I haven't been able to get on the greenp0ison website all morning, the dev team blog doesn't say a word about the CLI for Windows jailbreak, and neither does pod2g's blog. My point is, I can't get any clear information and you have to piece info together here because it's all in different posts in different threads.

Do we even KNOW, at this point, whether they're working on a GUI jailbreak for Windows? That's what I really want to know.

If not, I'll attempt the CLI way of doing it, but I'd much rather do it with a GUI-version.

I lost all mine on my camera roll :-/
SAME HERE!!!! can anyone tell us why? i'm not really mad, just wanna keep it from happening again

i thought i saw a file somewhere on my computer that could have been it....but i know it's supposed to be saved with the back up...why would everything be backed up but the pictures

does it matter which version you use?

Thought so. Thanks anyway ACardAttack.

Hope there won't be any conflicts with the GUI version released and with what I've downloaded into my iphone already.
what does GUI mean....and i'm curious too....is there any point on switching? are they any different

I'll survive, but I could have manually backed up all those on my computer...I'm gonna try and use a data recovery program to see if I can get them....some of them are on facebook, but there are others I would have liked to have kept...oh well

What files are needed to do a CLI jailbreak for Windows 7 (x64)?

I'm new to "jailbreaking" and I can't seem to find this anywhere in this thread.

Any help is greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance!

I don't think it matters which version you use. GUI (Graphical User Interface) is a program you run that basically does the jailbreak for you. It's what they released for the Mac version. I know what I'm doing (somewhat) when it comes to CLI, but I'd just feel much more comfortable accomplishing this using a GUI-based jailbreak.

On the phone itself as you are going through activation select it as a new iPhone (make sure it's connected to your computer BUT make sure iTunes stays closed) then run the jailbreak in command prompt. It should work fine.

THEN once you have confirmed Cydia is on there, Open up iTunes select your iPhone and choose your backup.

why isn't my picture roll restored with everythign else

You're actually not because Apple employees are not allowed to post on tech gossip forums. You're just a person who is helping on the forums, and that is good enough. No need to lie now

My employer cannot dictate what websites I browse and am active in. This isn't prison. I am at no point making any official representation as someone from Apple. All advice and instructions I give are my own. And I haven't revealed any personal information at any point.

Ah ok, cool job. :)

Just followed what you said and it worked for me!!! So damn happy! Thanks! :D

Awesome :D

The short version is guys, if it doesn't work then:

Backup
Restore/ set up as new
Don't set password lock.
Try again.

Fairly common bug. Make sure you backup before you try this guys. If you don't have a backup on iTunes then check if you have an iCloud backup.

To restore from an iCloud backup from the iPhone go to settings>general>reset> choose reset all settings.

That'll restart it and run you through the set up process again with an option to restore from iCloud backup.

Let the iCloud backup completely restore (open photos app and make sure it doesn't say downloading.) once fully restored from iCloud then run a backup from iTunes restore your phone as new do the jailbreak process again and then put the backup beck on.

If you ever set up photo stream then all your photos should be on your computer and at least the last 30 days or 1000 photos will be on your other iOS device with the same AppleID.

If you back up your computer then you can get the photos back possibly through a system restore or what ever backup program you use.

iTunes backups are stored in C:/users/Your user name/app data/roaming/apple computer/ backups. If you can't see that folder you need to enable hidden files and folders which can be done through control panel> folder options.
That's the folder you'd try to get back if you use any sort of computer backup.

My iCloud backup is still restoring(so slow) so I can't try again on my 4S till tomorrow.

I've been trying for last hour. I've read and re-read as well as viewed the video. I keep getting this error:

'cinject.exe' is not recognized as an internal or external command, operable program or batch file

Please advise.......TIA

You haven't went to the right directory using CD or you haven't unzipped the .zip file or both.

Screenshot of your cmd will make it a lot easier to give you specific instructions.

Anyone know how to fix the above error? Happens on the first step ....jailbreak.mobileconfig

This is my error.........

I've run through the CLI jailbreak and everything went without a hitch, but when I get to the very end and do the VPN switch, it throws the error but never resprings. I've flipped the switch multiple times and no joy.

I'm assuming at this point, I need to do a restore and then run the CLI jailbreak again. Would I be correct in that assumption?

if i have iOS 5.0, and if i screw up during this process and be forced to do a restore, then I'm forced to upgrade to 5.0.1?

This is still where I'm at.

Read the instructions earlier in the thread, watch the video if you want, and go for it. The commands aren't complex and there's only a few things to type in. If you're still not comfortable after reading and watching, then wait for the GUI jailbreak tool, but really, this isn't that complicated.

Yeah, I've run through it. You're right, it's not complicated at all. But now it won't reboot when the VPN switch is thrown. It does give me the error, but nothing happens after that.

I'm downloading 5.0.1 right now and I'm gonna do a clean restore and try it. It seems people are having more luck with a clean restore.

well that sucks. im stuck at the cinject.exe -j payloads
Finding Slide
Error

part

Hi Guys, I tried the CLI JB and it failed at:

"cinject.exe -j payloads"

This was tried on a virgin 4S, with no SIM, and no WIFI connection. After correcting these, it worked first time!

Hope this helps somebody.

my backup contains the photos/videos from my camera roll, but how can i put them back on my phone? restoring them isn't working
