I don't see the higher values / production. I have been stuck on receiving the dreaded 2305 and it is under 50 points. Though the Rev-Ay finishes one of these assignments per day, it seems like I am being punished as I have gotten no other projects for a couple of weeks now. I wonder how it would be possible to get a shot at running something like 1140. Though the 2305 would earn 44 more points in 14 days, if I could run two 1140's in the same timeframe ... Now that's kickin' it.

So once it opens in command line just type "-config" and it will redo the setup? I'm not that great with command line stuff, or terminal :( I read around a bit, but nothing overly in depth. I still forget how to do text outputs of files in a given folder :p

Stop the client and re-launch with the -config flag, the command line should read

> fah502-Console.exe -config

This will bring up all of the configuration options.

Edit : clarity.....maybe....

I'll give this a try when I get home tonight, thanks again.

Worked wonderfully, once I remembered to put myself on the right drive

Mine had to be K:\>....., and I kept trying it on C:\>, silly me :p

Thanks for the help.

I've been folding under the name 'RyanLSE' and had 6100 points, but when I joined the MacRumors team I was saddened to discover that those points don't count for my team score. Now I've only got 856 points. Hopefully it won't take me too long to catch up with a dual g5. :)

Anyway, I have a question about what the CPU die temp should be while folding. Temperature Monitor tells me mine are at 160 F (71 C). This seems awfully hot to me. I thought they weren't supposed to go over 140 F. And I haven't noticed the fans kick up at all, even though my room is quite warm. I ran the hardware test and everything looked okay. Is this normal? I don't want to damage my computer.

Thanks, Ryan

That does sound rather hot... strange that the fans doesn't kick up. I don't have a G5 myself, and I don't remember if that's a dangerous temperature or not. Maybe someone else here whould know...

And in other (slightly old) news; We no longer have any Conquests. Only Threats (Team Engadget, Team Hack-A-Day and Portugal@Folding)...

well my Dual G5 runs about 68-69 degrees Celsius, and it seems fine, the fans aren't very ramped up, but if I pause folding I can hear a decrease in fan noise if you're listening for it. the thing is I run my G5 in 'Reduced' power mode to save electricity given that it's folding all day and night, and if I kick it to 'Highest' it runs around the 71 degree mark like yours does, so I'm assuming that is normal. I wouldn't worry about it, you seem to be right in the norm for the operating temperatures of your system, just enjoy that fact it is remaining quiet despite all its hard work :)

I missed it!

Yesterday was the one year anniversary of my first returned WU. 1098 WUs for 223892 points in a year.

I would like to thank Dreadnought for his inspirational signature and putting up with my taunting and everyone else who helped with any questions that may have come up in my folding adventures.

Here's to another year......

I dare you to fold with us and catch up with me if you can (like that #$&*% Atszyman did)!

:D awesome signature modification! as reward you will be the recipient of the first kwajo.com folder of the week award. Congrats! ;)

To Sparkey (BRING IT ON!)

Hi Sparkey,

I thought you where gonna overtake me with 2 Xserves and a couple of other Macs... But can't seem to find you in my threads for quite some time now :D

Best regards, Dreadnought

Yesterday, or a few days before that, i glanced at my EO overtaking table. Holding #50 and ready to hop (how would you call a really really small jump - more step-like :p ) over Dreadnought.
But what did i see? CannadaRAM was red, hmm i thought i'd better keep track of that activity  .
Today my 24-7 folding home PC stopped working, exactly when i was gloating while working on my mini with fresh 512 extra Mb RAM. Must have been jealousy.
I'd better fixt that before the damages get to severe :-must not drop in numbers-:.
Just now the widget (;)) told me CannadaRAM wasn't a problem anymore. But out of curiosity i did go and check the EO pages. What do i see...

KristianOfFinland doing 4,725 a day.
I need to find more computers : fast : darned

Anyhow, welcome to the team KristianOfFinland, wherever you may be.:-D

I think he is from Finland, just a wild guess! :D It's interesting, he's our #2 producer, and never saw a post from him... Anyhow, I see that I have to stop the energysaver on my dual G5 and run it 24/7 instead of 7 hours a day. Here goes my electric bill! Redeye, you made me do this, owh and you to Sparkleytone!

the new semesters starting, so my output should go up again

*crosses fingers*

I started folding a little while ago. So far I've got 2641 points; I know it's not a lot, but I guess every point helps. I'm ranked 694 in the MR team. Not bad for an iMac.

Recently, I seem to be getting much larger WU's (some the 'preferred time') over 125 days. Is there any logic to who gets assigned what WU's, or is it totally random?

It's totally random, but it depends which WU's Stanford is researching, you'll get a lot of those! You can however turn the really big WU's off, if you don't allow WU's bigger then 5 MB. But on the other hand, they'll give lots of points.

Check again redeye be: I'm back on track, should hit 80,000 points tonight, it'll be about < 2 weeks to break the top 75 in Macrumors and top 10,000 overall. My daily production is lumpy - 0 one day, 450 the next, over 900 the next.
So keep a watch, one I pass musikman, you're next :D

Welcome to the team! :)

You've signed up with the MacRumors team (3446), right?

yes, team 3446 it is. the mac install was a snap, and the widget worked well. the windows stuff, however, was a bit more of a challenge. on one dual machine, the console version kept trying to put me on team 'anonymous' even after config-ing, swearing, rebooting, etc... standard stuff for the gates crowd, but no fun for me!?!

have one more g4 lurking in the basement somewhere to bring up yet. thought i might put one box in each room to use as a space heater. the money i save on heating can pay for the extra cost of electricity!

I have the same here... Was folding 24/7, but my electric was going quite a bit. So, it's back to folding for 7 hours a day. What kind of Macs do you have? If you have any duals, have you looked at the dual script of mc68k? BTW, welcome to the team!
