I found the reason for my problem, iTunes was just superslow, it sometimes takes 20 s after my click till it starts to play a song, and in that time, it also is not able to show the window. So it was still running, but computing something.

Did iTunes also update your library after you installed the update? At that moment, I didn't have my external harddrive with my library plugged in, so it couldn't do that. Do you know what it is doing at this point? Maybe, that might be a reason for my problem, but I don't know how to give iTunes a second chance to update the library...

On mine it didn't import from scratch but certainly rebuilt the library, I had my external HD plugged in though so no problem.

Also, they've FINALLY fixed the CD import bug under Leopard. Thank you thank you thank you...

In the iTunes forum of apple.com, there are a lot of people who have the same problem than me. At least, I'm not the only one. Hopefully, they'll address it soon...

iTunes ver 7.6.0.2.9 Movie Rentals - "Freeze"

:(:(

I recently upgraded to iTunes 7.6.0.2.9. I love renting movies and wanted to give iTunes a try.

iTunes is 0-2. :(:(

I’ve rented two movies “Blades of Glory” and “Transformers” and I wasn’t able to watch either of them.

I’ve used iTunes to watch TV shows, music videos, etc. I’ve even WATCHED purchased movies on iTunes!

But, I’m not able to watch the rentals. :(:(

After the movie successfully downloads, I click PLAY. A dialog box opens and says I have “24 Hours” to watch the movie.

Then.. another dialog box opens to “play” the movie (like normal) but all I get is a giant black screen. Then....My iTunes FREEZES.

My Laptop does NOT freeze.

iTunes only freezes on Movie Rentals and not movie purchases. So, this is an obvious bug….

I’m out $8.00.

Complain to apple, there's a report a problem thing in itunes and they normally refund for genuine errors.

Another release without FLAC support, itunes should offer alternatives for lossless audio.

Although I doubt it will ever happen
