I don't want pop music and pop culture shoved in my face. I never associated the Apple brand with bland music and media, but here we are. Maybe that's good for their bottom line, but it doesn't make for an interesting, creative service, and it's damaging for their brand. Apple is producing Carpool Karaoke while Amazon has The Man in the High Castle and The New Yorker. Apple is in danger of losing their hip factor if they continue down this road.

Jeez, I want a new Mac mini but I'm not bitching about everything the company does just because they haven't given me a new mini. It is possible to have both, computers and content. You aren't happy with the releases, I'm with you, but you sound like a whiney little kid. The beats guys don't make computers or design computers, so your hate towards them seems uncalled for here.
Maybe if Apple actually released computers, it wouldn't be an issue. But since it appears that Apple can't concentrate on more than one thing at a time, with the tens of thousands of Employees, then we have the negativity we see today.

The negativity is not from Apple's product lineup(which one is awful?), it's from a false sense of entitlement that consumers have. Apple owes us nothing. The new MacBook Pro is amazing and it just launched. I'm with you on wanting more computers, but you know as well as I do, they are working on new desktops. I wish they had them ready yesterday but they didn't.

Your comment wasn't directed at me but wanted to jump in. I don't know that Apple IS working on new desktops. Do you some other evidence besides Tim saying that there are great things in the pipeline?

This sounds a little desperate. I hope Apple's media interests work out, but it feels like Apple has no idea what to do next.

100s of millions of the same device sold is what made the cool factor go away. It's not because Apple may soon produce original content.

Okay, you need hard evidence that a company, that makes computers, is working on future computers? That's easy to see, for me at least.
By that logic, I guess there will be no new iPhone this year because Tim Cook didn't say there would be....

Certainly, everyone jumps into content production when they are desperate.

I guess there will be no new iPhone this year cause Tim didn't say there would be....He doesn't need to, it's a given, unlike updated desktops.

Use your head, We have been waiting for updates to the MacPro, Mac Mini, and iMac since: 2013, 2014, and 2014 respectively. Why would I think Apple is working on a new computer? Lets see, new iphone every year, new computers every year? Uh, no.
To put it another way, I'll believe it when I see it.

Wanting a former computer company to release an updated computer sooner than once every 2-3 years?!?!?

Entitlement indeed

Wait so if I am subscribed to Apple Music this new Apple Music TV will part of it or I have to pay more? Not that I really want it when I get enough POP garbage through my cable.

I have been contemplating an Apple Music subscription but with the description of these upcoming TV programs I am inclined to abstain from a subscription simply to avoid seeing the mere offering of this garbage.
I've had Apple Music since it came out. It's getting better especially with the latest update.

This x1000. Siri's voice recognition has declined quite noticeably for me within the past month or two. I use Siri a lot for list making and it has become frustratingly and, at times, laughably bad. It was never great, but the change has been so noticeable I thought for a few days over the holiday break when isolated from other people that perhaps I had suffered a mild stroke (quite serious). A return to civilization affirmed that it's Siri and not me who has suffered the stroke.

The fact that this product, already poking along at a seemingly slow development pace given that it was released over five years ago, now appears to be going backwards... Let's just say it dovetails nicely with what a fair number of us are already feeling on the hardware and software QA and feature fronts.

Once upon a time, Siri running in tandem with Apple Music would be killer for me but...:(:(...

...Siri seems to barely work anymore. I've been a fan of Siri for years even when everyone was saying how badly Siri worked for them. I learned to speak very clearly in unaccented English, in a clear tone with very precise word choice for a previous robotics hobby, yet I can not get Siri to understand half of my commands and queries any more. I find myself having to shout at her, too. Yet Google Assistant on my iPhone works fine. Go figure.

Siri insists "sentient" is "sen teenth"...what the hell, that's not even a word, yet she picks it over "sentient" every time. I can't get a simple dictionary definition because she's incapable of recognizing that word. Alexa had some tribute with it, too. Google Allo Assistant rarely has a problem with any queries I have thrown at it so far, even an obscure inquiry about the works of author Esther Averill.

So between Amazon and Google voice controlled AI working so much better and tied with hardware and services that do not belong to Apple, Apple is stepping out on thin ice.

If Apple starts including movies and other original content with your Apple Music membership for the same price or as an add-on why is this a bad thing? People are so damn negative on here.

There was a time when Jobs delivered so much that people thought "Wow, this is revolutionary"

Current Apple executive think if they say "This is revolutionary, this is amazing" long enough they can hypnotize people into actually believe a lesser product with a higher price is actually amazing and revolutionary.

I would really appreciate if you put more effort into quality control because I am not happy with my half pink-half green iphone 7 screen.

Exactly how many new TV shows do we need? Amazon has original series. Netflix has original series. Hulu has original series. Cable has original series. Networks have original series.

Accessing most of those is not free. There comes a point when people are tired of paying so many different services for access to different shows.

No. No one has to pay for these things (and I'm guessing many won't thanks to torrents sites). But no one likes to miss out, either, in case one of the exclusives turns out to be of interest.

Apple is a sinking ship at this point. They need a revolution and have infinite money basically and instead of figuring out AI and making an insanely smart Siri they would rather waste everyone's time on buying beats and making a music revolution.

What a load of crap!

Music is music and iTunes was a great place to find and listen to music. Now that Apple is so full of themselves they have lost sight of their grassroots and what made iTunes so great. I don't even use iTunes anymore because it is so convoluted.

They sorely new to consolidate their efforts on making new hardware and perfecting the software that we at one point could not get enough of. Achieving a much better level of AI with Siri is the path to success instead we are getting some ****** MTV remake.

Come on Apple!

If Netflix can do it for $10, I don't see why Apple couldn't do it for $20.

$29.99/mo for movies, music, tv
$44.99/mo family plan

Netflix's selection of movies is horrible and isn't even worth the $10, which is why I primarily buy from iTunes.

Thinking when you are wanting a new computer a company should make it for you. Indeed, entitlement.
And Apple didn't drop the computer part of their name because they don't make them anymore. They did that so the name would encompass more of the companies mobile offerings AS WELL. You all need hard evidence they are making desktops but you need no evidence that they have stopped making them?

So if an iPhone didn't come this year but Tim said great things are coming, you would assume there will be no more iPhones?

No one cares you are upset you haven't got what you wanted, when you wanted it. It doesn't take a genius to figure out they are working on new desktops.

I'm sorry you need verbal confirmation from the CEO on unannounced products, wait that's not enough either, you need to see the products before they are announced.

If they released a chip update yearly you would then complain they weren't doing enough With design. I would still buy the latest iMac over any pc. I would still buy the latest mini over any pc. I would still buy the latest pro over any pc.

I'm not alone even if you think Mac sales have stopped.

Only an Apple apologist/fanboi can excuse 2+ and 3+ years of non-releases.

I'm done here, there is no possible benefit in talking with you anymore, because EVERYTHING Apple does is 100% justified.

I'd be done if I were you as well. They don't have to justify anything dude. they owe you nothing. I'm no fanboi and your use of the word is amusing.
Which device that hasn't been updated is so bad?

Sorry there is no benefit to you, by me not **** talking Apple products.

We don't need more crappy shows I agree. However, if Apple produce good content and it forces cable or other streaming sites to be more selective on the content hey have then that's a good thing too. I am all for Apple including more content in Apple Music. I am not keen to pay additional fees but if it turns out better than Netflix and allows me to consolidate then that's cool too.
