January 27" iMac Orders! (Those ordered in January)

Placed my order on Jan. 21st, and I just called Apple to get any additional info on when my order will be preparing to ship (because i'm so anxious). Anyways, the guy was really nice and he upgraded my shipping to expedited, and right before I was about to get off the line he offered to ship out a USB superdrive as well! Now my order moved from being delivered from Feb. 19-26, to Feb. 15-22. Plus a superdrive. I'll take that! :D
 
A Video to Watch Once Your New 27" iMac is set up...

My iMac arrived Feb 1st and it is awesome! I've lived with a 15" MBP for so long...watching videos on this new machine is such a treat. Here is one video that I can highly recommend you watch on your new 27" screen. It is similar to a National Geographic feature of beautiful places around the world.

mine (and megaoctane's one) is stuck in Anchorage. Obviously, to get an imac from china to europe, they have to cross pacific and atlantic ocean! Absurd, it's twice the distance...

where are you from? i've seen that all these goodies and expedited shipping are only for u.s.a. customers...
 
The agony of waiting is worth it!

27 days of waiting has been worth every agonizing second. I originally ordered on January 6th, and it arrived at my office on February 4th, the earliest date originally promised by Apple. That included being stuck in Anchorage for two days while it waited to clear customs. Here's to years of fun with this beautiful machine!

Ordered my 3.4 i7, 3TB FD, 8gb, 380x, wireless mouse/kb on Jan 18 and I'm still stuck on processing.

Replacing a 2012 mac mini & tbd I bought in early December & returned right before the holiday return date.

Called Apple yesterday to try and get a superdrive but got shot down twice. They did confirm that every 27" is getting expedited shipping but its not the same as the $30 usd upgraded shipping. They told me if I changed my shipping to express that I would get the iMac only 1 day sooner.

On a side note, my local Apple Store has been a joke, repeatably telling me they don't carry iMac's with fusion drives, even though I know they did. I was told by the "inventory manager" a flat "No" over the phone one time. I walked in yesterday and the 1st sales rep said the same thing, another overheard and confirmed that they do. I could have had this thing weeks ago! The business guy today told me he'll mark my business as interested in that model and alert me. If i get a call before mine is shipped/delivered I might just get that model. I would have changed the 3TB back to 1TB anyways, but didn't want to lose my spot.

Working on my 15" 2012 macbook pro is getting old after working on a new Mac mini & 27" TBD all of December.

@Val how do you know ours are stuck in anchorage? My 82xxxx number shows no data in expeditors.com.
I am getting crazy. TNT site just says, in transit since Monday.

EDIT:
Spoke to TNT and my package was on its way, but there hasn't been any physical scannings done on the product, thus my tracking status is not changing. It should be here on the 11th.
Someone at my job told me that large companies choose the cheapest shipping deals. So these products are shipped if there is room on the plane/truck/car. If not, then they have to wait.

Mine's done China, Shanghai, passed through Anchorage and is currently sitting in Kentucky. That gives it two days to get here to meet the delivery estimate.
 
Just went preparing for shipment!! Checked this morning not expecting any change, so happy!

Ordered 19th January with a 15-22 feb estimate! Hopefully it will be out the door before long.

Does out for delivery on expeditors mean to me or the courier?
The apple tracking page hasn't changed like.

Stuck in work so if it is to me then DAMN!
 
Today's the day.... Maybe...

Well, according to the UPS tracking system, today is the day, after over a month of waiting, my :apple: iMac finally arrives!
Unfortunately it appears to have only departed from Castle Donnington this morning at 0520, and i assume it has to go to the local Gloucester depot before it moves to 'Out for Delivery'. Their system is still adamant that it will be delivered today though! :confused:

I'm working from home today in the hope it's on time, but then i'm in Liverpool for 2 days so won't get it until the weekend, so fingers crossed!!!

Come on UPS, i believe in you!!!!!

Ordered on 15th of January and it's out for delivery today via UPS to my place in London! I've moved all of my appointments around today so that I can be home.

Mine too, now it is in Louisville, KY. Why an european order is doing an U.S.A. Coast to coast tour?

Order and specs ar in my sig. But when i answer from the iPhone, the signature doesn't appear :)

Ordered 16th Janaur, Preparing 02-Feb, Shipped 04-Feb. Last change when tracking via TNT.no is 04-Feb. It just shows in Transit.

Finally seeing Jan 19 th orders preparing for shipment. I also ordered on the 19th, but about 11:00 pm east coast time, so hopefully I will see my order change today....

Ive got 3 'displays' on my desk now, and the most obvious difference between them all is the lack of glare/ reflection on the new iMac,

you could set the 20" in the foreground, 27" in the mid ground and 42" in the background. You could have your very own time machine style setup on your workspace :)

My iMac finally arrived first thing this morning. Still not happy with Apple/The Courier over absolutely no notice, whatsoever!

And I had only 3 hours notice because I happened to be awake at 5am!

That is crazy! Think you need more screen space. Does it not annoy you that the 27" iMac overlaps the 40" tv/monitor? or is it just the angle? :p

I am 90% certain mine will be delivered tomorrow. Expeditors status is 'Services Completed' and on the Apple Shipment Status the '48hr' thing has gone.

Glad I am off tomorrow. Too damn excited, can barely contain myself! :cool:

Through reseller or straight from Apple?

I ordered one week before you through a reseller. Still waiting. No change in status since order was placed. A friend of mine ordered through a reseller as well and have been waiting since beginning of December :S

exactly the same happened to me

I didnt even trust myself to get it out of the box without dropping it.

and I am bit crazy but even I wouldn't leave it like this.i am still moving data about and deciding what to do- Even doing a bit of work!


I didn't want to buy new desks etc until i saw the thing
