I don't know about perfect, but perhaps satisfactory. The one on the left is my wife's Gold 256GB iPhone 7 Plus. The one right is a returned Black 256GB iPhone 7 Plus.

Good luck. I reordered yesterday.

For one, the right one's brightness is lower. Secondly, Night Shift is enabled on the left one.

Maybe you just didn't notice the issues?

Not likely. Ask my wife, I have looked very closely at all them. But thanks for the insult.

Good catch on the night shift. A lot of the yellow screens looked like night shift was on.

Also the camera could be picking up the differences in brightness and skewing the observation.

I find that the right one looks yellow when compared to the left one despite the left one having Night Shift on. That is why I returned the right one.

Do you find the left one yellow when compared to the right one?

Ok. I'm just saying make them comparable before actually comparing them.

well....So you think that the left one is better?

I had my replacement and I found it better because I focused on the bottom and the yellow bottom didn't exist.

But, Later.
I found that the left part of the screen is turned to be more red and the right is blue. Just like yours on the left, but not that obvious.

I think that it is whether a yellow bottom or a red left.......really disappointed at screen at this period...

I wasn't insulting you. It's just that a lot of people don't notice uneven screens. For example, my wife can't notice it.

For the price they asking (iPhone 7 starts at €760, 7 Plus at €900) i'm expecting it to be without any problems, flawless!

I found this thread because I got an iPhone 7 and feel like the bottom part of the screen has a bit less brightness, with a slightly more orange tint. I'm not sure if I'd go so far as to call it a problem though, because I feel like the Display Mate review sheds some light on this. For starters, the more accurate colors give the screen a warmer, more orange tone than the blue-skewed screen on my 6.

But the bigger point is the display angles -- Display Mate finds that there is a larger decrease in brightness at an off-angle than there was for the 6. When I used my phone I tend to look downward at it from the top edge, such that I'm looking at the bottom from a sharper angle, which yields a larger decrease in brightness. Combined with the warmer color tone, this gives the bottom of the screen a darker, more orange hue. If I hold the phone so my eyes are at a 90-degree angle to the bottom 1/4 of the screen, the screen looks more uniform.

I speculate that the pixels were aimed "downward" a bit more than on previous screens to give a more uniform look for people who angle the phone slightly away from their eyes while using it. And many of the pictures on here of uneven screens are taken from a position square to the top of the screen, so I wonder how looking at those square to the bottom would look.

(So yes, what I now realize I'm saying is... maybe you're holding it wrong? :p)

Maybe. But all the ones I've seen you can tell looking at a right angle.

I've got my iPhone 7 Plus 128BM (Gold) yesterday and it has a slight difference between the left and right part of the display. The left part towards the top seems to have a slight more pinkish (or call it red) tint.

I had the same problem with my iPad Pro 9,7" and changed it during the first 14 days. The new iPad is much better, the difference is hardly noticeable.

My iPhone 7 Plus is not that bad as the first iPad was. My husband has a iPhone7 which has a very even display colour (no tint at all).

In comparison to my iPhone 6 the display is not yellow at all...I've read a lot about the much warmer tone of the iPhone 7.

Question: is there anybody who has this problem with the slight pinkish tint on the left side or towards the top of the screen?

Thanks a lot in advance!

Well !!! Exactly what mine is. My former one has a dimmer bottom and I had a replacement. And now it has the same issue as you said. Not that bad, but still noticeable.

Hmpf, thank you vin7ces.

I don't like to play that lottery again, if I'm honest. Maybe a new device has othe problems like these noises or as you say a dimmer bottom or even dead pixel.

Do you live with that now? My experience is that if you don't concentrate on that and just use the device (concentrating on content of what you are doing) you don't see it anymore...

The lamp is on the top edge, on the 6s was on the bottom.

I feel like apple is stealing from us.

The warranty doesn't do nothing , all are like this.

But it's strange that nobody else (except us two) does have that problem with a more pinkish tint on the left side. Or most of the people simply don't see that?!

I have not read much about that (only about the more yellow tone of the display), also not in the germal forum.

Maybe other people just don't go to forum and they also can't see it.

I do not live with it now, but I will try...I am just annoyed that I payed a lot and I need to live with it by myself.

Okay, important update on my situation.

To remind new readers, I had gone through four iPhones 7s, two regular and two plus. Everyone of them had uneven tint with the screens being yellower at the bottom (by the home button).

Uneven yellow tint stands out easily to my eyes and makes the screen look dirty.

I ordered two more 7 plus's online on Oct 5th. They arrived today. One of them has the same issue.

The other one though is not yellow at the bottom. It's not perfectly even of course. No IPS screen is. But the uneveness is not one of color but of brightness, and it's much less noticeable.

I'll probably keep this one and return the other one.

Verdict. The majority of iphone 7s right now are uneven with the screens being more yellow at the bottom.

All IPS screens will be uneven in some way. However, the way in which most of the iPhones are uneven is very noticeable to my eyes and annoying. It is possible to find better phones out there, but expect many returns.

IMHO Apple should have higher QC standards and not allow screens with color temperature uniformity issues noticeable in normal usage.

Yes, that's what I'm thinking as well. It's annoying. Maybe I'm to picky. I swear most of the people would not see that tint in my sceen.

But I haven't had a perfect screen up to now:

iPhone 5s: yellow area at the top of the screen (about 1cm)
iPhone 6: dark shadow near the battery symbol (changed, second one was much better but not perfect)
iPad Air: changed twice (left side was horribly yellow...the third device was okay, bit still warmer on the left side)
iPad Pro 9,7: left side was pinkish, changed it and the second one is better but also a bit pinkish on the left side

Hmpf!

Not all ips screens are uneven, at least when it comes to what the eyes can see.

But the most expensive phone should be close.

We should not go to the route of swapping over 4 units until we found an acceptable one, paying in the same time a premium close to 1000 Euro.

I agree. They could put screens on these phones that were perfect to the naked eye. However, they have much less restrictive QC than that. I can only surmise that the reason is that most people don't notice or don't care.

I often wonder whether my eyes can see color better or pick up on these things more. Or maybe it's just because I'm a perfectionist, while most people have lower standards.

Who knows! It does make it annoying to buy Apple products though!

Anyway, looks like after going through 6 phones I found one without yellow on the bottom. LOL

Based on your experience, a few phones are off, not a vast majority. I have yet to see one in the 20 plus I have seen.

Still don't know how people can go through soon many phones when people are still waiting for their first....

I bet you just haven't noticed the issue. It is bad enough to be noticeable with standard usage, but not bad enough to notice at a quick glance or to notice in daylight outside.

Why is it if someone doesn't have an issue that someone else is experiencing they are stupid, dumb or blind. These forums have my OCD kicking in and I can assure you I have not seen this on any of the phones I have seen, nor are any of my friends or co workers complaining about it. My phone is perfect.

Thanks for your insult.

Dude, I'm not insulting you. Calm down. I just have a hard time believing I can go through 5 bad ones and you can not find 1 bad one in 20?

Anyway, who knows! I can't prove I'm not an outlier. Anyway, glad the mess is now over.
