error when updating iphone

I was able to download itunes with no issues. But the first time I tried to up date my iphone I got an error 1602. I reconnected and it looks to have gone through with no issues.

Let just hope 1.1.4 has landscape keyboard everywhere.

I saw a side-rail (right) that was labeled "Top Rentals" clicking on the links or the label was taking a long time... so I bailed and starting looking elsewhere on iTunes... "Top Rentals" has since disappeared from existence.

BTW, Zoolander was in the "Top Rentals" list and the list was maybe only 10 titles deep.

You could try trashing file /Users/yourname/Library/Preferences/com.apple.iTunes.plist. I don't know if that will help. It's just one of the standard tricks when an application misbehaves.

Thanks for the tip, tried it but I finally had to drag iTunes to the trash, use Permanent Eraser to empty the trash. Logged out and in, reinstalled iTunes 7.6 and let it find my library and import all the m4p's I've purchased. Now it seems to be working will have to wait and see what happens next time I decide to upgrade.

cheers,

This might just be me, but I think the update also hasn't made any provision for the Fox Digital Copy DVD, as I have tried 5 different times with an error coming up

And i also see no rentals..

I clicked on "Movies" and top rentals appear on the right. MEan Girls is the top right now, but there is no "rent" option.

The store is messed up. There's a block for Pole Position Remix, but it's not available.

Way to go Apple.

Agreed.
Talk about a little confusing too, so I can get HD content, but not on my all my iTunes devices? Makes no sense.

I don't think that's what they mean. I've been checking out the HD podcasts on my G5 with an ACD and they're definitely in HD.

I think what they mean is DVD quality on MOST computers depending on the display and graphics capabilities. They don't want to say HD on your computer because many people don't have the ability to watch HD on their computer.

But they can say it about the AppleTV because it's intended to for HDTV's.

I can't see Apple uploading two of the same movie, one in HD and one in DVD.

Seriously though, check out the Podcasts.

not sure if it has been mentioned, but you have to upgrade itunes before you can update your iphone / ipod touch

i am wondering what type of front row/itunes change they did as they had a front row update as well. The front row update mentions itunes.

Updates??

I ran Software Update and it never gave me the option to update Front Row while it did have quicktime and itunes.

like everyone else, i can see the top rentals section in the movie store but can not see anything relating to rentals besides that.

what were the updates to front row? is there a direct link?

thanks!!! any word on these mysterious rentals? or do we have to wait till february to see the first one?

I don't think that Apple has turned on the rental option yet, as no button is visible. That's a poor move to announce it and not have it ready.

Why not? They support video correct? Support for it probably came in the last firmware update, just unannounced.

Well, Jobs said that it worked on all current iPods. The 5 and 5.5g aren't really current. Even though I most likely won't use the rentals, and if I do I have my iPhone, I still hope they'll work on the 5 and 5.5g just incase I want to use one on my 5.5g.

I think it should still work, as ipods do as they are told by itunes, it should know when the file expires.
