Almost there....

-Placed order on UK Edu Apple Store on January 15th, paid via Amex
-Went from Processing to Preparing Shipment to Shipped on February 1st
-UPS delivering to my home in London UK tomorrow, the 6th of February. (of course, I can't be home).

All in all, a 22 day process. Ridiculous, but not as bad as it could have been!

My specs are:
3.4ghz i7
1TB Fusion
680MX
8GB RAM

CAN'T WAIT!!

Lucky you, mine was shipped on the same day as yours but I haven´t heard anything about delivery yet.

Mine was scheduled to be delivered 11th. Now it changed to 12th, while others are getting theirs a day earlier. My luck...
It has been stuck in "transit" from Shanghai Airport since yesterday afternoon.

the same for me... first 11th than shifted to 12th (as the first ups date). Shanghai airport since yesterday.

Dont forget China's new year holiday from the 10th to the 12th of Feb, so this month shippments will be delayed for sure :(

My new iMac arrived at the office yesterday! I ordered it on Jan 11th, and it came to my office in San Francisco. I usually take Muni home, but I took a cab home yesterday. I got my new Mac set-up quickly and began the data migration from my last Time Machine backup. The migration ran for about two hours and worked flawlessly!

I don't see a single problem with my new Mac and I'm loving it so far. In some ways it feels like my old Mac because my file structure is the same as before. I also ordered the trackpad with this Mac, which is getting some getting use to, but I'm going to love the extra control you get with a trackpad over a conventional mouse.

I hope the rest of you get your new iMacs soon!

Someone posted in another thread that they spoke to Apple Customer Support, and they accounted for Chinese New Year in the shipping estimates.

With all the reports coming in from piss-poor work standards in China, one would think that they don't get holidays there!

I thought the same as the poster over:)
I was wondering why I couldn't get any data from expeditors.com, it must mean that the package hasn't left the airport/boarded the plane.

just got the invoice mailed to me. How long did it take for you guys to get it after you got the invoice?

Where is it?

Lucky you, mine was shipped on the same day as yours but I haven´t heard anything about delivery yet.

Def. lucky you. I ordered on the 9th Jan and still do not hav a firm delivery date. Shipped on Feb 1st. Apple is saying delivery on the the 8th Feb before the system went down, but had no courier info (due to Apple Care, I guess).

My Imac was shipped on Jan, 31 and the travel going well until the landing to Louisville UPS Hub. Arrived on feb, 2 and still there 3 day after. Something going wrong with this UPS center or is it normal to take more than 3 day to make the connect fly ?

P.S. Destination : Canada

The UPS site is down, ho hum

The UPS site is up! I'v checked my tracking number a moment ago. 5-feb 21:04 (china local time) it says "departure scan", with "export scan" already done. Still in Shanghai.

However, i think that our iMacs will be out of China before their new year holidays but, as someone says, i don't believe that chinese workers have holidays! :)

Interesting that if you check with ismysitedown or other tools is says www.ups.com is down. Probably just playing with people then!!!

Phew, it's back up (obviously running on Wintel boxes so just needed a reboot :))

Congratulations! Have they charged your card/payment method yet? You'll most likely see it update to "Shipped" sometime tomorrow morning. The good thing about when your order updates to Preparing For Shipment at night, and then updated to Shipped in the morning, is that you are guaranteed to make the FedEx cutoff time, so your iMac wont have to wait till the next day to go out on the plane like mine did. Which shipped method did you choose? I only chose Standard shipping, it shipped last Thursday, and I received it this morning. Which is pretty dang good for standard shipping, and if you went with Express Shipping, you'll have it even quicker. Hope you enjoy

Oh, and I just wanted to upload a little something. I ran a speed test on Speedtest.net, and here are my results with this iMac. I have Roadrunner Lightning by Brighthouse Networks. If you are in the Central Florida area then you are familiar with it. It provides you with 40 Mbps DL and 5 Mbps UL speeds. Pretty dang nice, soon I'm going to upgrade to the 60 Mbps speed... You can never have too much speed...

I wont know anything about the Card, its on my mothers. Our house at college was broken into on christmas and my fully loaded 27 inch imac was stolen. Insurance will handle this one. i did the standard shipping figuring as i would be waiting a lifetime already. im more than anxious to get it, already have 2 superdrives, thunderbolt hard drive, and 32gb of ram to greet the beast when it arrives.

So did yours update to shipped yet? Chances are you'll get it a few or a couple days before FedEx actually quotes you, depending on where you are. FedEx is usually really good about that.

Glad you got it!!

Mines out for delivery today. Sod's law says it will turn up while I'm on the school run later.

Got fibre optic cable here so 125 down and 10 up... And to think I used to think dial-up was great ?!

Dangit... Just more proof that they do things better over in the UK. There's a company here in the states AT&T, and they recently, last year, came out with a new home service for internet and TV, and they use fiber optic cables, but for some reason they aren't even able to deliver the type of speeds that Brighthouse Networks provides. I think their max is like 25-30 Mbps, which is good, no doubt, but not as good as 60 Mbps, or in your case.... 125 Mbps... :(

I was just about to go to bed and call it a night, and decided ok, one more check to see if it is still stuck on Processing Items. . .

And it Moved to Prepared for Shipment . . . at appx 11:30 pm so with some luck it may ship out early or earlier than 48 hours. But Finally it moved. It won't be long now. :D

Wahoo! ;)

125 down? Who are you with? I'm looking to upgrade my broadband - had the same for yonks but never got around to getting it sorted. Now might be a good opportunity.

Especially as my imac has left Shanghai!!

fedex must hate me

Date/Time Activity Location
- 2/05/2013 - Tuesday 6:16 am At local FedEx facility SAN JOSE, CA
- 2/04/2013 - Monday 3:45 pm Departed FedEx location OAKLAND, CA
- 2/03/2013 - Sunday 12:48 am Arrived at FedEx location OAKLAND, CA

my iMac arrived Oakland Sunday, 40 miles from my house, it took two days to get to the local fedex in san jose, which is 5 minutes from my house. And now they wait until tomorrow to deliver to me to match the estimate, which is pushed out one day from the original date today. I tried to call fedex but get into the auto answering machine and it said the package is too big for pickup. how do you talk to a person ?
