You always run in the statement of "Do yourself a jb". You can't make me "like" dev-team working way, I've already stated my reasons to let them out of the new jailbreak now, they simple don't have it. Their jailbreak is based into using old SHSH's, if they keep using this big fail method, the percentage of people that can use that will be low and low and low... because Apple updates the iOS and so new phones comes and the actual gets replaced.

I don't expect anything coming from Geohot, so my last hope is chronic dev-team. At least they showed a video and didn't gave an ETA (don't know if the video is fake).

You defend dev-team as if they're your football / soccer / basketball club. Take it easy man.

I don't want you to "like" them, I personally don't like them that much, but it is upsetting when you and other start calling them liars, and saying they don't deliver when they actually do, and work really hard on it for the benefit of many. Call the greatest idea that had happen to Jailbreaking a "fail" method is just plain wrong. You rather they just burn exploit after exploit to the point that there is not more or they are tired to find anymore and them everyone lose, it is not about liking or not liking it is about who is there for the rest of us and who is not.

Yeah, good. I am not complaining for what they released but for what they announced and never did. I am not fan of dev-team, chronic-team, geohot or whoever. I just like the things to be clear. Why dev-team didn't come and said: "Ok, we have untethred jb for 4.2.1 but we don't know when we will release, it can takes long time, maybe we will wait for next major OS version".

Actually, comex was the one who stated he had a userland hack that could be used to untether. The Dev Team's untether method was a "backup plan" (their words) which they then called Monte. So who didn't deliver? Comex or the Dev Team? As I recall, the Dev Team's stance was that they depended on comex for an untether that didn't require SHSHs.

I would be sad but ok with that... but they come and say "In the xmas everyone will have an untethered jailbreak for most recent iOS." Come on man. Then they don't release in christmas and says: "It will be soon in this year". Now we are in 2011 and they say "someday in first weeks of february". Why would I believe that?

The facts speak by themselves.

You can believe whatever you feel like, but you're taking your own assumptions and opinions, and preaching them here as if they're facts. Frankly, it's irritating. As is your sense of self-entitlement to the inside working of jailbreaking, be it releases, ETAs, etc.

I for one believe that patience is a virtue, we should all wait patiently for any jailbreak/unlock, and be thankful when it/they are released. Name-calling, hating, and the like do nothing positive for anyone.

Nobody knows sir. And even if the dev-team said yes ( which is not the case anyways) you can't trust their word. Almost everything they said last months never happened.

Even with the 3g-3gs unlock and jailbreak, they said that they were waiting for 4.2 and they will release it the same day that it would came out. Not that they said that it was 100% ready around 2 months before the release of that firmware. When the day arrived, the release it a week later.

I know that 7 days is not huge but this is just to show that they just can't do what they say that they will do. Even if they said its 100% ready 2 months earlier they just can't.

I am not whining, i am reporting FACTS. Thanks

Do I hear a strong bid for "entitled douche of the week"?

Stop treating the dev team like you've ever given them a cent or done any favors for them. They do amazing stuff and don't charge anyone. Need a phone to use with your carrier? Don't get a ****ing iPhone.

Im glad its not up to Wowzera to think about the good of the community and the many instead of the few in a pinch.
Recycling exploits is genius, not fail.
But anyway, why bother to educate people like him?
Let him sit and cry on his corner:D

Bah man, today I don't want to think about that. Let's just forget that damn jailbreak stuff and keep our lives going.

So back to my original question that started this thread.

#1 Is the Verizon iPhone4 launching with 4.3 ?

#2 If so, do you think a jailbreak is shortly coming, or we waiting for months for it ?

So far there is 4.2.6 firmware for the CDMA iphone. I believe shortly there will be 4.3 for both GSM and CDMA devices and any JB would potentially work for both.
I doubt it will take months, probably days after 4.3 is out is my guess.

Thank you for the update. If I do get the Verizon iPhone4, would only be after there is an official solid untethered jailbreak available.

I hear you.
I didnt buy my last iphone untill there was an untethered JB also but I dont think it will take long.
They have plenty of exploit options and are waiting for the millions of Verizon people to jump aboard.

Then expect some PM's from me if I get the phone once jailbreak is out. I will have a few questions to get me rolling to root it, and install custom themes, and widgets, etc...

By far the most inane comment ever on this forum.

You mean dev-team? I heard that chronic dev-team exploit used for a 4.2.1 untethered jb is "closed/locked" into 4.3 iOS.

I suggest start reading the stuff that you want to ask. There are millions of threads in MR. A google search helps a lot too.
