Very good point. I've never seen it called the iTunes Store before by Apple. It can't be a coincidence.

I'm sure this was cause for much discussion at Apple. iMovie is taken obviously. iTunes is already very well known, so they must have decided to just stick with that. The "i" doesn't really mean a whole lot anymore anyway (iWeb = Internet Web?!), so why should the "Tunes". ;)

What about iMedia???

so how much money is being lost by taking stores down for 4-6 hours?

probably not a great deal, cos they'll quadruple that in the 10 mins after the store goes up :p

pointless comment really.. lol!

If the iTunes Music Store is going to be called the iTunes Store (iTMS > iTS?) then shouldn't the name iTunes change as well to coincide with the change in available media?

Maybe they can get Senator Ted Stevens to change his mind if they rename it the "iTubes Media Store"? The name would look similar enough that most people probably wouldn't even notice.

Does anyone else think selling/running video in iTUNES is a little counter-intuitive?

Yep. Personally, I hate having video in itunes, such a pain, and i have yet to find a way for videos to not appear in the main library, but only in the video directory. am i missing something there?

False Alarm... I think my update was to 6.0.5, which is strange given I update all the time on this MBP... Sorry for the false alarm guys. Back to speculating!

You won't be if Apple are increasing the bitrate of audio tracks as part of the update. It's about time they did.

Yeah, I'm sure he'll be delighted if his iPod suddenly has less capacity in exchange for a imperceptible improvement in quality. ;-)

Now, a reduction in bitrate, as an option, might be good...

Isn't today the start of the Paris expo? So let's see...6 hours ahead of me here in Chicago...1 PM! They're updating it for the fact that the expo is up and running.
