not so sure that Disney is really alone in this deal.... Just can't wait to see

I can't imagine why Apple would have an event like this if there was going to be only Disney content available.
 not so sure that Disney is really alone in this deal.... Just can't wait to see:rolleyes:

I think their going to change the name iTunes Music Store to Showtime. Makes sense?

or even a blogged feed? i was pretty impressed with macrumor's coverage of the WWDC last month, tho i guess we are not getting similar coverage today :(

Doubt it. WWDC people can pay to get a seat - it's how it works. This event is a media only invite thing. I suspect that the guys at MacRumors aren't high on Apple's invite list. :)

Wow, it's been over a year since I logged in here. o_O

You can't even check on orders already placed at Apple.com. The store is down.

thats what happened last wednesday before the iMacs/Minis were released. New hardware must be coming out today.

Think they will close the store this morning to update the laptop line??? or will they do it when they close the store during the live session?

cost of downtime?

I wonder how much Apple are set to lose by closing an international purchasing site for much of a day...?

I can imagine it will have a lot worse impact than closing the Apple Web Store, as it lends itself more to impluse buys...

Espically with big hitters like Justin Timberlake coming out this week... maybe Napstar et al have seen a spike in their sites?

just a thought!

Can't wait :D

The Australian store is claiming that the store is busy or to check my connection

The Australian Store now says "It's Showtime". Not really convinced they'll be anything to see for non-US customer's, hope I'm wrong.

I would hope that if they've closed all the stores, that they will have some new media for all the stores - otherwise it's just a really stupid decision by Apple!

*still has fingers crossed that movies will be coming to the UK store* - it's going to be a long 4 hours until the keynote..... :p

Don't get your hopes up. This is an iTMS update/iPod update.

Considering that the videos are showing up on the German QuickTime page I think that the movie store is likely to be launched across Europe and Canada as well as the states.

I just hope that the quality of the downloads is good enough to watch on an external tv.

That's where we get the updates from. Media folks send out constant text coverage.

We'll be getting the same coverage as the WWDC, don't worry.

Yeah, and also the movie trailers are for current and upcoming films, but those two films (Transporter 2 and Red Eye) are long out of theaters and already released on DVD!

Does this mean we won't be seeing iTunes 7.0? I mean if they were releasing a new iTunes wouldn't they make the changes on the new release?
I dunno. I would think they'd wait to revise to iTunes 7.0 for Leopard. It would just make more sense to start with the new number with the new OS. After all, it's only a short time away, why start on like a 7.1.3 when you can start on good ol 7.0?
