Surely you can restore without being connected to the Internet. I'm gonna try it at home today.
No you can't iTunes connects to apple servers to authenticate a restore.

Really? This just surprises me. I'm going to try it with my wife's unjailbroken iPad 2. It's still on iOS 5.

I also suggest waiting for iOS 7. My 3Gs was running a jailbroken 6.1.2 very nicely then it went all crazy and lost a lot of stuff. Restored it to iOS 6.1.3 and rejailbroke it with redsn0w with an untethered jailbreak. Gotta love the hardy old bootrom 3Gs.

That's like bragging about owning a 1990's BMW. The 3Gs in it's day was a great phone but now it's junk.

Gotta love when peopel tell you it cant be done, as the actual devs tell everybody that it cant be done, and people that have been jailbreaking for years say that as well. But I guess you possess some magical powers on this topic
And Dont call me Shurley
I hear you on that.
Untethered Jailbreaks for life and verbose boot![]()
I miss verbose boot :-(
BTW can anyone explain to me why the 4 can't verbose boot? I understand why the 5 cant but isn't the exploit used on the 4 the same kind that was used on the 3G?
Strange how a "junk" phone that is jailbroken like mine can reboot a whole minute faster than a jailbroken iPhone 5 when running the same firmware and how it can remain more stable as more tweaks are installed. While it may be an old phone, it has a few things newer ones don't. Like verbose boot, forever untethered, and real boot logos. It even runs iOS 6.X much better than the iPod Touch 4 and on par with the iPhone 4. Even a 1990's BMW is loved by those that have them. I'd like to have one.
I reboot my phone maybe once a month. My jailbroken iPhone 5 crashes and goes into safe mode maybe once a week.
You go into safe mode once a week? Maybe you should reboot more often, lol
Or he could find out which tweaks are bad, my 4s does not go in to safe mode unless i put it there.
This, I can't remember the last time I went into Safe Mode without me making it do it.
