I've heard something about "G5 iPod socks", not sure if my source is reliable or not...

We must have conflicting stories, but I heard directly from the manufacturer in Taiwan that Apple will be launching MacPro stockings.

Showtime

Apple must be so confident of the success of its movie section that it is willng to lose millions in music downloads while the iTunes store is down. Actually Apple will need to come up with another program called iShows.

For the first time I may be ready to start spending some money on movies and a new iPod.

Of course, now THISis the end of the thread...

Well it was for a little while anyway...:D
This is the thread that never ends,
it goes on and on my friends.
Someone posted a trailer ad not knowing what it was,
and they'll continue posting it forever just because

This thread is out of control! I like it :D

Arn,

Please take Macrumors offline before we all become Looney Tunes :p

You all have it completely wrong!!

The "It's Showtime..."

is to be followed by Steve coming on stage and just saying:

"At the Apollo"

Apple is taking over the reigns of the Apollo theater's variety show in NY.

i have very inside information as to the big product announcment for today...

speaker socks.

socks to cover, protect, and enhance the look of your apple hi fi speaker. comes in a variety of colors.
Does anybody even buy that anymore?

Sigh, now that the US Store is down, it's just a waiting game till the event.

Luckily, there's always a plentiful supply of newbies who will no doubt post asking what time the keynote is, or that it no longer says "iTunes Music Store" for the eleventy billionth time.

2.35:1, 2.39:1, and 2.40:1 are all basically the same thing. It's just that the standard was modified slightly from time to time. Even if a film is 2.39:1, you'll often see it referred to as 2.35:1.

edit: this is quite the tangent we've gotten on. :)

the key word being "basically". And sure, 2.39 and 2.40 mean essentially the same thing. But 2.35 is never used these days, is it? I may be wrong. And, as you say it's become a standard part of AR terminology.

I enjoy tangents like these. Kills the time before The Big Event. Better than being directed to phony Apple websites, anyway ;)

The Pluto store has been down ever since it was removed the from the Planet list. The poor plutonians won't get to download Bambi tonight...

*actually, I hear they are launching a "Dwarf iTunes" Store, so Pluto is good to go!

Does anyone else find TUAW extremely annoying? They are now posting speculation that the iTunes [Music] Store is going to be rebranded as just "Showtime." That is so stupid for so many reasons.

Servers down!

Man, all of the countries iTunes Music Store servers are going down one after another.

They're run on Apple hardware, aren't they? Not the best advertisement for reliability...

He should do it for Apple's sake. See, if we all become looney tunes, there will be no reason for us to buy looney tunes movies from the almost-announced iTunes media store.

You're right though, this is out of control. We need to calm down guys, it's just an apple event we're talking about!
