my user name and specs disappeared

thats what I thought as well, but check by your order date then City/country and see if you can find it.

----------

This isn't accurate - I walked into a store today and purchased pre-configured (but not base) model ($2599 + Apple Care). And it was exactly the specs I wanted. They even swapped the magic mouse for the track pad for me!

Ok I stand corrected on some stores maybe. It could have been that it was a return that someone returned and was not happy with something and the Apple techs looked at it and decided it was ok to see this one. I could be wrong. Again. LOL. I am not perfect. But the main point is some people like yourself get lucky and find what they wanted in the store. Good for you.

----------

I got what I wanted which is the base model 27". Unfortunately there is physical damage to the bezel and the display so I will exchange it. Bummed I didn't notice it in the store.

Out of four Apple computers that have come into my home three have had some sort of issue.

Well good, I am glad that your Apple Store had the one you wanted. I am sorry to hear it had damage. The store should take good care of you but still a hassle and gas to return. If you ask they may throw in something extra... maybe not but as they say nothing ventured nothing gained. Have fun with your new iMac.

It says for me: FedEx International Priority DirectDistribution.

I'm still thinking mine is on the FedEx90 flight which is about to go over Utah now, so getting my Mac tomorrow morning on Long Island is a possibility if it transfers over to the Memphis to JFK flight which would take off around 3:00am and get to JFK by 5:00am-ish. It just has to get to my delivery site early enough to be put on the truck. I wish I knew now so I know when to take off from work...

Well. I'm assuming mine is on the FedEx 16 flight. Where are yall seeing this "Fedex 90" flight? I'm seeing a FedEx 16 en route to anchorage right now...

Also, maybe that's why I'm not gunna get mine until Wednesday, because for some reason they lied to me when they said they upgraded my order to Express Shipping.

Edit: Alright. I've just confirmed with an Apple rep I spoke with. She reviewed my order, checked the tracking and said that it DID in fact ship via. Standard Shipping. Which isn't a huge issue as it's want I selected in the first place. I just wish that they 3 other Apple reps I spoke with didn't tell me that my order received a free Express Shipping upgrade, and that ALL 27" iMacs have been upgraded to Express Shipping. That's the issue I'm having, is why tell people that? Just to shut them up for a while? Then select only a couple people that you made enough money off of to warrant giving them the Express upgrade? I don't know. Just a warning to folks out there, if you speak with an Apple rep and they tell you that your iMac was upgraded to Express Shipping, unless you see it updated to Express Shipping in your orders, don't believe them. It's only a tale..

Anybody ordered the 15th and seeing their orders being completed?
EDIT: the December thread seems to go quiet. Good sign?

I ordered mine on the 15th around noon PST in NV of USA. I am watching carefully because the 15th orders are ready to move to Prepared for shipping in the next few days I believe.

Status: Still Processing

I hope so I'll try and get an iwork download code or a super drive

Sorry if this is a repeat question, but how do you know the flight? Mine had shipping status yesterday from China, but there's been no further updates. It's due in San Francisco on Tuesday!

15th but late in the afternoon (EST).

I signed up for Text updates but still can't help but to check every hour on-line. :(

I kept my old Mid-2008 for almost 4 years so hopefully I don't have to go through this again until 2017. LOL

Curse of the Commercial Invoice

A heads up to everyone expecting iMacs shipping through Anchorage today. It seems that the curse of the required commercial invoice has struck the latest shipment going through Anchorage.

My computer arrived in Anchorage at 11:30am Alaska time.
Showed 'In Transit' and 'available for clearance' at 2:21pm Alaska time.
Three different flights to Memphis left this afternoon so I was very excited that my computer was on one of them with a small hope that it would make it to Los Angeles in the morning for delivery tomorrow.
At 8:36pm Alaska time my tracking is updated to show that it needs a commercial invoice. Apparently it takes 9 hours to figure out that the shipment paperwork wasn't done correctly.

So now my computer, and most likely others shipped out today, won't leave Alaska until tomorrow at the earliest.

I'm still going to receive the computer within the promised window, but it seems silly that Apple would mess up paperwork like this. I've had two other computers ship from China over the years and never had this happen. -sigh-

Well, mine missed FedEx's cutoff time, so it isn't yet in Anchorage. It's on the plane in route to Anchorage this very moment though, I would assume. The arrival time in 2 hr 22 min. I hope the batch mine is with doesn't have any delays. That would suck as it would probably push the delivery date back even further than February 6th.. SEEING AS HOW I DIDN'T GET AN EXPRESS UPGRADE. lol

What airport in China?

Hey. What airport do the flights takes off from in China. I'm trying to narrow down which flight my iMac may be on, to judge better when I might see an update and when it might come. Yes I know I was given a delivery estimate, but I like to check things out for myself. I know the Macs come out of Shanghai, but which airport, out of which city? Because I'm only seeing a flight out of Guangzhou, Guangdong...

Apple shipments fly out of Shanghai Pudong which has an airport code of SPD/PVG. If you are tracking on FlightAware.com they place a Z before the airport code. Anchorage is ANC, but on FlightAware it is PANC. Memphis is MEM and KMEM on FlightAware.

I posted mine over in the December thread(out of habit lol) but mine was in the dreaded commercial invoice hold too. Got the red notice on Tuesday, didn't clear until Thursday about 5 hours before my estimated delivery date. I worked with an Apple online store manager who was very nice. I'm tracking the shipment now and she assured me I'll have it tomorrow(which according to the tracking looks to be true). She is going to call me back tomorrow to make sure I got it.

I'm not really getting how shipments like these can be messed up. Especially since all the ones that go to Memphis seem to be fine. I'm thinking it's something or someone at the Anchorage stop that's causing all the issues.

Ok guys so my 27" iMac should be delivered today according to the tracking on the Apple page, yet I haven't been given a tracking number or the delivery company's name. All it says is "in transit to customer estimated delivery date Feb 1st 2013" Is this normal??

Mac got the import clearance in Memphis. So it was on the direct flight from Shanghai. I did pay for express but Apple took that off the bill.

The flight with my ( and many other here mac is on) will arrive at Heathrow via Abu Dhabi at 4pm tomorrow 2nd feb. flight leaves at midday tomorrow

Not quite sure how it managed to get to AD as I can't find those details

Also not sure how it takes 6 days to get from Heathrow to cheshire! It's only 200 miles!
