Wow! I thought I would hate it from all the previous comments I have been reading but I am loving it! Ping, the new icon, graphite, it feels much "cleaner" :D

It also feels a lot smoother than iTunes 9.

Entertain me, could some of these issues people are having be because they downloaded from the website, which to me looks like doing a new install of itunes 10, instead of doing an update through the iTunes program or through the system update tab? My mini will Not see the need for any update, but I can finally go to the website and download the whole thing. I haven't installed it, because I too and worried about losing artwork, etc. Any thoughts on why it can't be found through the software update tab ( even after clearing cache)

Peace

What exactly does it do? All it does is highlight and jump to the very first song of an album. Am I missing something? :p

I believe the OP was referring to the ability to control the track through the album cover art. While the song is playing, click the art in the lower left corner of the iTunes overall window. It will expand a larger version of the album art in the center area of your screen. If you mouse around in that art, it will expose song controls (pause, skip, etc.) in the artwork. The controls are a little easier to use (IMO) than the smaller one in the upper window.

I'm waiting to download, but I'm guessing this color complaint won't matter, I mean who sits and looks at iTunes? I set up what I want to watch or listen too and walk away from it.

Pretty neat :)

I'm surprised they didn't call it iTunes X :p

Oh and I actually like the grayness. It's probably because I had the Silent Night theme on itunes 9.

The update completely screwed up my sorting. Some artist names were changed to "unknown", some were changed to other names, and lots of other weirdness abounds. My library is now a complete mess. Wait until 10.0.1.

STAY AWAY FROM THIS UPDATE, SEE ABOVE

No issue here.

Alright, am I missing something, or did they remove the option to add the Album Artwork as a separate, resizable column? Seems like it's locked into Album List view, which has extremely small thumbnails for album artwork, or nothing (I don't use cover flow or grid).

The gray icons suck. They are even gray in the iTunes Preferences.

Honestly, the UI is a total mess and breaks from nearly all of Apple's current UI in MacOS X Snow Leopard.

Other than that, there is Ping. Blah. Some people will like it, some won't.

Come on Apple... is this really worth an upgrade from 9 to 10?

Does anyone know if it's possible to adjust the size of the album art in the left column? It's far too small for my liking and it was adjustable in iTunes 9...

iTunes X was the Apple internal code name for the first iTunes version for Mac OS X (ported from Mac OS 9), so that would be a bad idea. iTunes X was a CFM-Carbon application. I still have it here somewhere.

Feels like it's significantly faster (probably more and better caching) but the greyed-out UI and the new icon are both hideous. I don't care much about the icon but the UI makes it genuinely tough to tell what things on the sidebar are; it makes me read the description next to them, which defeats the purpose of having an icon (quick identification).

Anyone having problems adding music to iTunes now? I can't drag and drop or Add to Library... Doesn't do anything. 10.6.4
