This pic shows a certain attitude/behavior that I don't like but I can't explain why, it's a gut feeling. The image/pose/look that these gentlemen have on this picture do not correspond with the image that Apple holds dearly, at least in my book.

This is obviously my interpretation and as always: interpretations are colored based on subjective opinions so I may be (and most likely am) totally off.

I know what you mean. I call it the "artists look of importance". And it has somewhat something to do with what Apple does. Meaning: It's showbusiness. The one being first, loudest, craziest or prettiest wins. Apple has not however put peoples names and faces upfront before the actual content. Yes, there was Mister Jobs but he was selling products of the company. This picture shows that these two Misters do not want to sell products. They want to sell themselfes.

At least, that's what this picture talks. Same thing with Mister Ive's Image. People got bored of it. They do not hate what he has done though. Maybe it is the same with these two guys.

Hopefully... Maybe... By accident.

as a significant shareholder in apple i really wish they hadn't bought beats.

Why is that? While we really don't know their true motivations for buying Beats, one thing for certain is that Beats brings in lots of profit all on their own and were very successful before Apple. It's not like Google buying a money loser like Motorola for instance.

Assuming Apple bought them primarily to acquire Dre and Iovine, the profits that Beats generates all on its own just further increases Apple's bottom line with minimal effort. Beats is pretty much the Apple of headphones when it comes to profit margins. As a "significant shareholder" you should be excited.

Thats the best thing I've read about Beats & Apple so far! I really hope there is genuine artist heart behind it and not just a flowery cover to another money making model.

They're going to teach kids how to make crappy, overpriced headphones and how to be professional thugs. That's cool. It pays more than being a restaurant manager so that's cool. :D

So when's that $5 Apple subscription music service coming out so I can ditch Spotify? That's all I care about.

Apparently you are "cool" if you follow your publicist's advice and shove your thumbs into your front pockets and wear all black outfits.
These are Apple clones for sure.

You still haven't given any reasons why they shouldn't have bought Beats.

Hmmmm... another person who is vehemently against Apple buying Beats.

Why exactly?

And isn't it harmful to carry around so much anger?

I'm filing the Apple/Beats deal under "It happened... It's done... Get over it..."

Dre: 5 kids from 4 different mothers and this little incident.

Not exactly the type you want representing your company. But with Cook, profit is all that matters.

Announcing The Dr. Dre School for Kids Who Can't Read Good and Want to Do Other Stuff Good Too

And why would you think that? It is still part of USC... And you have to submit transcripts, and your SAT/ACT scores. You also have to submit a proposal.

Really, things like this are what we need more of in the world in general. Overall, the program looks really good to me.

5 kids from 4 different mothers and this little incident.

Oh my god! What a horrible thing... Much better to have 5 kids with 1 mother that you end up divorcing... I mean things happen, relationships happen. Super rich guy has 5 kids... call the presses...

Is that supposed to be a question or comment?

Yes, 5 kids with only 1 mother is much better. Sorry you don't understand that. Go ask any kid or mother what they would prefer.

Just to clarify: Only one commitment (marriage), 5 kids, 4 different mothers. That you somehow condone this tells me you must be an Apple Apologist. Speaks to the character of you both.

As usual, the ones that write the rules are not the ones that obey them.

Ever notice that the term "institutionalize" are for either people going to college, prison or the looney bin?

Huh? My point is relationships happen. How many people only have 1 relationship in their entire lives? And if so, how many of those people are happy? I've been married once, no kids, no plans for kids, no plans for divorce either ;) And as a woman, I've known too many women who have fallen into the idea of a romantic life having multiple kids with the same man, the same man who may say to them 'don't work' and then they end up leaving the woman with no work experience, no money and although there are ways to force child support, you generally still have to be middle upper class for that to be very effective.

I think it is ridiculous to judge someone else on their relationships and how they conduct them.

