First one went back.
Front glass had a small nick/scratch.
Replacement seems ok so far.
I do not see any pink screen issue.
But smudges seem far more prominent than before....could this be due to the new anti re-reflective coating?
BTW
(What is book spine shadow?)
Also- Much faster than the iPad 3.
Throwing more RAM at a hog of an OS is not innovation. It's compensation.
It only has 2GB ram and the Surface has 4GB ram. Apple is playing catch up and not innovating fast enough. I want to use my iPad as a laptop replacement.
book spine shadow is the slight dark tinge along the left edge of the screen from top to bottom...most noticeable on white/gray pages
Well mine has a nice fat band of pink across the bottom of the screen. The more I look at it, the worse it looks. I think it's going back.

Yep. Only Tri-Core? Samsung has had quad-core tablets for years.
Why don't you get a surface?
I have every confidence you will find something. Don't forget to check for dust.
Yikes reading about some of these screens has me worried mine will be here Friday. If it looks like crap I'll just return and wait till Black Friday for some kind of deal, maybe it could be corrected by then. LG always has ****** screen issues. Smh
Took it back. Got another. Second one is basically perfect, and I rarely say that.
If my first Air 2 had uneven color, an entire year after the Air, then waiting til it's "corrected" is a waste of time.
Did you preorder online and return in the store, can we do that? Or did you do an exchange keeping your box?
I see did you just tell them the truth you weren't happy with the old screen, no questions asked? I hate to have to be prepared for this but it is what it is. I really hope mine is fine, had problems in the past my iPad 3rd gen had horrible bleed I'm talking unacceptable since I know some is normal returned about three of them. My air last year was perfecly fine first unit. I've been down this road but not with Apple purchased at Target before hopefully I don't have to do it again.little secret...
Apple doesn't care if you return the box OR accessories.
I pre-ordered online. Got the dud. Took it home to see if I could get used to it. Decided I couldn't. Cabbed it to the Apple store this am, without the box, cable, or charger.
Bought another one instead of exchanging, to bypass the whole "we don't see the problem" or "it's within spec" shenanigans. Verified the new one looked acceptable, then turned around and pulled out the dud. Offered to give up my new box and accessories and was told "No worries."
Same scenario played out last year. I got an extra lightning cable and power brick out of the deal then too. Of course, when I calculate the number of trips to the store and time spent chasing down a decent iPad, I don't feel bad.

Yep. Told him the screen had a pink shift, then showed him, and he readily agreed. Of course this was AFTER I'd purchased the replacement which was acceptable.
I can't recommend enough buying a replacement before returning a defective one, if you can lay out the cash. Bypassing genius bars and haggling is much less stressful.
