Where are you ordering from and getting phones so easily and quickly?

I agree the returned one looked better.
I'm in the UK. I am ordering from Apple.com/uk
The estimated shipping times are way exaggerated. 3-4 weeks really means about 2 weeks.
I also bought one in the local Apple store.
There is no such thing as a perfect LCD mounted on an apple product.
The uniformity is lacking , and you will always have an edge of the screen more bright ( where de led light spreads over the whole screen ).
There are screens with less visible effect , people who don't notice , with ignorance or plain bad eyes sight.
I swapped MacBook retina screens, iPad "pros", normal ipads , lots and lots of iPhones and never found a perfect screen in apple camp, never.
If you want a perfect screen you have to chose an amoled screen.
Really? Because I'm in the UK, ordered on the 18th of September when it said 3-4 weeks delivery. My order status page still says 3-4 weeks delivery, yet the estimated delivery date is 24th-31st of October.
By my count that's actually 5-6 weeks, unless my abacus is faulty. It's been that way since the day I ordered, no change whatsoever.
Anyway, OP, keep trying. If your not happy with the phone, get it changed and changed again until you are happy with it. You're paying a lot of money for it so you should be satisfied. Good luck.
Even an amoled isn't what I'd call perfect. There's no real argument that they are/have potential to be much better than LCD. But they're not without their problems either. Especially long term, which admittedly isn't really an issue for most when it comes to phones.
But long term, OLED colours degrade at different rates, so after a while you start to notice the colours are a bit off.
They're not as bright as LCD either, though that definitely keeps improving. There's also still a small risk of burn-in, it's just an inherent issue with the type of technology. Though again, it's something that keeps improving. They can have a tendency to be over saturated as well, thankfully some companies, like Samsung are starting to include better controls for user adjustments.
Like I say, still better than LCD, but certainly not "perfect", not yet anyway.
At the moment there's just no such thing as a perfect display. We're still a ways off from that.
The technology with the best potential to get closer to perfect for a display is microLED, and that's a long way off yet. Though I'm definitely looking forward to a nice big microLED TV one day, in the distant future![]()

Odd. Maybe apple loves me!

I have an iPad 4 and the screen is nearly perfect. Almost impossible to notice any uniformity issue whatsoever.
I think the iPhone screens could realistically be better. Everyone I've seen has uniformity issues that are way more noticeable than my iPad 4.
Apple chooses to have these standards. They aren't forced on them by the technology.
The burn in issue is valid for the ones in store display that are kept 24/7 at maximum brightness.
There is no issue in real usage, coming from a user of the first galaxy s .
Perfect uniformity , no leaks, spots or shadows, you can expect from the amoleds screens.
iPhone 6s screens are a joke, owned for a short period of time two 6s units, half of the screen ( bottom ) more brighter than the other (led's on the bottom ) verry disturbing especially when browsing the web.
iPhone 7 it's an improvement , still the top, especially the edge ( where the led's are now ) it's brighter.

My iPad 4 had one of the best displays I've had. My current iPad mini 4 and iPad pro 9.7 have great screens as well. I'm picky with screens and have returned multiple iPads in the past for uneven screens.
I exchanged 3 12,9 'pros' , all of them had extreme unevenly screens, the same identical flaw.
Right warm / left side cool from the edge backlight, sold the 3rd for a reasonable lower price after 3 weeks.
IPad Air 1 had the same issue , returned 2 units and never owned one.
iPad 4 the same issue but almost unnoticeable, owned for 2 years.
MacBook retina 15 , first severe backlight bleed , even on lighter colors, second moderate backlight bleed and as a bonus the bottom edge ( led arrey light ) brighter on both, despite the normal flaws , great machine , owned for 2 years.
MacBook Air 13 , shadows on the bottom left and right corners, returned immediately.

You must be one of the most unlucky people ever. That's really unfortunate to have such issues with so many different products.
One of the many reasons I buy Apple is that I generally like the thought, care and attention they put into the manufacturing of their displays. I rarely find any serious issues with them, which is more than I can say for many manufacturers.
During my time as a debug technician for Panasonic on their screens I developed an eye for problems and to this day spot issues far too easily for my liking. It's something that can ruin your enjoyment of a screen when you notice every little flaw.
But, as I say, that's one reason I like Apple, I see less fault less often. Indeed in many in depth tests Apple screens on average rank as very good to excellent. By no means take my word for that, it takes very little searching to find the tests and results.
But I think if I'd been as unfortunate as you have I'd probably have given up on Apple years ago![]()
I have to say my experience has not been good the last 3 years, as I said. Hard to believe that's just bad luck.
My family has owned the following iPhones, 2 4 series, 4 5s, 6 6s and one 7.
Zero screen issues.
Maybe you just didn't notice the issues?
Plenty of people who have s7s with burn in issues shouldn't happen on a phone with capacitive buttons. Why do you think Moto and LG stopped, using AMOled? The burn in issue is valid for the ones in store display that are kept 24/7 at maximum brightness.

Maybe there were a bad batch of screens? If it was this big of an issue it would be headlining everyplace and not a tech forum. These complaints have been on every forum of every SMartphone that has ever used a LCD panel. Nothing's perfect.
Well there's no doubt that there's going to be, well for want of a better word, duffers out there. When you manufacture millions of laptops/desktops and hundreds upon hundreds of millions of phones there's a lot of faulty devices in there.
I mean think about all of the iPhones that have been sold. Even if there was an unrealistically low 1% failure rate (and it's going to be higher than that in reality) you're still talking about 10,000,000 faulty devices potentially in people's hands.
So yeah, bad luck plays a part, faulty devices play a part. But for every 5 unhappy people with duff devices there's 95 happy ones who aren't on the internet complaining, because they don't need to.
The reality is of course that you'll hear from the people with problems significantly more than those without, with any product. It's always been that way, always will.
But no company gets to the position Apple is in by producing bad products. Contrary to popular belief we're not all brainwashed idiots, blinded by marketing. We're perfectly capable of assessing a product and determining if it's worth the significant amount of money we're being asked to pay for it.
You've suffered a ridiculous amount of misfortune beyond that which you'd hope to see from any one customer. To have so many defective devices in succession, I sincerely hope you penned an email to the Apple feedback team outlining the persistent issues you've experienced.
[doublepost=1476047671][/doublepost]
Exactly. If we had perfection then development and research would just stop. There'd be no need for any new product, or technology ever. Because we'd have the perfect devices, how do you improve on perfection![]()
I hope you are right. I have 2 more coming. If they're bad too that'll be 6 in a row. I don't believe anyone's luck can be that bad LOL!
Fingers crossed. If it was me and the next ones arrived with problems I could see them having to develop wings for when I throw them out the window![]()
