Re: Slow Finder Preview....

Did anybody else notice how slowly the Finder Preview information was coming up when they switched to different JPEGs even when they turned the arrow to not show the image preview? Is it taking that long because it is still trying to draw the image preview even though you've set it to not display? I hope that gets fixed. That was like a 2 or 3 second delay before the info was updated in the Finder preview window.

It was on a G3 with not that much RAM, and there is probably a lot of optimization of that feature that has yet to occur, so it shouldn't be that slow when it hits Software Update servers.

date&time&int'l

i'm in the same position as beej - my date reads mm/dd/yy even though my sysprefs in both d&t and int'l say dd/mm/yy. confusing... can anyone help out with this one?

reasons

the reson why the guys computer looks l\slow in the movies is because snaps pro sucks ass and when you turn it on to recorn a screenshot moovie, it slows everuthing to **** slow, i tried it ans then threw it in the garbage, hwat we need is to figure out what those video photoashop tutorial guy, or apple is doing for theit online screenshot movies...

Tip of the day...

JOE40 (and all else who would like to know a secret ...) :

YOU CAN TURN OFF INDIVIDUAL UPDATES! So for all of you who are tired of being annoyed by demands to install language or printer driver updates that you won't use... DO THIS!

When in Software Update, and it presents you with a new useless update, highlight the update you don't want to see anymore and then go to the Update pulldown menu, and select "make inactive".. and POOF! It won't be presented to you anymore (unless you choose to show inactive updates later).. Annoyance begone!

Have tried the 10.2 beta on one machine (not mine). It's slow (feels like it anywayz). Spring loaded folders preferences is there, but does not work. Disc Copy is broken, and something is wrong with QuickTime. Tried 6B11. If this is the most recent build, it looks like a loooooong way to go... MWNY at best....

Most likely, they're outputting the video signal from the graphics card into a scan converter which takes a signal and downsizes it into regular video (DV or otherwiwe). From that box, it's just a matter of capturing the video onto another Mac.

You need two graphics cards for this to work though (mirror the displays) or a powerbook that can render an image on a projector as well as on the screen.
