p.s. never a case, never had the antenna issue (but i guess its because i live in uk here the reception is very good so not an issue at all)

the phone is still like new, despite for almost 6 month since i bought it, it never seen the case. if it falls, it falls - that's not going to be the end of my life, i work and eventually i will be able to afford a new one. the design of the iphone was part of the reason why i bought it, so of course the case is out of the question.

I agree 100%

mines been naked but i just discovered a sick case for my iPhone 4.

it's very thin and it looks nice.

default case.

if you don't mind the occasional virtually unnoticeable scratch then definitely go naked. :D

I'm more worried about it slipping out of my hand and shattering. I couldn't care less about a few scratches. A shattered screen is what I worry about.

I've got an invisible shield and a thin iFrogz case. Not because I'm paranoid, just because I'm really hard on phones. What would crack Blackberry plastic would render an iPhone unusable. So maximum protection it is.

It is just a phone, but honestly with being a pharmacist it is so much more than that to me..

I have so many medical books on it, along with apps that get me through the day..

If there is one thing I own that I like to take care of its my iphone (I just got a new mercedes and havent even washed it in months..)..

can i ask what practice setting you are in and what specific books/resources you use?

i'm guessing you've go lexi-comp, etc. ?

Wirelessly posted (Mozilla/5.0 (iPhone; U; CPU iPhone OS 4_3 like Mac OS X; en-us) AppleWebKit/533.17.9 (KHTML, like Gecko) Version/5.0.2 Mobile/8F190 Safari/6533.18.5)

I've dropped mine twice and still have no scratches or cracks. *knocks on wood*

SGP Crystal Clear has been a godsend. It's protected my screen from so many chips and scratches (Yes, I said chips). I'm thinking of switching to the "Anti Oleophobic" model to keep fingerprints off, but I hear Power Support is the same thing except done with static cling.

As for my old case, the Incase Snap I got for free from Apple in August, I converted it into a tripod/stand for photography. Total cost for a substitute to a $30 that protects in case of mechanical failure: $0.25! Paper clips are awesome.

The iPhone 5 should have a female body design. With the curves and whole nine yards. So when you use your phone naked, you actually get enjoyment from it. :)

I take care of my things. I don't drop my phone. It's either in my pocket or in the dock. I've had three iPhones and never had a case on any of them. Never dropped any of them. My iPhone 4 looks totally brand new after 9 months. Shrug.

I use a bumper and front & back protectors. If I didn't have an issue with the oleophobic coating wearing off from use (already had to swap for a new one, had to do the same thing with the 3GS), I wouldn't use a front screen protector at all.

The phone feels too fragile when it's naked.

When the oleophobic coating wears out, does it make any visual differences (whether screen is on, off or both?

Naked for me. Even if at some point I end up scratching it, I'd rather live with the scratch than a case.

+1
Also if you take a look at alot of people using cases, the case is actually doing more damage to the iPhone than if it were naked.

I have all generations of iPhone and none have a case or SP and they all still look new or damn near it.

You'll eventually drop it and then I'm sure you'll come here and tell us about it.

Mine goes naked because I never drop my stuff. I used a razr for 3 or 4 years and maybe dropped it 3 times. In fact I still have it as backup and it looks brand new besides the paint wearing off. Had a iPhone 3G for a year and a half and never dropped it, and now I've got a iPhone 4 and haven't dropped it. I just recently got my first scratch on the back but I couldn't care less. I like the look of the 4 way to much to cover it in a case. I also have a 2007 MacBook pro that I took to and from school for 2 years and theres not a scratch on it.
