Yup, it's only on final shipment that you'll get an email, etc. with the tracking details.

Well i recived an email when my payment was accepted and status changed to "Preparing", so i was hoping i'll get an email on the other status change. But i just couldn't help myself clicking and checking the status manually few times a day :) Like the rest of us i suppose.

My order is now in 'Preparing for Shipment' and I didn't receive any emails at any stage so far.

Did you pay via wire transfer? Possibly hence the payment confirmation. I paid via CC.

I received an email when I placed the order initially, and then another when it finally shipped

Yes, wire transfer (need an invoice so it was my only possibility).

Great news for you!

On that kind of schedule my order should come in about 3 days sooner than the date indicted. Ordered on 19th January, so may have it in about 2 weeks. I like the way this is going ! :)

Excited nonetheless!

Thank you :) yea I think Apple are using a faster shipping and delivery method.

I had 4 GMail in notification this morning. I was hoping one of them was Apple.

:(

January 15th. Still processing.

Ridiculous...

3 weeks to the day I ordered and no movement from Processing status.

Pretty steamed. My Config:

3.2GHz Quad-Core Intel Core i5
8GB 1600MHz DDR3 SDRAM-2X4GB
3TB Fusion Drive
NVIDIAGeFrc GTX 675MX 1G GDDR5
MAGIC TRACKPAD

Ordered on the 8th for a high-end 3tb to NYC.

This morning I noticed that my order page showed a box instead of the iMac. Refreshing the page oscillated back and forth between the iMac and the box, so I guess I'm hitting different servers while everything gets in sync. Hopefully it'll be in the mail later today.

I wouldn't bother checking, or at least getting too steamed about not seeing a change until about a week from now. I placed my order on the 10th, and I'm just now (going by how everyone else's are shipping) expecting it to change to Preparing For Shipment sometime this week. And even then, that's still me being hopeful. But it's with good reason, because it's following the trends that other peoples orders are following, and because of the fact that every Apple rep I've spoken with, has told me that the 27" iMacs are roughly a week ahead of the quoted ship times.

Three weeks from the date of order for me is January 31st. So if I don't see an update by then, then I'LL be steamed also. Especially since people's orders have been shipping earlier, and I've heard from Apple reps that the iMacs are about a week ahead of schedule. Which should mean for mean, that the estimated delivery dates would be January 31st to February 7th. Rather than my original quoted February 7th to the 14th. In theory, if they are truly a week ahead of schedule, then my order should go to Preparing for Shipment today or tomorrow, then ship later in the day, today or tomorrow, and should arrive in a couple days, which would be January 31st or February 1st. Which would be FREAKING AWESOME. But I dont know if it's gunna happen.

Ok so my 27" iMac has shipped today, however i have just looked at my bank account and Apple have not taken the money out. I have also looked at the tracking online and i cant see a tracking number for me to track on UPS or fedex's website. i'm a little confused

This was sort of my thinking too. Many of the macs within 3-5 days of my order date have shipped or at least changed status, according to the spreadsheet. It's making me think my configuration just isn't that common and got pushed to the back of the queue (likely) or perhaps it was forgotten about :).

Anyway, I really don't want to be that guy to call and complain, but I really do need this machine for work purposes. Also, I planned to take advantage of the apple financing through Barclays and I believe I only have 30 days to make an interest free purchase.

I've given up expecting anything in the way of delivery before mid Feb. it's messing with my head keeping thinking I'm going to get the thing earlier. Still processing this morning and I haven't looked since.
On the positive side, as I can't currently work due to lack of said iMac - my house is very clean. Which is good. As I won't be doing any when hell freezes over. Oops. Sorry. When the thing turns up.

What really pisses me off is that Apple have my money. So even if I do find one in the store. I couldn't just go and buy one without raiding my savings account.
