Does anyone know if it's possible to adjust the size of the album art in the left column? It's far too small for my liking and it was adjustable in iTunes 9...

above the album art there is a selectable item:

Just found it by accident... if you click the drop down on the top left column you can click Small, Medium or Large. I put large and dragged it all the way to the left so I only see the album cover. Good enough I guess

Why don't I see it on software update? If you get it from the site do you need to do a clean install.

Feels like it's significantly faster (probably more and better caching) but the greyed-out UI and the new icon are both hideous. I don't care much about the icon but the UI makes it genuinely tough to tell what things on the sidebar are; it makes me read the description next to them, which defeats the purpose of having an icon (quick identification).

Yes, you can actually make them bigger.

Just click on the top of the left column where it says ''Album by artist''. A drop down menu should appear and there you will find the option for the Artwork. Just select Large and that's it. :D

Missing Ping media content

Okay, please help me out. I signed up for Ping. Subscribed to a few Artists. I keep seeing references to videos and pictures in the "stream", but I don't get anything except the title of the post, and user's comments. For example, Jack Johnson. He post's a link to his new video (or "preparing" for his new video). I don't get a link to the video. I don't see any pictures. Yet, based on other users' comments, it looks like others are seeing them just fine.

Anyone else having problems?

I'm really annoyed that Apple took away the feature to adjust it manually. When you put large, an album with under 8 songs won't display art. I have a few albums with just 6 songs and it won't show it. I'm really annoyed by this...

I wish Ping would track playcount in our library and not just purchases.

There is a "Plays" column in iTunes that counts your overall play count, however I want something more sophisticated that allow me to customize and track my play counts more intelligently (like.. most played song chart this week, most played artists in a given week etc)

DISLIKES
  • Grey Icons (the colored icons were much better)
  • Close, Minimize, and Expand button positions
  • The overly large and shiny volume slider
  • The icon (very generic and amateur)

LIKES
  • The text/appearance in the view window
  • Time Machines ability to let me effortlessly revert back to iTunes 9 ;)

I can understand why they made the window buttons vertical, but when you double-click an item (say Ping) to open it in its own separate window, they're still vertical, yet the window has the extra space for the title, so it just looks really off.

Yeah, same thing happening here. The other thing I noticed is that when I go into an artist page I don't see the ''Music I like''. Is it because they don't have option selected or it just doesn't show for artist profiles?

Here's an example:confused:

It is, dare I say it, a bit faster to load up and navigate through the iTunes store.

Apart from that, it's so very grey. Practically the only bit of colour comes from your album art. I'm not really hating, but it is going to get me the first few times I open it up.

Edit: Also the icon is much "flatter" than the other OSX icons - comparing it to Quicktime or Safari makes it look odd. I think it's an improvement on the old and busted CD+Music Note deal though. No doubt it will see revisions down the line.

not multicore aware?

Yet another updated iLife application that STILL isn't 64-bit or multicore aware. I spend 90% of my computing time in iTunes... yet the other 11 cores on my new Mac Pro are sitting there in idle, useless, because iTunes doesn't even know about them. So I see no speed improvements on CD import, kind conversions, multiple-track field editing, AppleScript processing, etc.

I have over 120,000 tracks, I need to use the computer power I paid for! And why doesn't the counter at the bottom show the track filesize total in terabytes when you get above 1024 gigabytes? I mean, WTF?

Details, refinement, polish, quality, performance... all seem compromised.

I don't like iTunes 10. I don't like how it has lost colour, I don't like how it ignores Apples own layouts (traffic lights wrong orientation), I dislike how it has introduced a last.fm clone that doesn't work as well for CD collectors like me.

I don't like how for albums like Crass' Yes Sir I Will, it wouldn't display artwork (there is only one track, its 26 minutes long.) because there were not enough tracks.

It does seem faster, but I am wary of it. Very, very wary.