1990-1991.@.CLUB GLAM SlaM, as Dr.Dre sat to our left in our drivers seat in one Mercedes Benz 190e he was interjected with the words "***** That" and then TOLD "In the FUTURE the way you Sound in the Studio" was to be put into the Mercedes Car Stereo , the Sony Walkman and the Panasonic Car Phone upon the floor of that vehicle. We had listened to Dr.Dre and TOLD him while swiping our left hand as a "Price is Right" hand model across the center console. Dr. Dre's mouth flung WIDE OPEN and just said "*DUHAYMMnnn!!!" as these advents were NEWS to Andre. We shook hands, and throughout the following years continued to remind him that he was To Do these things. Our reasons for interjecting what Dr.Dre had to say that morning had been kept private. We are immitated by Jimmy Iovene on "The Tanning Effect pt. 3 Steve Stoute Jimmy Iovene interview on you tube. On the Steve Stoute WILL-I-AM interview pt. 3 on you tube this individual pretends involvement as well.. Our "the way you Sound in the studio" words to Dr.Dre have been used by 50 cent as well. The GOOGLE post of a "Self Proclaimed Inventor of Beats by Dre...." has a Steven Lamar stating he had a"vision" as he sat in a car with Jimmy Iovene, this is for YOUR entertainment purposes ONLY. He was given "Declaratory Relief" and is believed (as he'd logically prefer) to be the creator of this that has become called "Beats by Dre". In 1990-1991 Dr.Dre was TOLD by us as well that, "...m*********s is gonna be wearing this s*** and don't even got it plugged into nuffin'

While I might not be entirely pleased with the Beats/Apple marriage, I think this is a terrific idea. Hope it is successful.

How many have 5 kids and 4 different mothers, and he's not even through his "entire life"? Sorry you don't realize that this speaks a great deal of one's character.

Apparently, according to your POV all cheaters, abusers, and deadbeats are great guys. After all, "it is ridiculous to judge someone else on their relationships and how they conduct them".

You edited and added the middle part of your post. You are essentially saying it's better for men to knock-up multiple women, then leave them, and this is what the women want, and it's good for everyone involved. Dre was doing these women a favor by not committing after impregnating them? LOL! You have got to be working PR for Dre and Beats.

No, I'm saying that people have all sorts of relationship dynamics. Dr Dre has been married to his current wife since 1996... he is 49 years old, he is someone who is high profile and has been since a young age. I think really it is better to know where you stand with someone then to think of some idealized relationship where you stay with someone forever and only have kids with them. There are a lot of different relationship dynamics that exist and your idealized one doesn't mean it is the best one. And really? Are you of the view that you marry someone because you get them pregnant? That is a great reason to get married.

I'm witnessing apologetics on steroids, here!

Great, go ahead and use Dre's relationship history and treatment of women as a model to raise your kids. Your parent of the century award will soon be on it's way.

Not your strongest argument. MR readers write him all the Time. And reportedly, he responds.

makes sense since i was not arguing anything, what's your point?

the peanut gallery of mac rumors... like a scene straight from the movie idiocracy

I'm not saying Dr Dre is the greatest person ever or even a great father, I'm just saying that one data point is not valid. And I said, I don't have kids, no plans for kids, but I think judging him for that is stupid. The Dee Barnes thing is horrid, but I also believe that people can change.

I think this school thing though is great.

I don't think Beats properly represents the image of Apple in terms of quality, elegant and thoughtful design, and bespoke minimalism.

Just thought i'd add a face to the post.

Image

'significant' to me in the sense of tens of millions not billions.

And Steve Jobs was an angel??

You must not have heard about this guy called Steve Jobs who denied his daughter's existence for ages and was known to be a complete ass hole for years.

You should split a person's personal life from their business endeavours. This isn't politics, it's business. Your personal life has very little bearing on how successful your business decisions are.

Haha! I'm pretty sure we all have. He receives hundreds of emails a day.
When they 1st introduced SIRI, I suggested a Shazam type thing where SIRI would listen to the track, tell you who it was and give you a direct link to iTunes to buy the song or the album.

It was a good idea and eventually they implemented it.

I'm sure 99% of the emails he gets are useless ideas from people who have no clue, like what you have done.

i'm sure hundreds of your posts are useless like this one.

i would have much rather seen them spend half of the same money putting together a dedicated team of a hundred engineers to fix bugs. it is becoming clearer with every release quality control is suffering.

it isn't a big deal for my as my portfolio is diversified but it does get me thinking to start shifting my support in other directions. in the past year i have reduced my holdings in apple and moved a lot of it to tesla and intel among others.
