I can't see Apple uploading two of the same movie, one in HD and one in DVD..

Odds are that since they'll be getting two different rates for the different sizes I think they might just make the effort.

As far as I can tell all HD content is slated only to be available for the ATV Take 2. That said, when the ATV update software drops in February we might just see them released for everybody else. Its highly likely the HD delivery mechanism isn't really in place just yet and won't be until the software is ready to drop.

Ratatouille is available for renting at 3.99. Selecting the rent button will ask you to confirm if you really wanna do that (with an option to disable this warning).

Not sure if any others are for rent tho. Was hoping to try but i own Ratatouille!

Check that. Ice Age is rentable for 2.99 as is The Artistocats and Garfield. It's a little spotty, figuring this out, but I can see from the list view of the store that some movies have 2.99 prices. I had thought that anything with no price next to the "view movie" button was rentable now, but it turns out i lucked out with Ice Age.

I'm working on pics, but I might get too lazy! :)

Ratatouille was the only one I actually saw the rent button for. The other titles in the "top rentals" list don't have them yet.

Rentals are now available

Rentals are now available. In the itunes store, click movies, and on the right hand side beneath the menu for "Quick Links" should be "Top Rentals".

well *I* am about to go rent 300.

what i'm curious to know is how the library is going to change. it really is tiny right now. maybe about 1000 titles in all. maybe.

No rental option as of yet. Ratatouille is the only one I see with a rent button. The rentals apparently not done yet.

Live free or die hard is up now. Catalogue on movie page looks to be updated with movies that are available to rent.

If you guys would watch the keynote it says 1000 by end of feb. Probably very few now.

Finally!!!!

Multitrack Audio Films come to iTunes in 7.6!!

You can now select different audio tracks such as director commentaries within iTunes and don't have to launch Quicktime and deselect and select the new track !!!

This is a long needed feature!!!!

TV shows are seperated out I noticed but in Front Row doesn't really help with seasons as they are titled the same - perhaps Front Row update with Apple TV 2 update coming out will fix this ?
!!

Can anyone confirm that GarageBand custom ringtones still work?

No reason why they wouldn't but the 7.4 saga has made me gunshy.

I don't use GarageBand so I can't confirm that, but I have confirmed that the long way to do it (Audacity, convert to AAC, change to m4r) does still work.

And apparently iToner works as well.

Why do you need an AppleTV do rent HD movies I wonder?

The only reason I can think of is that there are not many HD computers out there. It would seem like about the only way to stream HD movies to your TV wouldl be via Apple TV. Since this is the case it would only make since to download the movie straight to the Apple TV.

Well, not to mention, iPod and iPhone can't playback hd video, so it would have to re-encode when syncing, which would take............................................... forever.

Didn't they say that the Apple TV Take 2's output was still only 720 and not full HD yet?

Is the new iTunes version working for you? On my laptop (Macbook SR 4GB RAM), it is constantly crashing...
Hopefully, there will be 7.6.1. soon

Starbucks option for laptop users!

I just wanted to download the new iTunes on http://www.apple.com/itunes/download/ and I noticed the following:

Starbucks

Walk into Starbucks and buy what’s playing from your laptop, iPod touch, or iPhone.

Was that available before or is that new?

This version fixed a bug where when you play a video full screen, it now displays ASCII characters in the chapter menu.

I have a SR MacBook with 4gb of RAM, and iTunes seems to work fine for me.
