Is Your iPhone 6 Defective In Any Way?

iPhone 6 Plus
64GB, Space Gray

Week 52 build but I got it last February 9. I took the time to read this entire thread and I've run Spotter and found 0 screen anomalies. But I have a scratched Apple logo and the stainless steel protruding camera lens has obvious scratches around it. It just looks like the color is coming off. The ringer is a little loose when set to loud. And the volume + sleep/wake buttons as well. As for software, I've experienced 5 resprings so far, has something to do with the flash memory.

And just now, I've noticed the very first tiny scratch the display has acquired (It's been naked since day 1). But then, all my Apple devices displays acquired scratches in a few months of their lives. But this is greatly disappointing and makes me wonder how well it will hold later if I keep it naked.

I hope this gives others insights if it's time to buy, or exchange a defective unit.

5 resprings 17 days out sounds slightly unusual should be less especially if you aren't jailbroken but its my understanding iOS 8 can and will respring at random times.

The other issues undoubtedly are hardware, and that could be given the frequency, but its not necessarily.

if you get Phone Doctor Pro and run storage speed test and post results, we can narrow down MLC or TLC as the flash. but that alone shouldn't affect it.. If you're willing to live with the (other) hardware issues go for it, otherwise I'd stay put personally if you got a good screen.

If you start getting a colored screen of death, might be time to consider a swap.

Saw this week that left Side of the screen doesn't beautiful match the body. You van feel it to. Richt side is fine. Had always the leather case on. Going to bring it back saturday to the store. iPhone 6 plus from early this year.

Ringer seems quite loose when set to silent. Also worried about home button holding up to constant use. And I can press in the bottom left and right sides to the body slightly. Should i try for a replacement?

So i returned the iphone yesterday to the store. They'll have to send it and hopefully i get a replacement. No Apple Store in the neighborhood. it may take up to 2 weeks. The sales man thinks it's gonna be a week. I going mad after 1 day!!!!!

Update!

I'm still glad to see this thread going and I just like to share this to everyone:

I recently dropped my phone and it hit the sharp edge of my MacBook Pro. This left a small ding on bottom of the phone. Surprisingly, there was no damage on my Macbook Pro whatsoever. My phone was in the official Apple leather case when it fell and I was really lucky (sarcasm) to have it fall on the unprotected area.

Having gadget OCD, I couldn't bear seeing that small ding. Yes, this phone will not be the latest and greatest in a few months but I am what I am.

Anyway, I took advantage of the AppleCare+ Accidental Damage coverage (thank goodness, I purchased it), and had my phone replaced today. I am happy to let you know, that the replacement phone is perfect in every way! I was expecting to see minor imperfections, like when I purchased my original phone, but I'm surprised I got a perfect one on a single try.

Oh, my replacement was not from a retail box but from a sealed 'replacement unit'. I'm aware that this may not apply to people buying a retail phone, but this just shows that the manufacturing of these phones must have been streamlined and perfected by now.

Last time something similar happened to me, my MacBook got damaged and the phone not....

My 6 plus has an oil like stain in the middle of the screen I have already brought it to the Apple Store with a cracking screen on the left side corner The have changed the screen but now i am having a discoloration of the screen ! Please Help me what should i do?

My first iPhone 6 had the FaceTime cresent issue, the replaced the screen and all was good till I recently noticed that there was dust in the LCD. They offered me a replacement but it had blue on the antenna bands like it was from someone's jeans. They pulled out another replacement and it had a slightly shifted FaceTime camera and the genius offered me to replace the screen on the replacement. They replaced the screen and there was in there words an overblown pixel. They took it back again and it was good but now the screen is clicking...... Smh..... I'm gonna call apple and see what can be done cause I'm not gonna waste another 6 hours at the Apple Store. This has to be the worst quality control I've ever seen from Apple. Never had this issue with the 5/5S.

My iPhone 6 does a click sound when I press the right side of the screen. At first I thought it was the Glass screen protector, but I replaced it and it still makes a clicking sound when I tap on it, so I'm sure it is the actual screen. The clicking doesn't really bother me and even though I have applecare and I could get a replacement I think I'll wait. My upgrade is n November 6th so I'm hoping the iphone 6s will be out by then and then I can get a replacement and maybe get good money for it. ;)

My work iPhone 6 does this too but not my 6 Plus. I think this is a specific issue to the iPhone 6. It makes it feel very cheap though when I feel and hear the screen creak when pressed in the lower right hand corner but since it is a work phone, I don't care.

My 6 has half the FaceTime opening covered by the shifted washer. It's sad to think tens of millions are out there like this. It would be one of my best devices otherwise.

I have a 6 plus and have the same issue too with clicking on the lower right hand corner. I don't notice any dents or cracks in the phone either, so it has to be some sort of manufacturing defect.

----------

I noticed this yesterday, but when I put my ear to my 6 plus even when I'm not making a call, I hear a very slight buzzing or static noise. I don't know why in the world it's doing this, but has me worried. Since I hate the hassle of going to the apple store to make a genius appointment.

Especially since they wouldn't near the noise since their stores are so crowded.

The Music app still forces me to use the unwieldy interface introduced with iOS7.

Oh, wait. That's not my phone, that's iOS.

(Yeah, seriously, that's my biggest complaint, heh)

64GB iPhone 6 at&t.

loose sleep/wake button that doesn't engage the vibrate ON/OFF when toggled in its position. toggle it for vibrate only and it either takes about ~10 seconds or I have to touch it slightly for it to react and vice versa. I have my iPhone 5 but would rather take it into the store and hopes for a swap. we'll see.

it works maybe about 80% of the time. just anoying at times.
