Just one thing.

But is it just me or is it that the music on iTunes sound better???

Is that possible?

I thought it was interesting that so many complained about the new icon. I agree that it looks out of place, and looks like they are copying Vista's icon style, but it is so easy in OS X to change the icons of applications. Maybe some of those complaining were Windows users (since the taskbar icon is not user-editable).

Hijack Pro is doing this to give you the bookmarking and speed control functions only implemented for Audiobooks, perhaps you should check with them if you can disable this behavior and save as a plain jane AAC M4A file instead of M4B.

Thanks. I will try that. But I also think we should have the abiitlity to see our whole "Library" list without having to go through the categories.

I already have coverflow. Apple obviously just bought up the company and shoved in the graphics. Nothing new. New interface is horrible.

AND NOT ANOTHER BLUE ICON!!!

Have anyone successfully downloaded a movie yet from iTunes? I was wondering if they provided a closed caption / subtitles? Please let me know about this. They didn't explain much on iTS.

New interface is horrible? That's your opinion but I like this a whole lot better than any interface. This is much improved and I hope Leopard will have same interface like iTS!

Another cool thing I just noticed.

Switch to the Album List view (the middle one).

Click and drag on the album art itself. You can move an entire album to a playlist. I _think_ it also works if you click and drag the album from the cover browser as well.

Actually, I'm warming to the new interface already! And coverflow is actually better than its previous incarnation as standalone shareware.

But the best bit.... finally... GAPLESS PLAYBACK!!!!!!

Though easily findable on google, what's the best resource for new iTunes images?
 Do you care to elaborate? If you mean album art, Apple is giving it to everyone who has an account and iTunes 7...

The icon is the deal-breaker for me.

I mean... *blue* (?!?!)

I'm seriously considering a Zune now and I never thought I'd say that.

Apple was bound to make a mis-step sometimes, I guess this is it.

Wow, this thing is really ugly. What's with the matte graphite in the middle of all my nice shiny blue and white? If this is how the pro apps look I'm glad I don't have to use them. And if this is where the Leopard UI is going, I'm sticking with Tiger until Apple comes to their senses.

well, in my case there are plenty of albums (approx 1/3) which have not been updated, even after running the 'get album artwork' repeatedly. and several of the updated ones are completely wrong or inaccurate.

I should add that the missing one are present in iTunes and are legit (99% of my music is directly ripped from my CDs).

also, everytime i run the 'get album artwork' command, it will go through all 400 albums. Is there a way to update a single album?

I can't believe that so many people have issues with the dock icon. What is up with you guys? You'd actually dump Apple, your iPod and all your purchased music for a zune, simply because of the icon color?

I haven't ever seen so much pettiness in my entire life!

I have reason to believe that mazola's post whose making fun of other idiotic posts...

Simply highlight the track(s) and control-click on them. There should be a 'Get Album Artwork' option at the bottom of the contextual menu that is selection specific.

Doesn't stop the fact that M4B files are not supposed to be created by anything but iTMS and be Audiobooks.

It's simple enough to create a Full Library view if you want one just using Smart Playlists. e.g. "Kind contains audio" will catch all your MP3/AAC/M4B files, but not your videos. I don't have any Podcasts here, but I'm sure you could add them in as well even if they don't get captured by such a simple condition.

Yep, highlight a song from an album, right click and at the bottom select "get album artwork".

I have quite a few that iTunes has failed to get, a lot of them are classical cds. I don't know where iTunes gets the artwork from. Does it only search iTunes or CDDB or????

I get the strong feeling it's CDDB or even something else. There are some albums that I can see on iTMS that it just won't get the artwork for me from. It has also given me bogus results for various comps as it seems to use the artist and song title to find the right album!

The artwork comes from Apple. I have been doing some checking on how exactly it works (so that I can see why it fails sometimes).

iTunes sends two requests through. The first one is a search:

GET /WebObjects/MZSearch.woa/wa/coverArtMatch?an=Dave%20Matthews%20Band&gn=Rock&pn=Crash

Notice that the Genre is used in here. I have seen searches succeed without the Genre - but I have also seen some fail _until_ I correct it. It is possible that it needs two of the above three to match for the search to succeed.

Once the search succeeds - it returns a key which is then used to send another request:
GET /r10/Music/y2003/m3/d9/h2/s01.odbbbkvr.600x600-100.jpg?downloadKey2=xxREMOVEDxx

This one you can paste right into Safari and get the art yourself.

Weird. Here's what I get for Shrek 2.

shrek2.jpg

Yet the proper artwork is there, and even for the Counting Crows single. I can't find this image anywhere on iTMS.

haha yup they really ****ed up? why oh why did they use blue...
some people on the board are ridiculous

I think that was the point mazola was making too.

No, I really hate blue icons.

AND THEY USED BLUE BEFORE IN VERSION 2.0 !!!

This is progress?

With Zune, the future is brown. :)
