I'm really curious to see if anyone gets a warning from AT&T. I'm being gouged by them at the moment and really want to get rid of my tethering plan. If I were on T-Mobile with the same features I'd be paying half as much.

Uhm, am I missing something here? My iPhone has tethering built in...
Everybody's does.. whether your carrier allows it to work without paying for their ridiculous tethering plans is another story.

I wish people would read some of the forum before posting. This question/answer already comprises about a third of the posts. No need to keep rehashing it.

It works great. This and Logmein are the most expensive apps ive bought, but are well worth it.

It also looks like it just got pulled. Too bad, I just told some of my friends to get it.

Coincidentally, I live in Missouri, the Show Me State. If it's so easy, someone around here should settle the discussion once and for all.

Remember, they may have a web server to host activations/image downloads of the software, but there may be infrastructure behind the scenes, too.

That's my biggest gripe here, we just don't know HOW they're doing it.
I stopped reading after "show me." If anyone says that to me my usual response is to show them the door. I abhor spoon feeding.

So feel free to believe every single byte is being funneled through this tiny little company's "server farm." lol

I'm curious if you take the iPad adaptor for the tv and plugged in another USB cord and see if it would work?

Finally works!

Ok after hours of troubleshooting the application worked FINALLY!!!!

My dillema was when I was trying to run the apps with MAC OS X 10.7.2 my iPhone would not connect. So fortunately I have a Parallel installed on my mac with Window XP and download the exe and this app work with one try. Now I still have to figure out why this app and MAC has issue working together. I'm just glad didn't wasted 15.00 at all. I thought that I have to get a refund.

Purchased this app last night, just in case. Thinking I will never use it, however. Still good to have!

I bought it last night and It's finally saying I own it. Works great on my 4S with Sprint. get about 1.5mb/s down and that's with only 2 bars of signal. Very impressed, an while I don't need it now I know one day in the next month I'll want it and would have been kicking myself.

App is finally pulled from the app store, i think you can still search for it but when you try to read the description of the app, you get "Your request could not be completed"

yeah its pulled for me too.

says "this app is temporarily unavailable, please try again later."

although you can still search for it, when you try to buy it the message is displayed

UPDATE: on my phones using wifi, tether cannot be found at all. using 3g, it is searchable but after you tap on the app it says "unavailable at this time"

I honestly think there should be a lawsuit against AT&T and there data/tether plans. I find it quite ridiculous that your paying $25 for 2GB of data and you can't choose the way you want to use that 2GB. You have to purchase a tether plan for an additional $20 to include 4GB of data? What about the users who use less then 2GB even with tether?

Now I have an Unlimited data plan and from what AT&T has told me in the past there is a 5GB cap. I don't understand why 5GB/$30/month went to 2GB/$25/month. Bandwidth is cheap why are we paying top dollar for it? Is this not considered price gouging? Charging the consumer more for something that sells for less?

I know when a Hurricane takes place you can't sell your stock of lumber at a higher rate. Let's look at the iPhone as the Hurricane that took place and AT&T is the one with the stock pile of lumber...

Spoonfeeding? What? I'm sorry that I (and maybe some others) care about our privacy and lack the super-duper technical expertise of someone like you.

So, thanks for takiing the moral high road here, I'm sure it helps you sleep at night.

But I still would like help in understanding if this is the case. And I'm sure I'm not alone.

Yes but now you can play dumb and say "but I bought it from the App store"

This is actually a valid point. You can easily dispute the chargers with whatever carrier you are on just by saying you thought it was OK because it was in the app store, so you were under the impression that if apple allows it, you thought the carrier allowed it too.

I hope this was a joke. There is an app needed for both Windows and Macs to make this all work. There is no such iPad app.
