Can someone tell me if it is possible to make a statistical count of the highest played songs within my iTunes in a certain period of time? (For example, my top 20 played songs this week) Can I do it by setting up rules through Smart Playlist?

without deleting my overall playcount every single week, of course.

For everyone who wants to see artwork on albums with less than 8 or 5 tracks, click "Always Show Artwork" under the View menu.

But as others have said, I'm very disappointed that you can't manually change the size of album artwork in the list view. The "Large" size is only 125x125. Hardly "large." I want it upwards of 400x400.

I don't care so much about the interface of the app because I only really see it for a few moments when one record is done and I'm starting up another one. I just want the album artwork bigger, because I like the column browser, but I like big ole album artwork to look at when I'm picking what to listen to.

wtf? When creating a Ping profile you can only make your display name be the name of the accounts card holder (which in my case is my mother as I don't have a credit card).

That's ridiculous..

I am fine with everything except one, the moving of the Close, Minimize, Expand buttons, why? 10 years of OS X, with the buttons in the same place, and Apple moves them.

I haven't downloaded the new version yet (I'll let you guys find the pitfalls LOL!), but if you have a problem with the way it works, spend a minute or two to let Apple know about it:

Finally

Finally installed on both Windows 7 64 bit and Snow Leopard and I must say it is lighting fast to the old iTunes. I am absolutely static with glee.

Everything just moves so fast to the old version. Both the Mac and PC version just work perfect and fast. No problems here. :D:D:D:D

Apple is back in the game when it comes to quality.

Yet another updated iLife application that STILL isn't 64-bit or multicore aware. I spend 90% of my computing time in iTunes... yet the other 11 cores on my new Mac Pro are sitting there in idle, useless, because iTunes doesn't even know about them. So I see no speed improvements on CD import, kind conversions, multiple-track field editing, AppleScript processing, etc.

I have over 120,000 tracks, I need to use the computer power I paid for!

You have a 12 core machine. You are in the extreme minority of iTunes users. Apple's only going to optimize what the majority of users are complaining about.

CD importing can only go as fast as your CD drive can read. Doesn't matter how fast your CPU is, you're limited to the speed of the drive. I imagine the # of people importing CDs is dropping fast, and those who are, don't do it enough to worry about the speed, so Apple is probably not paying much attention to that feature anymore.

Most people have 1 or 2 cores, that is all Apple is going to optimize iTunes for until that changes :)

You want a Smart Playlist. Here's the options you want:

Last Played… is in the last… 1 week

Limit to 20 items selected by most often played

Live updating checked

Actually, this is a really cool feature.

Looks great on a desktop when you're listening to music.

Don't get it....can you elaborate? I clicked the artwork in the list but nothing happened. Clicked the artwork on the bottom left and it just got bigger on the screen.... I clicked the album artwork when a song is playing (of that album)....

You may need to recalibrate your humor sensors :D

Are all items in the left panel of itunes supposed to be gray? All folders and icons have lost color.

Clicking the artwork allows you to bring it into a separate window, drag your mouse over it and it will allow you to control the album; pause, play, forward, back, etc...

Looks great on a desktop, when you're listening to a whole album through. It gives you simple controls on top of the album artwork.

That is what I was trying to show in the photo.

No, that doesn't work.

Let say if I have a song that I have a high overall play count from the past, and I only played it once this week. It will still show up in my "top 20 plays this week", and override anything that I played more than 10 times (but with a low overall playcount) if I use your rules.

Which I've done several times now. Hence me asking the question in the first place.

Same here.... I'll ask again for those of us who are not getting this....

1) What view should we be in (list, cover flow etc..)
2) Do we need to change any settings anywhere?
3) If list view, do we need to be looking at by artist, by title or what....

Please clarify.
