Shame on you, Apple!!!

Boo, hiss, KN 6 is a downgrade from KN 5, and this latest update hasn't changed that. One more step in this direction and I'm back to PP. What a shame!:mad:

Keynote Remote

Keynote Remote is now within the iOS version of Keynote. There is now a small icon for this. Worked with my OS X version OK, but need to test it on an iPad. Would be nice if the laser pointer worked off of the remote also!

Looks like the Keynote app is being superseded.

Works as advertised on iPad too, but no option to use the pointer via the remote

Perhaps you are being sarcastic, but the look of the icon is probably low on the list of concerns among most of us here.
Yes, of course. :)

(I'm still using Pages 4.3 on Mountain Lion, why does everyone feel the need to upgrade so soon?!)

Apple knows nothing about Office Apps. Cut a deal and leave it up to Microsoft.

They said that about Google and it is now making serious inroads. Granted the real power users will have to wait to find a replacement for Excel + SQL Server + Power BI. But with this new software delivery model - features will eventually get to a point that people will switch for the cost savings.

I've been loving the new Pages version. As intuitive as it was before in '09, I feel that it got a lot better in the upgrade.

And I've been floored at what Pages for iCloud can do - I'm never touching that POS Google Docs again.

The lack of security in file sharing was all that concerned me before. Now that that's resolved, I don't see any reason I'd ever change.

Well, okay, one thing has been bugging me… Tables (and presumably other things you can add to the document) don't follow the text indentation even when you have them inline. To get them to appear where I want them to, I've been having to make them floating and resize them to have their left edge align with my text indentation level… kind of obnoxious - especially if I decide to adjust the text above the table. Then I have to manually move the table around again.

It's usually expected for features to be missing right after a major software rewrite.

They took 5 years to release this POS software, I had hoped that they better NOT drop the ball on feature parity, that's before mentioning some VERY important features.

Holy crap... iWork '09 was getting long in the tooth, but this is pathetic.
Especially as they said "6 more months" (okay... so what 5 years couldn't do, 5.5 will solve?) AND not even bringing back all of the features, God knows what they'll leave out, looking at what they didn't deem worthy for the initial release.

Sorry, usually I can always find that last piece of doubt that leaves me thinking Apple might have a reason to handle something in a less than elegant way, but this time they totally blew it.
At the moment, they royally suck in a lot of software releases, not all of them, but boy they got sloppy.

Glassed Silver:mac

When is Numbers going to be more like Excel so I can use it for Accounting Business.

Probably never. Apple isn't interesting in replacing Office at work - they're interested in replacing Office at home and at school - IE, for the more casual users.

iOS versions snappier

I must say.. the iOS versions are much "snappier" on my iPad 2. For reals

What are you using now if I may ask?
Spaces isn't the reason why I use OS X. The app switcher which separate key combo for window flipping is one reason, though. Makes things more graspable when lots of apps are running.

Aaanyway….

You mean the app switcher that has been in windows since 1995?

I just hope it fixes the constant 'file has been changed by another application' errors you get when you try to save (or autosave) that I, and a stack of other uses, have been getting.

At Least this Shows Continued Investment

Some may not be happy, but it shows continued investment by Apple into their iWork product. Yes it lost some key features -we get it - but they are bringing it back and across all platforms. For me Pages has grown on me to the point that I use it more. Keynote is still awesome. Number has some more ground to gain but eventually it will get there.

It may be slow - but at least steady.

Apple should team up with Microsoft. Apple's #1 enemy now is Google.

Neither Apple or Google stand a chance at making a dent in MS Office, even though MS copied all of it's apps from other companies, but it is industry standard.

oh dear

Numbers is frozen on the "what's new in numbers" screen. clicked "continue" but it isn't.
iPT 5

edit: power off and on seems to havae set it right.
I am going to like having landscape mode.

A step in the right direction, but kind of expected more after 3+ months.

Where is the format bar!?!?!?!?

Aw, just bring back AppleWorks with its database and drawing programs.

Yes, it's 2014 and there's still no suitable dB program/replacement from Crapple (and no, FileMaker Pro is not the same thing).

Throw in the towel already and admit it, Apple -- you made a huge mistake killing off AW for iWonk.

Apple knows nothing about Office Apps. Cut a deal and leave it up to Microsoft.

What everyone seems to forget here is that Apple is the only large party that has a truly free online office suite that is functionally at parity with their (also free) hardware bundled office suite.

That is the strategy behind this rewrite. The capabilities of the online suite are probably currently holding the software version back. I'm quite happy with the current versions and also trust we will see many more updates to increase functionality.

Although this is all slow and losing features is annoying, this strategy is a good one, and one that Apple and us users will benefit from in the long term.
