I've been using a smart cover which works perfectly with the iPad as it was designed to.

For a sleeve, I was attracted to this undercover tablet sleeve. But I read a review that it doesn't provide as much protection as an actual jiffy bag. So for a sleeve, I'm using...a jiffy bag. I added some velcro to seal it and it works like a dream! Perfect size and protection and also gives me a soft surface to lay the iPad on while I'm using it.

I literally cringe......

Pics or it didn't happen.

Haha, I'll try to get a shot of a business man using one in the background with me projectile vomiting in the foreground.

I used a Smart Cover with my iPad 2 for about a month, and realized I hated it. So I go naked all the way...it just feels "right" in the hands, like a nice book that I can hold up with one hand.

Out and about I throw it in a Colcasac, which I love.

I'll be going iCarbon skin on the back plus a smart cover and Waterfield sleeve case. I also have a maroo moko on the way though.

I know at this stage iPad 3 cases are limited in the market at the minute and of course I want to keep my iPad as minimal as possible which is a stunning design and be a shame to cover it all up.

I went to poundland today and picked up a black neoprene zipped sleeve for a pound to use for the meantime and two screen protector a pound each in case I ruin the first screen protector when applying hah!

I would love to find a see through hardback shell for the back and maybe a smartcover

Is there anyone who's going to use the iPad naked with only a sleeve? No smart cover, no case, no stand, no screen protector, just using it naked with only a sleeve to protect it.

If there's anyone who's currently using this setup, do you wish you had a stand to prop your iPad up on when typing, or do you just hold the naked iPad in your hand?

yeah i plan on ripping a sleeve off my shirt, putting it on, and walking around nude using my new ipad

I'm not even going to bother with the sleeve.

I've had every iteration of iPhone (never mind any number of other phones), and both the iPad 1 and 2 and the ONLY one I've managed to damage was when I put the original iPhone in a slip case.

I did have a smart-cover on my iPad 2 for a while (mostly to keep the cats off the screen when I toss it on the couch), and it was nice as a stand but in my carry-on bag it just kept getting pushed off the screen.

Keeping the screen facing to the interior of my bag seems to have been all that's necessary to keep it pristine; and I've travelled extensively with the thing.

Your mileage mary vary of course.

After buying a few expensive cases, I am now currently using the Incase Origami sleeve. It is a sleeve and stand in one. ;)

However, if someone could make a sturdy one out of leather, I would be there in a heartbeat. In a professional field, the neoprene doesn't always scream professional. Just my opinion.

This one is absolutely beautiful. If I were still working I would buy it in a heartbeat.

Nope. This is my first iPad and I'm going to treat it with care. Smart cover on the front and a thin, non bulky shell on the back.

I will be using at least a smart cover. But I'm undecided on whether I want to put anything on the back, or even a case.

Just a question, for those of you who keep the back of the iPad pristine for future resale value...are you actually able to get more in resale value, enough to make up for the cost of the case? In other words, you buy a $50 case, are you actually able to sell the iPad for $50 more than if it had some scratches on the back?

It all depends on a variety of factors, including where you sell it (eBay, Craigslist, etc.), along with whether you include the stock photos or actual photos of your iPad. I was able to sell my iPad 1 to someone for a lot more than I expected to get because I kept it in pristine condition in its Apple case. I intend to go with just a sleeve this time, but I will take excellent care of the iPad, as I do with all my items.

What I dont' like about the smart covers is that the back of the smart cover itself (as in the "inside" that faces the iPad screen) becomes the "back" when you flip it open, which is then placed on a potentially dirty surface, only to face and touch the iPad screen again when you close the smart cover.

I plan on using a smart cover + iPad most of the time unless I take it with me somewhere (in a bag) in which case I have this sleeve which should accomodate the iPad + smart cover + small accesories so it doesn't bounce around in my bag or something. It arrived earlier this week and feels/looks nice for the price! :).

i can recommend the sleeves from radtech.us
always use them for my laptops, and have been using one on my 1st gen ipad for the last two years.

i ordered a smart cover, but i'll probably switch to a radtech sleeve eventually

I use the iPad in the kitchen, bedroom, at work and in public places and enjoy laying it down anywhere without treating it like a new born baby. So using it naken it not an option.

I like the peace of mind that full protection gives me. I can use the iPad without worrying about scratches or dents.

I do that now with the iPad 2 with only a smart cover, and I have no scrathces or dents. So my new one will be the same.
