation email gives me the same error. I made a reservation at the Manhattan Beach store. I called them @ 7AM this morning and the person I spoke to on the phone said there was no way they could check if my reservation went through. He also told me that if I received the confirmation email I would be good to go. I don't really trust that though.
 
I have a question...My dad is the main account holder for AT&T but I am also an authorized account holder (got mine at AT&T by myself two years ago). Do I need to give them my dad's social security number or mine, since I am an authorized account holder???

You need the last four digits of the account holders (your dad) SS #. You need to be an authorized user just to change anything on the account (including extending your contract).

Even though it varies on store and who helps you, Apple will most likely not give you the phone. I went through this with a past iPhone, and they let me "slide".

There are multiple threads on here regarding this that will have better information for you.

They are lying as they can look it up!! :eek:
