iTuns 11.4 with Podcasts.png

Hi everyone. Sorry if this is common knowledge, but I thought it was pretty cool so in case it isn't. Messing around with my 2008 White MacBook with Snow Leopard I discovered that I can still access the iTunes Store with iTunes 11.4 and then access Podcasts just fine. iTunes won't let me directly "subscribe" to podcasts, but no matter, I can access the store, search for a podcast (in my case "Geeks Guide to the Galaxy") and then once I select it and download any episode, this podcast is added to my "Library" pane under "Podcasts" and will then show new shows that I haven't listened to yet. Anyways, I thought this was pretty cool considering I'm using a computer from 2008 with an "unsupported" operating system from 2009. Pretty sweet!

(Why do we always get suckered into upgrading computers again....????)

:)

Always post, even when you might think we won't think it's cool or be bored with it.

Lord knows how many pics I have posted of my Mac setup, my coffee cups and any other rando thing I find on the internet that can even remotely be affiliated with early Intel Macs. Oh, its Erik posting another pic again! LOL.

We are all here to share. And someone somewhere will find it interesting.

For the record though, I do find your post interesting.

Hear hear! :D

Share whatever you like because you find it interesting and if other people do, then great and if they don't, well it's their loss.

When I try to connect to the iTunes store on my 10.6 system, using iTunes 11.4, I get an error:

My internet is working well otherwise.

Are you doing something special to make your iTunes connection work?

Actually, no I never installed that. Interesting... I can't explain why mine would connect then although I did get a weird dialog box that popped up that said something to the effect that "This connection can not be verified continue Y/N" (this is a paraphrase, not the exact dialog because I'm old and can't recall it exactly....sorry). All I had to do each time was select the "continue" (or whatever it was) button and then I was in iTunes and everything came up as you see in the photo on my first post. It was all working though, I was even watching trailers for brand new movies, listening to samples of music from songs in the store, etc., no issue. This was literally 3 days ago (Jan 1st, 2026). I didn't know people had other issues connecting.

Weird.

A further update. I noticed that the iTunes internet radio was randomly flaky to see the radio streams. After turning on my MacBook with Lion iTunes couldn’t see any internet radio stations, they were gone. Later in the day I “signed into” my apple account through iTunes and weirdly after that all of the internet radio stations suddenly were available again and working.

Weird.

🤷‍♂️
