I'll ask again because nobody answered me like 9 pages ago: If I use my battery case (which plugs into the 30 pin doc connector and has a micro USB which I can charge/sync through) will it still work or does it need the 30 pin dock and I have to go naked? I already bought it, I can go naked but I'd rather leave the case on because I know what happens when I take the case off for 5 seconds, it ends up on the ground somehow or another.

Is it just me, or does the TET in their logo look like a little guy giving two middle fingers to the world?

Can confirm; it's already been pulled.

Just another sign of how ludicrous these carriers are for charging MORE MONEY to use the SAME CONNECTION on another device. US Telecom is awful.

Yup, it's gone.

I got this last night and thought it was the most expensive $15 I spent on a 118KB file. And when I get getting the license expired or failed to authenticate messages, I thought I got screwed. The company's Twitter and Facebook messages were a bit encouraging, but still felt I had been had.

This morning, their servers seems to have stabilized, and I was finally able to test it out with my 4S. The speed is amazing. And it's so easy. Just launch the app, launch the Mac component, and I'm online instantly. The Mac component didn't crash on me. (MBA 2011 on 10.7.2) Speedtest was around 3 Mbps down. It certainly feels faster than the Internet at work. It may have been an expensive app, but it's worth it. Certainly better than paying an additional $20 PER MONTH to get AT&T's permission to tether. I would only need to tether when I'm not around Wi-Fi anyway, and that's rare.

Hope they do make good on their word to get rid of authentication. And Bluetooth tethering would be nice.

Well seeing as it is gone from the App Store and you can no longer buy it. Is it really stealing if you download it through Installous because it's there.

This is actually a valid point. You can easily dispute the chargers with whatever carrier you are on just by saying you thought it was OK because it was in the app store, so you were under the impression that if apple allows it, you thought the carrier allowed it too.

Great idea guys.

i tried to launch the program and got this message. do i really need to have itunes installed on the pc i'm tethering? it's a work laptop and my home desktop is the one w/itunes.

All courageous unlimited users who are forging ahead, please keep us posted if you get a warning from AT&T. Hopefully, they won't recognize the tethering. :)

I've been tethering almost constantly since yesterday at noon when my DSL went down. I'm still using it and my DSL is still down. No warning yet. Used almost 800MBs in 20hrs.

For those of you having trouble with the download:

  1. Google "Tether-iPhone.dmg" and you'll find sites that have hosted the file
  2. Once installed, restart your Mac (the application crashes a lot otherwise)

It's working quite well for me. It's significantly faster than my Spring 3G data card.

Yes. It's not iTunes per se, but you need the supporting utilities that come with it.

It's gone.

Is it just gone from the US store or world wide. There is a difference.
If just US then that is the carriers saying they want it blocked. If world wide then yet another example if Apple puss poor working with dems and changing their mind and going back on their word.

Either you have the app now or you don't. It has been pulled. If you have it, test it yourself. If you don't have it then you missed out.

But I would venture to say NO it would work with that and the connector on the case is only for charging.

I got the app on my iPhone but I didn't get to download the PC file yet since I'm at work. That file won't be a problem getting from the iTether developer's website right?

I did manage to test it out (I was trying to load the manual on their website which was just so over crowded still, because I didn't know how to work it) but I tried just plugging it in and opening both programs and it worked over 30 pin connector really easily, so then I tried micro usb and to my surprise/delight that too works!

If you go back to this thread maybe 2 or 3 back, someone published a mirror of somekind. You better get it now otherwise it may not be available later. This apps is a sought after by thousands if not milliions and that exe or dmg maybe banned one way or another.
